Photobombed - Aim and Shoot
Daisy was bored. While on a break from her studies, she and her best friend Ellie were traveling around Europe, in an adventure of a lifetime. However, at this point, her friend wanted to stop and watch this parade that they happened to stumble upon during their exploration of the city.
Daisy begrudgingly obliged, knowing that it was only fair since she had made a point in dragging Ellie to the Louvre the day before. At least she had her trusty Canon camera to take pictures of the parade, something to keep herself busy and somewhat entertained.
Just beyond the colorful flags that performers were twirling, there came a succession of jeeps. The passengers consisted of a few men in uniform, as well as a gentleman in a crisp suit and tie. A politician, she guessed, by his posture, and the way he addressed the cheering crowd.
Daisy stood from where she was seated at the top of the bleachers so she could get the ideal photo. She held the camera up to her eye, and the camera's lense focused on the well-dressed man. Her finger rested on the button, and as she snapped the shot, another type of shot rang out. There seemed to be a moment where everything was still, the reality of the moment catching up to everyone. The politician was dead. Screams erupted, as people scattered and ran, the crowd pushing and pulsing in a race to escape.
She stood frozen, heart beating wildly. Beside her, Ellie was yelling something at her, but she couldn't seem to snap out of her trance until a bullet whizzed passed her ear, barely missing. The assassin must have seen her take the photo. That was the only reason she could think of as to why she was being targeted.
With shaking hands, she ejected the camera's memory card, and then placed her camera on the top railing of the bleachers. She then jumped off of the back of the bleachers, landing hard and nearly twisting her ankle. She flattened her body against the dirt, and hoped she was safer now that she was behind the metal bleachers.
She looked up at the camera that was sitting at the top, and witnessed two more bullets hitting her camera, the shattering glass and plastic raining down. Adrenaline still rushing through her veins and heart beat in her ears, Daisy knew that this was far from over.
