Anything But Eyes ✴4✴
It's my wedding day. He isn't coming.
My fiancé's mother fixes my bowtie.
I wish she didn't.
My fiancé's father clasps a golden bracelet around my wrist.
I wish he hadn't.
My parents call to tell me their flight is delayed, and they have to wait another hour for boarding.
I'm glad they did.
I explained my situation to them.
If you do not love the man who proposed, so no honey, they say.
The music plays fifteen minutes later.
I play out my plan.
I walk down the aisle alone, nobody to give me away.
The priest makes his speech.
The man in front of me says his vows.
Oh how I wish it were him.
Congrats are shared halfway through.
The priest asks a question
The man says I do.
The priest asks me the same question.
I say I don't.
I place the ring in the man's hand and run away.
But not before shouting, I have fallen hard for the blind boy that is my best friend.
I am coming for you, my love with anything but eyes.
Holy crap it's been forever since I've updated this series of short stories
