The Forbidden forest

LiviieMarie writing contest

"Hurry up Ciel! We're going to be late!" Ophera shouted as she dragged the young earl down the dark alley. Prince Soma and Queen Marthera tagged along as well leaving their supernatural servants behind. Ciel, who looked as afraid as prey before a predator, thought to himself, 'If only I didn't order Sebastian to stay put.'

Marthera chuckled to herself. "Oh Ciel, you're not afraid of the dark are you?"

He glared at her. "I am not. I just-"

"Depend on Sebastian too much," Soma finished for him. "You're the most needy man I've ever seen in my life Ciel."

Ciel growled before Ophera started to drag him again.

Meanwhile, back at the manor, the supernatural servants sat next the door waiting for their masters to return.

"Where do you think those crazy kids went?" Sebastian asked the other two. Agni shrugged while Barabara looked like she had see the worst monster in her life. Sebastian had a bad feeling churning in his stomach.

"Barabara, where did they go?" He asked her.

"Where do you think they went?! They went to the forbidden forest! Even I'm not aloud in there! Ophera can't control her powers yet, and they'll die out there! We have to save them!" She shouted. Agni got up and wrapped his arms around  her waist.

"It's alright my love, we'll find a way for them to be safe," he reassured her. She leaned back against him.

"I know, but I can't stand my queen being out there with an apprentice and wits for protection. Hopefully, one of them chickens out at the last out before they reach the gate. There are monsters inside the gates...."

Sebastian looked extremely worried. "Oh no...I can't  have Ciel die!" He grabbed Barabara by the collar of her dress. "Please, Barabara, do something!

She pushed him off before Agni reacted. "I'll try, but I know for one thing: one of them is going to call us."

The group stopped infront of a gate made of a strange, unearthly material. The sounds behind the gate made Ciel's skin crawl. The other three were bubbling with excitement.

"I wonder what's inside," Soma chipped.

"Me too! I hope we find a demon to befriend," Ophera said with excitement.

Ciel sighed and whispered, "Sebastian, come save us, that's an order."

Marthera already had her hands on the gate. "Well, let's find out shall we?" The others except for Ciel helped Marthera open the gates. The feeling of death clouded around them. Ciel shivered.

"I think it's time to go home," he said finishing with a nervous chuckle. The others looked at him.

"You're such a party pooper, Ciel," Marthera said. "Come on, no monster will get us. I know this for sure."

Ciel looked down the path they came from and went inside with the rest of the group.

The kids walked down the dark path hearing strange noises in the dark and lots of eyes. Soma started to regret his decision and turned to Marthera and Ophera.

"Um...I think it's time to go," he whispered softly.

"I agree. That's the smartest thing you've said ever," Ciel commented.

Ophera scowled and turned to them. "You guys are just cowards! Every time I try to plan to do something fun, you guys chicken out!" Then she started to ramble on about how boring their lives were. Ciel opened his mouth to retort back when all the words just flew off his tongue. Behind Ophera was a huge demon that was literally breathing down her neck.

"Ophera!" Marthera hissed.

"What?!" She snapped just to be silenced by a menacing growl. She slowly turned around to face the demon lizard. It's red eyes looked at all of them laced with hate.

"Should we run now?" Soma asked then still looking at the monster.

Ophera was already running and screaming her head off as the monster chased her. The rest followed after her screaming and calling their supernatural servants.

Barbara, Agni, and Sebastian were racing to the screams of their masters. Ciel was seen first running out the gate followed by Some, Marthera, and Ophera. Ciel ran into Sebastian's arms clinging onto him.

"Sebastian, kill it! Get rid of it!" He shouted, his eyes as wide as moons.  "I'm scared," he added softly hurting his face in his chest. Sebastian hugged him close and looked at the other two.

"What should we do?" He asked them. Barbara smiled.

"Leave that to me." She took out a whip and cracked it at the gate towards the angry beast. The monster charged her in it's blind rage, but she wrapped it in a tight with the whip. It was made with a material that burned its skin making it roar in pain. She flicked the whip away from them flinging it further into the forest. Sebastian and Agni closed the gate. Barbara turned to the kids with her hands her hips.

"Now, have you learned your session about going into forbidden places," she said.

They nodded. "Yes Barbara," they said in unison. She nodded and turned around.

"Come on kids, time to go back;  it's rather late," Sebastian said following Barbara and Agni.

As the kids were following the adults, Ophera said to them, "Next time at the old haunted dock?"

The other cheered as Ciel groaned. Was he ever going to get peace?
