I sit on the river bank skipping stones with Loapa. We have been doing this for about thirty minutes. Yesterday he went to pick up Tulip, but she was sitting on her porch holding hands with a raven harpie. I guess that he really did love her. He stands up and bits his lip. "Chink, do you wanna go to the party with me? I know it's tonight but..." He stutters. My wings flutter "ABSOLUTELY!" I say, louder than intended. He says he will come and pick me up and I race home.
       I burst in and find Bree surrounded by her bestie Olga the robin harpie. "What's the rush" she asks intrigued. I explain and she shoots up, taking me by the hand and guiding me to her room. Olga follows us in pursuit. "I remember my first Freshman party." She says in a dreamy way. I roll my eyes and she pinches my hand. She sits me down behind a bamboo and paper screen and walks into her closet. She comes out with some dresses. The first dress is sweetheart neckline and is black with golden lace detailing. The second dress is white with silver flowers and no straps. The final dress is red with glittery white patterns that adorn the bottom. Olga examines each one is depth and consults with Bree. In the end the winner decides to be the black dress. Olga and Bree tell me to go to my room to get my pearl earrings. I walk in and sitting on my window sill is Advey. His eye brows shoot up when I walk in. "Whatcha all dressed up for Big Wings?" He asks. I explain that Loapa asked me to the formal and he nodded even though he has no idea who Loapa is. "I gotta go Advey, Bree's waiting for me" I say. I pick up my earrings and cut through the bath room. I walk in and notice something mischievous in their eyes. "What's going on guys..." I say slowly. "Surprise!!" They say as they pull out a small sack. I tilt my head in confusion. "Turn around silly!" Bree says. I hear the sack unzip and something falls onto my head, then on my wings, then on my skin. "All done beautiful!" Olga says. I step up into the light of the mirror. Golden sparkles adorn my wings hair and dress. Hears someone knock at the door. "Go get them girl, and good luck."
