Chapter 5 - Trapped
"Don't tell me you locked the door..." Tiberius grumbled. Gidget could hear him coming over but still couldn't see him that well, even though he was right next to her. After a few moments of silence other than the doorknob rattling, the old hawk reported grumpily, "This is why I had it open slightly cuz now the stupid door is locked!"
"What do we do now?" Gidget asked. Her day just kept getting worse with each passing second. And it was supposed to be perfect. Sitting down, she bowed her head quietly. She could hear Tiberius pacing back and forth as he was trying to think of a way out. After awhile, she heard the footsteps stop as the hawk declared, "I need a light."
"Why?" Gidget asked.
"If we're lucky, there might be an air vent in here. We can use it to escape. However, I need a light so we can see where one is."

A moment later, he pointed out, "You're gonna need to get on my shoulders to get it."
"And you can't get it? You can fly, last I checked."
"Gidget, there's not enough room in here for me to fly. Just get over here and get the stupid light!"
Sighing, Gidget felt around blindly. After bumping into several things and stepping on Tiberius's tail on accident, she finally found his shoulders. Climbing up on them, she reached up as far as she could. Her friend held still as the Pomeranian felt around. At last, she finally found the pull string. Biting down on it, she mumbled through clenched teeth, "I got it!"
"Great, now tug on it," Tiberius's voice called up from down below. Gripping the string as hard as she could with her teeth, Gidget tugged with all her might. A second later, the light bulb above their heads turned on. Wagging her tail happily, Gidget released the string and barked joyfully, "I did it!"
All of the sudden, Gidget lost her footing. And everyone knows that, according to gravity, what comes up must come down. And Gidget did with a yelp...
