And they say you shouldn't change yourself for others
But how can they say that when they don't know what it's like

'Too weird.'

'Too energetic.'

'Always happy.'

'Didn't expect that.'

'Didn't know you could even speak that loud.'

'Really thought you would never shut up.'

'Oh my are you okay.'

'You're laughing so you must be fine.'

Always putting on a brave face, laughing with others and smiling at them to make them happy

I really don't mind helping others
In fact it gives me joy

But always being happy is hard
Yet it's not an act

They always say I have to change everything about me. Fix your posture. Do up your hair. Eat an apple. Don't be late. Watch this. Enjoy this. Stop doing that. You're one of us now. And I'll try so hard to fit in.

I try to break out of that cycle but I'm always brought back to it. I'm trying to be more of me but in the end I'm controlled by others. I'm a puppet on the strings. Dancing across the stage because of another's hand gestures.

You only have one life so don't squander it. Live it to the fullest they say. Though I can see why some others choose to end it. The world is full of hate. The best way to handle a hater is to ignore them but I saw one a while back and I wanted to fight them. Don't stoop down to their level. Don't stoop down to their level. Patience yields focus. Calm brings patience.

Life isn't easy and we should stop treating it like a game of luck. You make your own luck. Your family may have been their to make your beginner's luck however it is you who truly paves your path. You choose the road to go down. If you want to make a difference you have to find the courage and drive by yourself. Good luck to all of you out there trying to find your way.
