Wanted

"You're a fucking mistake!!" He yelled, slashing the belt across her back. She screamed in pain, her eyes sore and red and puffy but she didn't care. She has dealt with this since she was 5 and the pain never goes away. Her dad doesn't love her because she is different.

"Go die you stupid piece of shit!!" The man chucked the belt to the side after about 20-30 lashes and grabbed an empty beer bottle. He slammed the bottle against his child's head. She fell to the ground, little bits of glass under her but small and dull enough not to hurt her. He walks out the front door and slams it, leaving the girl alone for a while.

She walked upstairs and took off her shirt, turning around so her back was to the mirror. She didn't flinch at the sight of the cuts, gashes, bruises, or anything else. She repeatedly said these phrases over and over again as she cut herself with a pocket knife she keeps in the cabinet.

I'm fat

I'm ugly

I am a piece of shit

I deserve to die

I'm worthless

I am nothing

Why did she not flinch at her injuries?
She didn't flinch because she's used to it.

She closed her locker, walking off with her books but getting shoved into a brick wall.

"You faggot! You're a fucking piece of shit who deserves to die! A whore! Slur! Maninfestatuon! Disgusting! Horrifying! Fat! Garbage! Worthless!" The boy spat. Insult after insult, he continued while harming her after everyone.

He took out a pocket knife and started slashing the girl, legs, arms, torso, back, anywhere but the head, feet, and private parts. He sliced her one last time before a different person, a girl this time, came up to her with a bag of lemons and salt.

She put some on each cut, the sound of the victim's screams music to her ears. Once done, the girl threw the glass jar of salt at her victim, shattering on her skull. The crowd eventually went away with the predators and the girl limped. She went to a lake and cleaned all her cuts. Then limped home and locked herself in her room. Weeks went by and she went with barely any food and hardly water. She reminds herself everyday why no one loves her.

All the same things she's told everyday

All she wishes for is to be wanted.

Years go by with the same things going on, but she finally found a certain someone. He loved her and talked about everything. But with the relationship came more pain for the girl. More cuts, belts, glass bottles, lemons, salt, bruises, insults, broken bones, scars, everything. Her lover always saw it and tried to talk to her about it but she wouldn't budge. It was one day when she was walking in the park by herself, waiting for her boyfriend to come. He walked up to her and hugged her, but she didn't hug back.

"Babe, what's wrong?" She takes a deep breath, letting the truth out.

"I like girls."

He stands there shocked, then walks away. She cries and runs to the bridge, leading down to the waterfall.

She took out a jar of little items from her coat pocket: Horse pills for blood pressure. She took off her necklace of her mom in the middle of a heart and clasped it back together, resting it on the pole of the bridge. She then opened the jar of pills and took every last one. Afterwards sang her last words as she climbed on the railing of the bridge.

Here I am, at the end of me

Trying to hold to what I can't see

I forgot how to hope

This night's been so long

I cling to your promise

There will be a dawn

After all this has passed

I still will remain

After I cried my last

There'll be beauty from pain

Though it won't be today

Someday I'll hope again

And there'll be beauty from pain

You will bring beauty from my pain

She jumped, ending her life there and forever.

She was right. Beauty did come from her pain. Her boyfriend went to reveal to her that he was actually a female, but she dressed as a male because she thought her girlfriend was straight. Once she found her dead lover, she buried her in the small meadow they went to in the park. Only they knew about it, and it was their spot. Visits occur everyday, and this visit was special. It would have been their 5 year day, three years out of high school.

The girl walked up to the grave, a small white dress fitting her slim figure. The necklace her lover left on the bridge before she jumped around her necklace, a new picture of her in the heart.

The girl pulled out a navy blue velvet box and opened it, revealing a glistening diamond ring. She kissed it, slipping the other around her finger. She put the wedding ring for her lover right in front of the headstone, box locked tightly so nobody could steal it.

"I do, Diahne Karasika Judden."

Little did she know, Diahne was standing right in fron of her. Diahne pushed a stray piece of hair out her face, smiling at the faded green haired girl in front of her.

"I do, Lillianna Fauna Henderson."
