11・ Marvin
Coming back from my swim practice, I was exhausted. I was ready to write in my diary and call it a night. But to my horror, once I entered my bedroom, I discovered that the coveted place in my nightstand drawer where I kept my secret diary was empty and my diary was nowhere to be seen.
I was way too tired for this. I just swam for hours on end, and my crush was in the lane next to me. I needed to find that diary and it stressed me out so much to imagine if someone found it or took it or read it. My life would be over.
It was then I heard a stifled giggle from underneath my bed and I rolled my eyes.
"Marvin!" I yelled, exasperated.
"What?" came the defensive reply, but he knew that he was in trouble.
"How many times have I told you NOT to read my diary?"
"It's more interesting than any of the other lame books you have here. And they're fictional too, I'd rather read the real stuff. How else am I supposed to entertain myself while you're at school all day?"
I was not amused. I have had this conversation with him several times.
"Give. It. Back. Now." I said.
A long sigh emanated from the bed. "Fiiiine," and with that, my journal seemed to launch itself from underneath, covered in dust bunnies and alien slime. Gross, not again!
I muttered an annoyed, "Thank you." I was going to have to invest in a safe.
