Library Girl

Hello Everyone!✋😄

Remember me or have y'all forgotten me and this book? I'm extremely sorry for being super duper late in updating this book. But cheer up, coz here's an update. It feels home to be back here, I missed this book a lot.

I haven't done any proofreading, so there might be some typos. Sorry! Without wasting any more time, let's dive directly into the story. Hopefully, y'all will like it.

Happy Reading!💚

***************************

"Han Maa, I'm fine! Don't worry...", I tried assuring her for the nth time. Still, she asked again," Are you sure, beta? See, I don't want you to suffer. Come back here, I'll..."

"Maaaaaaa! I'm telling you na that I'm fine. Now should I focus on my prep or your cribbings? And about this cold, then I'm fine. Moreover, I'm not a baby anymore", I replied getting irritated with her naggings to get back home just because of this stupid cold. This is the reason I don't tell them, she makes huge mountain ranges out of a molehill.

"But Bachha... you'll always remain, my baby boy, na. It's just..." she started only to get interrupted by me," Maa, I've reached the city library. I will call you later. Don't worry I'll be fine. Okay, bye! And love you". I instantly hung up not giving her further chances to start her manipulations. Moms, I tell you! They can make their children do anything with their sweet words or big red angry eyes, and for me, both situations are terrible to face because I can't handle both. But I do miss her and others, terribly...

This isn't the time to sulk, let's get going.

I crossed the busy road somehow and entered the gigantic gates of the city library. As usual, there was hardly any soul lurking in the open pillared corridors of the 1960s library building except for the security guards and some gardeners who were busy watering and taking care of the marvellous garden just in front of the building. Always I have been the first library patron to arrive and today isn't an exception either.

This library has been like a temple since the last year where I come daily unfailingly. To feed in my general knowledge quotient and sometimes to drown my bibliophilic heart into the fictional perfect realms of fantasies of novels and oh-so-magical poetries, just before getting back into student mode. The red-hued pillared corridors at the entrance giving away the British era vibes, the grand main hall with the chief librarian seated in the middle along with his assistants, the huge shelves behind them full of books of every genre and kind, the desks and benches placed a little away from the librarian's area for the patrons of the library, and everything of this heaven has come to know me. It feels personal like a sweet haven for me where I can be myself and drown in the fictional world uninterrupted. The bibliosmia in the air soothes my soul and provides me with the energy to cope up with the remaining day's hustle.

"Good morning!", I heard a gentle voice greeting me which pulled me out of my thoughts. "Good morning, Kaka", I wished the elder security guard who has been working here for 12 years. His smiling countenance immediately changed into disapproval as he said," Ved, you have caught a cold. Yet you're here. You could have rested in the PG. If you will not read for a day then the Himalayas wouldn't have broken down, son". He must have noticed my red nose and guessed it. Damn!

Why on earth everyone is making a big deal out of my cold? It's a simple common cold. Now get ready for a lecture, Ved. Pheww!

" Kaka, I'm fine. It's just a common cold, it happened due to the seasonal change. And I've taken the meds yesternight. So, please don't worry. And about me coming here, you already know I can't stay away from this place because of my preps", I tried reasoning but he didn't buy them. " Beta, health should be your priority...", he started but I interrupted him," Kaka, okay got it! I'll be reading here as I've already arrived but I won't be going to college. From here, I will head up straight to my PG. Is that okay with you? A day off?"

The minute I finished, his face brightened up and he nodded furiously. I chuckled at his adorable response saying," See you, Kaka. I better start my reading session before you start pushing me out of the library", and left him in the corridor.

As I entered, the chief librarian smiled at me like always and I did the same wishing him a good morning as well. I made my way to the news bulletin area and started reading them one by one.

I went through the headlines and there wasn't much to read. Still, I took out my notepad and chalked down the relevant things. My daily notepad includes everything from world affairs to Indian polity situations to soaring economies to business updates to new and rare innovations in science to sports news & a lot of other things. My preparation demands me to know every possible thing happening and even if it gets tiring I have to do this. I went on and on as the people started coming more and more. And in half an hour, the library was full of patrons and common people. But it didn't wave off my focus.

Another couple of minutes passed, I started feeling drained. Might be because of the cold, I'm getting tired. I glanced at the seating area to find a seat for me and to my luck, there was one desk left with no occupants on both sides. Thank God! I quickly dashed into that direction and placed a random book from the nearby self on the broad desk along with my hanky. So, that no one will seat on it till the time I will be searching for a book to read. Well, yeah... that was enough for today's GK session and I would like to drown myself in the arms of a fictional character before Kaka comes in search of me to kick me out.

I looked around for a little upon the great library, full of all the books that had ever been written, and where people were doing their work, examining and reading and making extracts, everyone with looks of so much interest, that I almost envied them. Though it was a generous delight in seeing people so happy in their occupation, and a desire to associate myself somehow in it, rather than any grudging of their satisfaction, that was in my mind.

Now, I should find myself a book to transfer myself to another fictional world away from the real world and more importantly from this damned cold. Haha! Okay, Ved Srivastava, let the hunt for the perfect realm of the fictional world begin!

I strode towards the Novel sections of the numerous shelves in the large hall. And a series of magnificent books of remarkable authors came into my view. The moment my eyes fell on the shelves, I felt relief washing over me. Of course, I have not read a novel for 1 month because I thought it was a distraction but now I can't wait to dive into one of them. Yayyy!

I scanned one after the other shelves to find a book I haven't read yet and which has an interesting write-up. And to my utter dismay, nearly the first two shelves are full of novels already read by me. I internally kicked myself for being so mad. I have literally finished two shelves full of books in a year. Am I focussing on my prep or reading these books only all these months? Damn you Ved! I should drop the idea of reading these today and stick to my resolution of not reading these. But I want to... urgh it's so damn confusing.

Involuntarily, I punched the last corner shelf of the row out of frustration knocking off few books from it on the other side of it. Leaving me terrified. Ved, now you're gone. The chief librarian will kill you for sure. I cursed mentally and closed my facepalmed myself waiting for the upcoming scoldings. Shit!

"Hey, be careful! You can't just knock off your loyal friends like this na", a pleasant, soft and hushed voice came to me from the other side. And I would be lying if I would say I wasn't surprised. I expected an angry reaction from the other side but this is what I am getting. A simple reprimandation?

Not able to digest this unexpected reaction, I instantly removed my hands from my face to see the owner of the voice. Little did I knew that I am going to witness the most iridescent set of compelling eyes. The bespectacled honey-brown deep irresistible orbs screaming intelligence and amusement were the only thing in my view but holds the power to make anyone swoon over them. The hooded eyes can't be compared with any adjective, or it is my unfortunate lack of vocabulary to describe those enticing eyes.

Suddenly something shifted in me and I felt all those bookish butterflies in my stomach. Those eyes and that pleasant voice made my heart leap with joy. I couldn't help myself but stare at those bewitching eyes staring right back at me, uninhibitedly. I didn't know why but suddenly a wide smile bloomed on my face. I realised that it felt good or more aptly put it felt awesome to witness those unknown pair of eyes. I know it's unethical but it felt right in every way and I let myself drown in that deep honeyed ocean. Those pair of eyes that seemed like a haven of intelligence showed a series of expression changing from amusement to questioning to confusion and at last awkward. Awkward?

And in a flick of seconds, the owner of those ravishing eyes went away hurriedly as if she hated to remain at that place.

Oh, shoot! Ved, damn you, man! What the hell were you doing? You stared at a stranger for so long and ended up making her uncomfortable. You can't go on staring like this, it's horrible. Such a sicko you're!

But those eyes were indeed hell captivating... Stop, right there! Stop being like a pervert. No matter how beautiful those compelling and intelligent set of eyes were but what you did was terrible. My mind chided me but also appreciated the beauteous eyes. Hehehe!

Now, I should better focus on my book hunt rather than giving the stupidity of mine any more thoughts. Once again, I started my hunt and this time it was the third and last shelf. It took me few minutes but I zeroed down at a historical fiction novel- 'Chankya's Chant' by Ashwin Sanghi. Its write-up seemed interesting and also it's not romantic fiction. I picked it up purposely to keep my thoughts and memories of that little encounter at bay, which were assaulting me and my mind since then.

Quietly, I moved back to my desk only to witness a lady seated on it but the other side is vacant. It is my favourite spot where now the lady is seated because from that point one can see the whole library and also the outer world through the large arched colonial-styled windows that are right now filtering the pleasant sun rays into the grand library. Nevertheless, I occupied the seat opposite that lady on the desk and the last one remaining as well. I started reading my book but couldn't bring myself to concentrate on the sentences let alone understand them. Courtesy of those bespectacled deep angelic eyes that came on hitting my subconscious after reading every sentence. What the hell is happening to me? Why can't I forget those orbs? I was so excited to read a novel a few minutes ago but those eyes and that encounter have spoiled everything. My behaviour was the cherry on the cake because of that awkwardness I have seen in her eyes, it made me feel miserable.

Waah! At one point, I am happy to have got a chance to witness those beautiful orbs then at another instance I curse myself for being such a perv. And to top it all, this cold is making all things worse. God! Please cut me some slack and let me read this novel I've picked. I kept the book down irritatedly producing a loud sound that caught the attention of all the patrons. Shit!

'Could I BE anymore loud?', my Chandler inspired sarcastic side spoke up internally as I kicked myself under the table.

"Ved, this was not expected from you. Silence, please!", the chief librarian cautioned from his seat and I mouthed a sorry in response while turning towards his direction. To which he gently nodded and smiled in answer.

A very good start to the day. Congrats Ved Srivastava! First, you pissed off your Maa, then made a girl uncomfortable by staring at her eyes like a perv, and now spoiled your reputation in the library as well. Well done!

Before I could go back to my book, a familiar soft pleasant voice whisper was heard by me, "Hey, do you need any help? You look exhausted". It's the same voice, I heard a while ago. Yeah, it's the same one. God!

I immediately turned to my left at a lightning speed that I would have surely stiffened my neck tissues. Only to see the same bespectacled ravishing orbs staring right back at me in question. The moment I faced her, I am damn sure my heart skipped a beat. And this time it's not only because of those eyes but that charming face screaming grace. Honey-brown orbs are set perfectly along with well-sculpted brows, a sharp long nose with donning a small nose pin, black thick eye-lashes kissing her smooth rosy cheeks, and the plump luscious pink petals- all of them playing their ace game. Her shiny straight black-brown locks are left free giving her a classy look along with a cute floral summer frock hugging her petite frame. Her breathtaking looks are a sight to behold and I am pretty sure no man can keep standing on his legs after a mere glance at her. I repeat... no man!

She again asked pulling me out of my thoughts," Hey, are you fine?"

"Uh yes... yes I am fine", I replied immediately with a smile I could best muster at that time. I tried hard not to give away the whirlwind happening in me because of her and somehow got my haywire thoughts together. "You sure?" she asked again and I nodded furiously not knowing how to converse further humanely. Of course, it was a hell of a lot of tasks to talk to her without freaking out. I smiled reassuringly even though I am freaking out internally but she believed it and resumed her reading spree.

I again got back into my book but to be honest all my attention is etched upon her. Of course, how can a man be occupied with reading when a fairy herself is right in front of him? I stole little glances of her in between to not repeat my previous stupidity. She is reading also reading a novel named-'Shadow Princess' by Indu Sundarsen and is totally immersed into it that she hadn't caught me staring at her.

Suddenly she put down her book and took out a pencil from her handbag kept on the desk near her, forcing me to take off my eyes of her. Then her next action unleashed another set of butterflies in my stomach. Ufff! She took that pencil and twisted her straight locks in a bun. For any random person, it might seem unimportant but for a smitten man like me, it's a whole another deal. The way she made a bun out of her hair and stuck it with that pencil while reading the book. Damn! I skipped two heartbeats right there.

She resumed her reading totally oblivious from the fire she had set in my being. And I tried hard to concentrate on my book but failed miserably.

A few minutes passed and in between those I dared not to look at her. But all of a sudden I felt the desk trembling a little as if someone is squeezing their legs tightly making it tremble. Huh?

Then I looked up from my book and found that it was none other than this girl sitting in front of me. But why she is doing so? I squinted my eyes at her and saw her compelling deep eyes are closed with a little frown adorning on her forehead. How come she's reading with her eyes closed? But her next expression cleared all of my doubts.

A few seconds into that moment, a sudden relief washed over her senses as the frown on her forehead eased out on its own making the desk tremble a little more. It took me no rocket science to understand what it was.

She must have been reading that part of the book where the protagonist 'Jahanara' finally unites with her lover in the valleys of Kashmir, hence her reaction. How come I know this? Well, I have already read it and that part of the novel is exceptionally written so well that it holds the power to make anyone slip into the shoes of the protagonist and discover the unknown bodily pleasures.

Her disordered state looks extremely tempting and sexy. It sent a chill down my spine and I could feel a tantalizing desire blooming in my being. Like a moth gets attracted to a flame, I'm getting attracted to her with each passing minute.

Good Lord, how can this strange girl hold so much power over me that too without even trying? What is happening to me? Am I getting infatuated with her looks?

Shit!

I stood up with a jerk as realisation dawned upon me startling her as well. I immediately made my way to the shelves in the last corner to keep the book back at its place without looking back at her. I can't handle these emotions anymore. I need to get out of here. I hurried my steps towards the corner self and kept the book in its place panting heavily.

I should leave this place as soon as possible. Yeah!

I turned back only to get myself pushed into the wall behind by a sudden force applied which made me stumble a little in the process. And before I could comprehend who pushed me so harshly, a warm set of lips crashed on my petals taking over all of my senses in a fraction of seconds. I jerked my eyes open to see who it was and I met the same set of deep orbs looking straight at mine while her petals were doing their magic.

WHAT THE HELL SHE'S DOING? THAT TOO AT A WELL LIT PLACE...

She sensed my discomfort as I didn't respond and pulled away saying," Come on". And the next second she pulled me into a dark corner near the meeting point of the shelves and the wall where it will be difficult for anyone to see us. Once at the safer place, all of a sudden her cheeks became red as she realised her actions. I smirked inwardly as it was evident that she is equally smitten by me as I am with her.

And then without wasting time, I crashed my lips into her taking her by surprise this time. Of course, I can also surprise her, right! She took a few seconds to realise that I am kissing her but soon she started responding. Her luscious plump lips tasted of strawberry as I sucked on her lower lips. She took my upper lips and was sucking them more furiously as if it was a much-needed life-saving drug for her. I felt pride swelling in me as I realised her urgency and her desire for me.

After a few seconds, we pulled away when we ran out of air. But she couldn't control it anymore and again grabbed by my neck taking in the lower lips of mine. I responded equally and pulled her tightly into my arms as the carnal desire and bodily pleasure fire has got ignited furiously which is slowly turning into an inferno. All of a sudden she bite my lower petals asking for further access and I felt a zoo of butterflies when she did that. It was hot! I let her delve into my mouth and she dominated the kiss taking in all the pleasure. She moved her tongue seductively on mine creating goosebumps on my body while her hands moved in my hairs. And I couldn't contain my desire to explore her sweet regions, so fought back for dominance. She let me get into her mouth without much resistance, guess she was tired. I swirled my tongue upon hers and sucked a little as well. It went on for a few minutes till we were out of breath and we separated panting heavily still in each other's arms.

While panting, I dared not to miss her sexy and tempting trials of catching on her breath. And her swelled lips without any tint on them looked more appealing and tempting. A cute little mole on the base of her neck and just above her bosom lining kept distracting me all this while. Once, I got a hold of my breath I immediately delved into it and sucked upon her mole catching her off guard as she was still catching her breath. The hungry desire fire set ablaze by her has not been satisfied yet.

As I sucked it deeply, a low sexy moan escaped the confines of her mouth and I halted my actions. "Beautiful! Don't let them escape or else...", I whispered and she nodded not being able to say anything. I got back to planting kisses on her neck and she tried her best to not let her moans escape by keeping her palms over her mouth. I feasted upon her hungrily and she let me do all of them. I jerked her turning her back to me and pulled out the pencil setting her locks free. Her locks once set free smelled of roses making my senses go haywire even more. I moved them aside and placed trails of wet kisses on her nape pulling her more into me. I held her petite frame in my arms tightly and continued doing so while she arched her neck in such a way that provided me better access. When the desire-filled monster overpowered me, I kissed her where her neck met her shoulder and pulled her dress strap down clenching it in between my teeth, which gave me a little sneaky view of her bosom. Then, I couldn't contain my desire to touch them and did it.

But all of a sudden her left hand stopped me which jerked me back into my senses. She turned around immediately separating herself from my hold while panting a little and nodded in negative. I squinted my gaze on her in question to which she rolled her eyes at first and said dismissively, "Remember, it's a public library. Anyone can come at any moment. Thank God, we are lucky that we haven't got caught yet".

I nodded understandingly and tried gathering my senses and thoughts which were still reeling from the after-effects of the hot session. After a minute, I asked the thing which is assaulting my mind since the very beginning," Why?" She smiled while adjusting her appearance and said once done," To be honest, I don't know myself. But one thing I can tell you is that- while reading that novel, I couldn't help but picture you as the lover and myself as Princess Jahanara. As weird it might sound but I felt the urge of kissing you when I realised that you were gonna leave the library. And I did it anyway before any second thought could stop me".

To say I am shocked will be an understatement, I have left spellbound with her honesty. I thought at first that she will make up stories but she came clean to me. "But how were you so sure that I'll let you kiss me?" before I could even realise I spoke my mind to her. She chuckled lightly which was also very much tempting to hear but I controlled myself and heard her answering, "Well, anyone can tell how much smitten you were oh lemme correct... smitten you are by me. So, it was not a big deal for me to comprehend your discomfort".

She again surprised me with her quick wit and I must say she is intelligent not only by her looks but also from her brain. And I like this thing about her very much. Heck, I like everything about her from the tip of her hair to her sexy moans. Every damn thing!

"Okay, Mister! It was nice meeting you. Now, I gotta go", she shrugged and strode towards the desk hurriedly after checking her wristwatch even before I could ask her name. I did try calling her but it was so soft that she couldn't have heard me. Also, I can't go right after her or else anyone can doubt us, so I waited a while there reminiscing the events that just happened a while ago. We kissed, the library girl and me, kissed! It was urgent, hot, pleasurable, satisfying and every word used by eminent authors to explain a kiss in novels. Heck, it was the best kiss ever!

"Ved, what are you doing here? Your dear Kaka is searching for you along with a stick", the chief librarian suddenly appeared in front of me breaking my trance and stated chuckling lightly.

"Oh shit! I have promised Kaka that I'll leave early but...", I spoke up facepalming myself. I again started," Sir, please help me out", with my ever convincing puppy face and it worked as well. "Okay, fine! I'll send him on an errand and then you can sneak out of the library. But be fast, okay!", he exclaimed and went away after I nodded positively.

Once Kaka was sent on an errand, I quietly sneaked out of the library but of course not before knowing the name of my today's adventure that is my Library girl from the register. While mentioning my name in the register, I read the name written just above mine where she has signed before leaving as she left just a few minutes before me: Parineeta.

Parineeta. Such a lovely and melodious name! My library girl...

After that day he waited for her for days together but she never came back to the library... Maybe it was meant to remain as a mere infatuation...
