It was a Friday night, and me and my friends were at the local pub.

"How is it that you, matchmaker extraordinaire, CEO and founder of the most famous dating platform for the fantastical community, hasn't been on one date for five years?" My friend with snakes in her head asked.

I was suddenly more grateful for the whiskey in my hand. It was necessary if we were going to talk about my love life. Again.

I suppose being Cupid kind of makes that an occupational hazard.

"I've been busy! I actually run Love Struck Inc, it's not like the CEO just sits around all day."

"Whaaat?" Gasped my other friend, Aquafina, in mock surprise.

"I know, right? Unbelievable!" I chuckled.

"You got that right," muttered Medusa, shaking her head. But then her head full of snakes shot up, with an all too familiar gleam in her eye.

Well, behind her sunglasses, that is. She was in public after all.

"You should make your own profile on Love Struck!" She shrieked, and I winced.

When Aquafina lit up at her idea, and I knew that I wasn't getting off the hook for this one.

Sighing in resignation, I pulled my phone out to make an account. It took a minute to get out of the admin mode on the app, but once I did so, the phone was plucked out of my hand with a "hey!" from me.

"Okay, girl, let's get you a date," my aquatic friend winked at me, and I

rolled my eyes.

For the next fifteen minutes, they set up my profile, not letting me peek at their antics.

When they got to the photos, and they were giggling like mad. "Yeah, the one from our vacation in Cabo!"

Aquafina said, and I tried to lunge at them in attempt to get my phone back, but Medusa would bat my hand away and said,

"Not until after!"

I groaned.

Finally, they were done.

I looked over the profile and it actually wasn't bad. My bio was a little cringy, but I hoped that folks would understand that it probably wasn't me who wrote it.

It said:

"Q", or "Cupid," to pretty much everyone else in the universe, is a hardworking chick who knows how to have a good time and is definitely an expert on romance :wink: "

And then there's one of the selfies we took in Cabo, just like they promised. They have my photo from the conference I went to last spring, and a headshot picture of me for the profile picture.

"Not bad!" I said, looking at them. Medusa spawned a smug look, and Aquafina looked delighted.

A notification on my phone that said I had a new message. We all looked at each other for a second, and then back to the phone as I wasted no time in opening the message.

"Wait..." Medusa said.

Aquafina muttered, "...that's..."

"...Harry fucking Hades!" I exclaimed.

What did I get myself into?
