Very Very Frightening- Charged Intentions
Donar had never been serious with a girl, he only had entertained one night stands. But as this bachelor approached his thirties, he began looking for a serious relationship.
He met Lillia at a local pub, her brown eyes drawing him in almost immediately. They'd struck up a conversation, and it just kept going from there.
She was visiting his flat, staying the night. He took the couch, as he knew that this kind of sacrifice made the ladies go crazy. But he wanted to be close to her, and needed an excuse to do so.
An idea sparked in his mind. Focusing for a minute, he willed the clouds to darken, to begin to storm. And the clouds did so. The smile he flashed was almost as bright as the lightning that streaked across the sky, and he didn't have to wait long before the booming of thunder rolled out.
Eventually, Lillia emerged from her room, her jet black hair a mess and her pajamas wrinkled.
"You're up too," she said, quietly padding across the room to join him at the couch.
"It's quite a storm, isn't it?" he replied.
They sat on opposite ends of the couch, but Donar had to suppress a smirk when the next roll of thunder encouraged her closer to him. She was shaking like a leaf.
He frowned, feeling a slight bit guilty for scaring her. But his plan was working.
"C'mere," he said gently, motioning her over with his arm.
She sat right next to him, leaning into him when it thundered. He savored the company, and his success. But that happiness shattered when he noticed that as the storm worsened, a sob broke out, and the terror that gripped her throat made it hard for her to breathe.
"Shit," he muttered, feeling terrible that he caused this for the sake of getting close to her. "That's enough," he told the clouds under his breath, and the storm eased up, eventually ceasing completely.
Unfortunately, she heard him. "What?" she asked, looking into his eyes.
"Nothing," he said, much too quickly.
"Did you say, 'that's enough'? Don't you think I'd stop crying if I could? I'm working on it, you know," she said.
"Oh, I wasn't talking to you, I was talking to the storm." he said quickly, but then his eyes widened when he realized what he said.
"Well it seemed to have worked," she said, relief painting her features.
He sighed, also feeling relief, but for a different reason.
