There are three main ways to make slime:

Glue mixed with some baking soda/bicarbonate of soda (No baking powder) then mix with contact lens solution.

Glue mixed with detergent/liquid starch.

Glue mixed with dissolved borax in hot water.

The contact lens solution must say one of two: boric acid or buffered solution.

Only certain brands work for the detergent method.

To make clear slime, use clear glue.

To make fluffy slime, use a foaming face soap or shaving foam.

To make butter slime, mix equal parts air dry paper clay and slime.

To make floam, mix in Styrofoam balls.

To make fishbowl slime, mix in glass beads.
