Shouts of discouragement echo in her ears,
Sneers and criticism laced with laughter.
She stays steady and blinks back the tears,
And puts one foot in front of the other.

Her goal is as high as the stars,
And the path to it is rocky and hard.
But her mind is made, eyes set on the price,
So she goes on, taking another step forward

People will criticize no matter what she does,
Her downfalls are highlighted again and again.
But she goes on, ignoring the fuss,
For from her failures she will only gain.

Her efforts are sincere and breaths laboured,
She faces all obstacles with a smile.
And in the end she is finally rewarded,
For every undeterred step
towards her fame was worthwhile.
