Resignation

When Scar wakes up, after far too little sleep, he smiles. He feels good today. Nothing's worrying him. Last Session was great, and he actually enjoyed himself. There's only a handful of people with Yellow names left, and then, it'll be time for the last Session. "You're in a very positive mood. What has come over you?" Xian wonders, and Scar shrugs. "I think I figured it out. I've been doing it all wrong. Last Session proved that to me. Xerean wanted me not to use these powers, and look what's happened! Nothing but trouble. They keep popping up, even when I don't want to use them. But when I did, on purpose, when I was in control, oh." Scar chuckles, feeling happier than he can remember having been in the past month. Mentally beating himself up over things and issues, and not knowing how to handle the situation properly was too stressful. "It was absolutely amazing. So rather than shun the powers, why not embrace it? These are games where you have to kill other people, and be ruthless to win. So that's what I'll be. And maybe, I'll have a little fun with it, too." He replies, choosing to use magic to catch his scroll as it appears, done with a casual wave of his hand as he speaks. "That is quite a sudden change. A good one, but sudden. If that is your choice, then I will elaborate upon what I need of you. As you already know, I intend to have you kill the rest of them. You picked that up well. It reaches further, though. I intend for you to cause ruin. You seem quite ready for that, as you are now. No longer questioning, but wild. Mouldable, but setting yourself. You're trying to make your own decisions, have your own plans, but at least for now yours and mine coincide, so that as of now, I will lay back. If I require you to do a specific task, I will tell you, and you will do it. I have said this before, but this is where it truly matters. Otherwise, I must keep the Watcher from damaging more of the Code. It cannot be allowed to continue as it has." Xian explains, a bitter, hateful venom seeping into his last sentence, and Scar nods. He doesn't entirely agree with the idea of being FORCED to kill them, he'd rather do it on his own terms(and with hopefully no worse consequence), but surely he can handle this, he thinks. And after, it's over and he can be done. He'll return to Hermitcraft, and Xerean should be able to figure it out and fix him. He reminds himself of this mostly to placate the nervous wreck of himself that he's slowly been burying, and for now, he's willing to do whatever Xian needs if it ends in some chaos. On that note, Scar opens the Task. He grins. "Perfect." He has to sabotage three Red bases. "But first, I'll do a few other things."

Those few things include making himself a creeper farm and having an encounter with Martyn, taking up a day, then talking to and shooting at Joel. At some point, a Red Lifer tries to come in, and he shoots at them. Later that day, Skizz, BigB, and Tango come to pester him, prompting him to shoot at BigB and Tango. In his defense, he asked them NICELY to leave, and they didn't, so if he smirked at BigB having been hit, it was justified. Eventually, he throws a pouch of gunpowder at Skizz, who catches it, peers inside, then looks back up at him in delight, in his desperation to make them leave. "Well, seems like as good a time as any to do my Task. Maybe I can finally finish burning that heart." He decides, the gunpowder seemingly enough to make them head off on their merry way. The first thing he does is set fire to Joel's Ferris Wheel again, he'd put it out relatively quickly after he'd set it aflame. Then, he goes and sets fire to the top of his house, rigs his door, and sets a trap over at Martyn's place. Finally, while Love Island is left unattended, Scar ensures that the heart will burn. He pours some lava on it, then sets a TNT trap to hopefully at least hurt one of them. He watches the build burn, then teleports back to his place, very pleased. "There we go." He sighs. He's sure that Skizz will come after him for this, but he doesn't care. In the next few weeks, they'll all be dead, and it won't matter anymore. All that's left is to watch the world burn.

He stays home, but he was right, it doesn't take long for Skizz, Tango, and BigB to come over, clearly enraged. "Hello! Welcome to the...shambles that were once Trader Scar's." He announces, poking his head out of a hole in the wall. "Did you burn the heart? Again?" Skizz demands. Scar nods, smiling still. "Mhm! I burned your place, and Joel's place, and if we're lucky, Martyn's place will blow up." He replies, and Tango's ears lay down and flat, looking between him and Skizz. "You what?!" BigB asks, surprised. "You heard me." Scar tells him, and Skizz stomps up to him angrily. Scar regards him with an easy gaze. He can't help it, he finds their anger sort of funny. "What's happened to you?! All Season, you've been causing issues for people. Do you want enemies?" Scar shrugs. It's not like he's not managed to do so before. "Again, I was tired of playing nice. It was boring. This, this is fun." Skizz shakes his head, and glares at Scar. "You've made yourself an enemy, Scar." He warns, then turns around to leave. "Oh, I know." Scar replies quietly, watching him go. Tango and BigB follow close behind, a little faster than a normal-paced walk. It's then he hears the faint, quiet hissing sound. Scar frowns, looking around for it, assuming Skizz to have thrown the dynamite in since it sounds so close. By the time he realizes it's outside, it goes off.

He's hit with immense pain for a moment, then sits up in another room. Panting heavily, he feels his face. Below his left eye are two new scars, some pieces of the wall had hit him when it exploded. Scar yells, a raw, furious noise of howling anger. They killed him! Probably using the gunpowder he gave them earlier to make them leave PEACEFULLY. Things around him start to glitch, turning into different textures or creating weird holes that seem to show into things like cave systems, and thick, black vines coil everywhere, covered in thorns. Taking a few more deep breaths, Scar looks around and actually realizes what he's done. The vines have wrapped around an armour stand and broken it, stabbed through a chest, and smothered the light. Growling, he gets out of the bed and stands. His poncho's changed colors, now. The sunflowers are no longer yellow, now a sort of magenta-pink-red that catches attention and pops vibrantly in comparison to the near-black purple of the poncho itself. There's some faded, grey-purple lilacs and a few roses weaved in, too, and tears and holes where the blast hit him. If he weren't so mad, he would have appreciated the design better. But he can't think of that right now. Chaos Scar is officially here, and the gloves are off. "You are enraged. Why? What makes it so different this time from the other times?" Xian questions, and Scar snarls. "They killed me! Sure, I burned their heart, but they blew up my base, too! I tried to get them to go away!" He spits. Is he thinking rationally? He thinks so. But even if he isn't, Scar doesn't care anymore. He's Red, everyone's going to die soon anyway, so screw it. "You wanted me to kill people, right? To kill Xerean?" He asks, grabbing his Lightsaber. "Well, I can do that now."

Apparently, Martyn's base DID blow up, he just fixed it, so Scar deems his Task completed, and hits Succeed. The pain doesn't bother him this time. Now, he gets a Red Task. He leaves it for the time being, instead deciding to go wander the Server. He wants to hurt someone, he's still fuming. "Save your time for the Yellows. They have more lives. The Reds can wait." Xian advises, and Scar begrudgingly agrees. "I'll still hurt them, though." He adds. As of that moment, he has officially declared war against the Heart Foundation, and vowed he will end them himself. Sure, if someone else gets to them before he does, that'd be helpful, but they're his first-priority targets. He has to play (relatively) 'nice' for a few more days, just a few, then he can do whatever he wants. Despite this, Scar manages to attack Tango twice, shooting him with a bow, and chasing him down for a while. It makes him feel a little bit better.

Gem has rallied (most of) the Reds, and is trying to attack Grian's group; even as Scar watches, Grian flies up and out of the entrance to his base and onto the mountain it's built into. "Hey, Scar! Tango and Skizz are heading over to try and attack them." Gem greets, then seems to notice the shift in him and leaves him alone to watch. He sees the moment Martyn uses an End Crystal to hurt Grian, then flee, he watches Etho, Scott, and Xerean deal with Skizz, while Cleo goes to try and help Grian with Tango, and Gem and the others leave, instead going off to hunt Pearl, whom they get almost instantly. Scar stays with them, so when Pearl and Gem hop on a camel, he follows them to intercept the Roomies' venture. Xerean's with them, looking tired but lively at the same time. Grian flares his wings, and Xerean locks eyes with him. They hold it there for a moment, until he moves his gaze to watch Etho. He doesn't hear what Pearl or Grian say, but he does notice when Grian suddenly runs past him. Scar turns to give chase, then stops to watch the arrow that kills him. He turns to Pearl, who has already moved on to the remaining three. Xerean's looking a little lost, but snaps back to reality as Etho gives her his dripstone and tells her to go, saying they'll be fine. She runs off, and while Scar's tempted to go after her, he decides to go for Etho, who's chugged an invisibility potion and thrown an Ender Pearl away. Teleporting after him to his general vicinity, he starts to give chase. "Etho, where are you?" He calls, looking for whorls or unnatural disturbances. They're back near the mountain that the Roomies live in, so he assumes Etho is planning to circle back around to hide in his base and starts looking for signs that he'd ran. Instead, something hits him in the shoulder, so he spins, reaching out to see if he can grab it. He doesn't manage to, but he does brush armour, so it is Etho. "You only have so long with that potion, Etho, do you really want to use it like that?" He calls, walking around slowly, alert and wary of another attack. He gets whacked in the shoulder, then hit in the jaw. When he goes to try and retaliate, Etho's out of range, and so he tries looking for him through other means. Scar grunts, wiping off some of the blood leaking from his nose. Suddenly, something barrels into him, and he rolls down the hill with Etho, trading blows with the invisible man, and taking hearts from one another, before they fall into the water. Scar tells himself to have gills, and starts looking for the Canadian. There's ripples at the surface, and then, his potion must have ran out, because he appears(unless water had effects on potions that he was unaware of). Scar strikes, cutting him down with his blade and climbing back up to solid ground. He lays there, chuckling to himself. Etho's red now, as is Cleo. Grian should call end of Session soon, in the next few hours. Scott and Impulse are the only two left on Yellow. Surely the other Reds are aware of this, but if they killed them, they could get everyone on Red. Then, Scar would be able to legitimately fight. As fun as pursuing his targets is, he wants to fight. Specifically Xerean. He's not sure how he feels about her exactly. He feels angry and sad that she wasn't there to help him, but he doesn't want her help, so he's also mad that she attempted to offer at all, like she thought he was weak, or couldn't handle it. He wants to kill people in general, but deep, deep down, he wants friends. Partially of his own doing, he only has enemies. And that's fine, he can work with that, but pre-Chaos-magic-and-unhinged-wishes Scar misses company that he knows. Again, he reminds himself, after this is all over, Xerean will return to Hermitcraft, and she'll talk to Jabber and they'll fix it. He's sure of it. He's enjoying it, but again, pre-Chaos-magic-and-unhinged-wishes Scar wants it to be over. He's so tired. He's not sure where this energy came from, but he's pretty sure he's gonna crash, HARD, back home. Though, for now, he'll indulge the urge to cause chaos.

Scar walks around, mostly searching for Scott or Impulse to kill. While it takes him pretty close to the end of the Session, he manages to snipe Impulse from afar. Once the Session officially ends, he goes and stands under Xerean, still perched on the Secret Keeper. Grian announces they have two days before the Session starts this time, and sends them off. Scar hops up and pushes Xerean back down, pausing time and keeping it that way in the back of his head in case she tries to mess with it. "Hello there." Scar says, smiling. Xerean doesn't reply, shifting her gaze to observe their frozen acquaintances. "What, no greetings for your best friend?" He asks, acting offended. He really couldn't care less, in fact he hopes she doesn't care, or at least wants to avoid him. He doesn't want her to keep letting her altruistic urge to help to keep him from this. He leans to one side to see her face, and she sighs, closing her eyes for a moment. "What do you want?" She asks, so Scar moves back. "Just to talk." He replies innocently, sitting down as well. "In two days, war is gonna break out. It'll be everyone for themselves, but you, you don't do so well when it comes to hurting people, even here, you're too soft and continue to apologize when you hurt someone. But me, I've been cuttin' people down left, right, and center. I'll bet we'll be on opposite sides. And I want a real fight." He leans in, smirking at the flicker of caution and worry she expresses. "Don't disappoint me." He says, then stands up and hops down, releasing the hold on time as he passes the statue. "You've changed greatly. Even my associates did not anticipate such a fast change when they set this place up. I would call your change an anomaly if it weren't for the many factors logically contributing to it." Xian informs him, now a wispy figure keeping stride alongside him. "What's that supposed to mean? You've gone from distant and arrogant to...relaxed, not so high-and-mighty sounding. What is that, a compliment?" Scar asks, barely glancing at the figure. "I suppose, of sorts. Before, you had little reason to have gained my familiarity or respect. We have spoken together for about two months, now. I needn't be so harsh on one who's transitioning to become one of the strongest beings of Chaos, after all. We will not be so different, soon." Scar stops, cocking his head. "I never asked, did I? What ARE you? A Watcher? A Chaos Witch? Or, Chaos Wizard?" Xian sighs. "She has already said this. There is no such THING as a Chaos Wizard. 'Witch' is part of the title, not the indication of what gender we are. And I suppose that would answer your question. I am also a Chaos Witch." He replies, and Scar's eyes widen. "Was it YOU that brought her here?" Xian nods, still beside him. "My accomplices helped, immersing her in Code, and keeping her powers sealed, but I am the one who organized the event and initially took her." He turns, several things appearing and clicking at once. "You're her father." He realizes, a small spike of fear hitting him, but mostly he's just shocked. They all thought Xerean and Jabber managed to get him to go away for good. Xian nods, eyes shifting to a proud, malevolent look. "I am. Does this make you have some qualms about your wishes?" Xian steps forward, and a slight pressure forms in his skull. "No. But when I go home, I can tell her." He challenges. "You think she would trust you? Or that I would allow you to? I may not have hold on you as MUCH as I'd like, and it may ebbing away as you grow, but it is overtaking you, though perhaps you have never been the same to begin with." Scar huffs. "So you're not threatened by the fact I could rat you out at any moment?" Xian shakes his head, then steps forward, looming over Scar in a clearly warning manner. "No, because for however strong you may claim to be, you are still mortal. You were not conceived as she and I have been. You will fall to trial by my hand, and I warn that you don't want to see what that entails." He says, which is a fair point, which Scar hates. "I can tell you still have a bit of doubt, now knowing who I am. You still think you can tell  her and be rid of me, of these powers, the cravings for Chaos and pain. You can give in and allow my will to be carried out, or I can force you to, and I will make you lose all hope of reconnecting with her. Understand? She already feels betrayed, I will not hesitate to pass a point of no return." Scar, as much as he wants to kill her, isn't THAT angry with her. He doesn't think. Is he? He can't wholly tell, but as confused as he is, he knows he has a genuine friendship with her. This is a moment to choose the lesser of two evils. At least if he's in control, he can choose how she dies, right? "You're a monster, you know that?" He says, and Xian chuckles. "So are you." He replies.

Scar refuses to speak with him after that. He'll let this insanity consume him a bit, he always gets hungry for a little bloodshed on Red, and the lack of sleep doesn't help his desires, either. He also knows Xerean isn't an easy opponent. He knows a few things, but she's done this hundreds of years longer than he's been alive. He needs to get better. "I will help you learn to fight her." Xian announces, standing in his doorway. He's underground, now, since Trader Scar's is nothing more than a few broken timbers and logs. "And how do you plan to do that? You said you can't physically affect the world or whatever, right?" Xian nods, folding his arms behind his back. "This is true, but I still know far more about how she fights than you do. I know that she favors quick moves rather than pure, blunt force, she often teleports around to avoid attacks, and tries to take advantage of her flexibility, agility, and speed to get the upper hand. It isn't all about her power, it's about how she applies it." He explains, and Scar thinks back to the friendly challenges they'd do. He's seen her fight for real, as well, the impressive feats she displayed in the battle for the Rift. "She's a sharpshooter, too." He adds. "Yes. If you keep her defending, stay close, and keep her from getting out of range, she won't be as capable of attacking. Then, it's a matter of how long she can defend herself. The Watcher will most likely assist her, so you'll be dealing with multiple assailants at once." Xian tells him more tactics and skills Xerean used and how he may go about avoiding or countering them, then leaves him alone to 'truly prepare' for the remaining time(a day and a half).

He does so, not pausing when he gets tired, doing whatever he can and teaching himself anything he might find useful.

Then, the day comes.

The end has arrived.
