Once, I was still a normal girl. No masks, no capes, no superpowers.

I live in a world where superheroes are the city's protector. I remember my first save like a movie playing in my head. I was in a ballet lesson when suddenly, the lights flickered and turned off. The music player was filled with static, as the shrieks filled the room. Someone came in and threatened to kill us.

Ms. Everia all hurried us out, but I didn't make it. Before I left the room, the villain, who I learned later was Voltress, the supervillain with electric superpowers, dragged me in. I was alone and scared.

She shot a laser at me, which I managed to dodge swiftly. She shot a few more, but they only made holes and dents in the mirrors behind me. That's when I finally dared to peek.

 Our distance wasn't far at all. So without thinking, my leg lifted itself and smacked the laser pistol out of her hands. We both raced to get it. She was sprinting to it while I leaped on top of it.

Unfortunately, my aim was off by an inch. Instead, Voltress accomplish to collect the gun and crouched on top of my stomach, to block me from escaping. By then, I was pretty sure she had me. I was panicking, wondering how and why I got myself into this situation.

"Please don't!" I squeaked, but it only made her sly grin bigger. I'd rather be anywhere but here right now, I thought. I squeezed my eyes shut, bracing for the impact of the blazing hot laser.

A few seconds passed, and I should've felt the burn. Confused as I was, I risked opening my eyes. I was nowhere near Voltress, but I was lying in the same position, just behind her. It seems like it wasn't any of Voltress' magic because she seemed confused too. She looked left and right for my body, but I wasn't there. I was behind her.

That's when I charged towards her. Since she was still crouched, I rammed into her and hovered over her, taking the power. I took the laser gun that she dropped and pointed it at her. That's when she finally surrendered. At the same time, our town's superhero, Shadowtress came in and stopped all the nonsense.

Shadowtress was my idol and still is. Later on that day, we visited her sneaky hideout, what she called the 'Shade Fort'. Long story short, I learned that I had superpowers. I used my one of them, teleportation, without knowing it, during the fight.

From that day on, I had two lives, two identities. I was a normal school girl on one side, and the other, I was a superhero sidekick for Shadowtress.

I even received my own mask, as a sign of being a real, official superhero sidekick.

People call me Callie Jade. But little do they know, I'm also Aerielella. I'm that superhero.
