There were a lot of hostile looks turned towards Max as everyone gathered in his apartment. It made the Jack Russell terrier nervous, his tail tucked between his legs. Mel reassuringly patted him on the shoulder. Giving the pug a nod of gratitude, Max took a deep breath before turning towards Gidget and beginning, "Gidget, Dolly's been lying this whole time."

"I'm not gonna listen to this again," Gidget growled, already getting up to leave. Quickly, Max cried, "SIT!" That earned him a glare as the Pomeranian sat right back down. Bowing his head apologetically, the terrier went on, "Last night, I heard Dolly talking to this Doberman, I think Luther was his name." Recalling the Doberman that had attacked her not long ago, Gidget motioned for him to continue. Sighing softly, Max explained, "She's in love with him, not me. And think about it, wouldn't a dog start showing signs of being pregnant after a few weeks?" A few of the others nodded their heads in agreement.

"How do we know you're not lying?" Chloe hissed.

"Chloe, I was there and everything he's saying is the truth. And you guys know I suck at lying," Mel piped up.

Taking all of this information, Gidget didn't even notice that Max was standing in front of her until he placed his paw over hers. Looking up into his eyes, she remained quiet as he mumbled, "I don't know why but I think there's a reason why she did that. I think she was trying to get to you."

"So she caused us to break up..." Gidget concluded. Max quietly nodded his head, adding softly, "Gidget, I would never lie to you. You can stay mad at me if you choose but I-" The terrier couldn't finish as Gidget leapt up and gave him a hug. "I believe you," she whispered. Smiling softly, Max hugged her back and kissed her cheek lovingly, causing her tail to wag. Seeing how the two finally made up, everyone began crowding around and congratulating them. They were all happy for the reunion.

All except one animal.

Hanging his head, Tiberius snuck out when no one was looking. Right before he left though, he heard Gidget whisper, "I love you Max." Heart breaking, he stepped out of the apartment and flew away.
