The Tale Of The Twins
Hello there, welcome! Oh dear, you look hurt! How can I help you? [You lie down, tired from your long and perilous journey] Yes, lie down, lie down, let me fix you some soup. When I was a young child my father told me this story. Now just sit back, rest, and listen......
Once upon a time lived two sisters, Keira and Cassy. They were twins, but people couldn't tell by the eye. Keira had silky long blonde hair, freckles, and worked with her mother at the flower shop. Her favorite color was pink and she normally wore a light pink shin length light dress, with hair braided in pigtails and a flower crown. She was adorable, and loved by everyone, well almost, everyone she met. And then there was Cassy. Cassy worked with their father at the the forge. She had shoulder length choppy black hair, and normally burns on her fingertips. She had long shaggy bangs, and normally wore a grey shirt, cloth pants, and her blacksmith apron. People, for some strange reason, avoided her. The two almost seem inseparable, unless they were at work together. The family were not rich, but a little higher up than middle class. Everything changed when it was there fifteenth birthday.
Keira was so ecstatic! It was her 15th birthday! She browsed over her present-want list, so she could mark off the things she received and note the ones she didn't. Her list was very, very, very, detailed: One pure white Arabian; female; yearling, next was crushed rose and lilac perfume, after that were several other things, including a kitten, diary, handbook, soothing ointment, candles, honey treats, a new dress (silk or velvet please), a sunflower brooch, a gold and diamond necklace, and finally, some spending money. Yes, she did love her things expensive. Kiera sat down at her vanity and started to comb her hair, you had to be presentable for your birthday!
Cassy moaned as the morning light peaked through her black curtains. In the next room over she heard the sound of her sister, Kiera, singing. She wonder why she was so jolly when it hit her, she was fifteen today! She leaped up, her white sleeping gown still on, and looked at her journal, where she kept her darkest, and most juicy things. In there was her wish list: A new forge apron, pocket knife, hand ointment, and a ring with her sister and her name engraved into it. She opened her door, and ran straight into Keira.
"What in the eight moons are you wearing!" Keira screeched. "I am wearing my sleeping gown?" Cassy replied. Keira rolled her eyes, and leaded down stairs. Today was her day, and Cassy was not going to ruin it. The mother and father sit at the table, with gifts piled around them. They each smile lovingly at the girls, and hand them the starting present. One of the last happy moments for the family.
The girls opened the gift at the exact same time. Keira got a stain glass flowerpot with some carnation seeds in it. Cassy got three long leather hair ties and a wool blanket. The next gift contained a glass hairbrush for Keira and a new apron for Cassy. After that some gifts were: a kitten, perfume, and new clothes for Keira and some new forging gloves, a hunting hound named Cupid, and a new pair of boots for Cassy. The finally, for the last gift is always the greatest, the girls slowly approached the backyard. Standing there were two horses, a black male work horse and a female, white Arabian. They looked in the saddle packs and in Keira's was an invitation to the royal ball, thrown back Prince Rick, and in Cassy's was a silver band that read : "Sisters share and eternal bond, that can never be broken". The girls spent the rest of the day with their new pets.
~one week later.......~
"Okay, should I choose this dress, or this one" asked Keira. Cassy ignored her, for she was looking at the ring. Keira stormed over, for her sister had not been paying attention, and smacked her. Cassy flinched, and dropped the ring. Keira, then noticed how amazing beautiful that silver piece. She picked it up, slid it on her ring finger, and out on a smoke grey dress that billowed out from her knees. She fancily up did her hair, put on some high heals, put on a black pearl necklace, red lipstick, a white minx genuine fur coat, and of course the ring. However, Keira did not notice the letters in the band. As her carriage arrived, Keira said goodbye to her mother, father, and horse. But not to Cassy. Cassy sat in her room, infuriated by her sisters actions, threw the perfume out her bedroom window.
Keira was so ecstatic when she learned that the prince would dance with her! She danced all night, and she even got to dance a little
with him! She had had the best night of her life, but she looked down at the ring and notices writing. She read it aloud, and out her hand to her head. She ran out, and what was shocking was that at that moment she was dancing with Prince! She left the ball earlier, and spent the rest of the night with her sister.
The End
