Jackie's phone buzzed on the hotel bed, and she grabbed it while trying to keep her head as still as possible because her cousin was curling her hair behind her.

Glancing at the caller ID, she got a little worried because it was the best man who was calling.

She took a deep breath and answered,"Hello?"

"Yo, your fiancé is freaking out over here. He's got that- what do you call it? Cold feet? Anyway, he wanted to talk to you."

She sighed, small smile forming on her lips. "Put him on," she said.

"Hi Jackie, I'm sorry for bothering you but I am really nervous like oh my gosh, I don't know if I can do this, what if I'm a terrible husband and-"

"George," she cut in. "Take a deep breath for me, hun."

She heard him take a breath, and satisfied, she continued, "You'll be just fine babe, I think I wouldn't have accepted your proposal if I didn't think you'd make a great husband."

"Are you sure? Are you just being nice? Like, you feel bad for me or something?"

"George, no, that's not how I work. Do you remember that I found your character honorable? When we were dancing at the ball, do you remember any of our conversation?"

"Oh yeah," said George, "You wanted to know how I was able to stay positive and kind in the face of hardship."

"Exactly. And do you think someone would try to track a person down using a shoe, just for a charity case?"

"No," George laughed, "I'm sorry, I guess I forgot about all of that."

"It's fine, it happens," smiled Jackie. "Are you alright now?"

"Yes," he said.

"Okay, I'll see you in a bit, yeah?"

"Yeah."

Once she hung up, she smiled. In mere hours, she would be married to this goofball, and she couldn't wait. She turned to glance at her beautiful gown hanging in the closet. It was time to get this Cinderella ready for her ball.
