"Ugh! Why did he have to do that?" I asked myself as I walked away from the bar as quickly as I could. My boyfriend just broke up with me, and three days before Christmas? I was still I'm shock about how he had the nerve to ditch me close to the holidays. I sighed passing the shops on the street while getting hit on by the low lives that loitered near the entrance of the shops. Tonight was not my night.

I saw that the sidewalk to my condo was having some work done. I groaned in frustration looking up at the sky. Could my night get any worst? Oh! I spoke too soon. Grey clouds rolled in like a herd of wild horses that ran through a meadow of grey and white dust.

My eyes rolled around my head trying to look for a detour before the blizzard comes. After about a minute of panicked searching, I found the detour to my condo, but it was a dark alley. 'Well, it's better than nothing,' I told myself. My gut had a funny feeling about that alley, and my mind filled with dreaded thoughts of what can happen in that alley. I forced those thoughts out of my head and put on a determined expression on my face. I marched down the dark alley as quickly as my little 5'5" legs could carry me.

The further I got, the more the wind picked up, the more colder the weather became, the more my courage fluttered away like the wind. I don't think I reached the middle and I was already shivering more from fear than cold. I was strangely warm, so why was I shaking? It was from the fear inside of this dark alley, for the dark in general. I've never been so scared in my life. I've always been scared of the dark, and this was not helping me one bit.

My feet were stuck to the ground as if I walked right into wet cement. Paralyzed with fear I let my imagination run wild as the shadows formed into shapes of demons that choose this time and moment to torment me. They laughed and jeered at my stricken state, they ran circles around me.

The shadows grew bigger and bigger as they spun around me faster and faster. I squeezed my eyes shut, and I held my hands to my head  releasing a blood cruddling scream. By the time I opened my eyes, I saw that the shadows were gone. I sighed in relief. The shadows were gone. I took a few steps back when I bumbed into someone's strong chest. I froze feeling a deep eruption spurring from their chest.

"Hello there, sweetie," the deep voice said. I identified it as male. I turned around and saw a man with hair as black as night, very pale skin free of blemishes, and eyes that sparkled in the dim moonlight. He caught me staring and flashed me a wide grin showing off his perfect, white teeth. I knew right then and there what he was.

"Vampire," I whispered. He chuckled which seemed to have no emotion. I couldn't tell if it was a mysterious chuckle, a humorous chuckle, or an evil chuckle.

"My, aren't you clever?" He laughed revealing his fangs to me. They looked pretty sharp, like needle sharp, and I wasn't about to stick around to find out how sharp either. I gave him a sweet smile as I slowly backed away from him.

"Nice meeting you, but I have to get home. Kids are hungry, husband doesn't know how to take care of the kids, and Teen Wolf, so I gotta go," I told him.

I made a run for it, but it seemed as if he was too fast for me (well duh! Vampires are going to be faster!) He grabbed me by my arm and spun me around to face him. He mysteriously grinned at me as he pulled me closer to him.

"Where are you going miss? I know you don't have a husband or kids, and I overheard that your boyfriend dumped you. Too bad, he passed up on a beautiful lady such as yourself," he said. I looked at him in shock. Was he following me the entire time? I looked into his golden eyes searching for an answer but found none. I flashed him a quick smile before kicking him between the legs. I ran as fast as I could as he screamed in pain. I smiled in triumph. So a vampire can feel pain...those myths aren't true after all.

I kept running until I saw my condo. The snow started to fall, but I didn't care. Home was right in my sights. Just a little bit closer...

In a flash the vampire caught me with his steel strong grip. I gasped in surprise and fought back with all my might, but he was too strong for a weak girl like me.

"Now, now, I was going to let you go, but since you kicked me in the crouch, I'll have to bring you home for dinner," he sneered.

"No!" I screamed. "Help!"

"No one will hear you scream into the silent night." And with that he sped down the alley to my doom. I screamed as loud as I could, but no one could hear me. No one heard my screamed into the silent night.
