Dear math teacher
Dear Mr. Robertson,
I know I shouldn't write this. I know I should just go ahead and delete it. I know this is stupid and that no matter what I tell you it's not going to matter.I asked you on Monday for a new seat but you shook your head no and walked away.So if I can't have a new seat I'd like to at least explain why I want one. Jennifer mumbles every step of the question and that doesn't help that I'm dyslexic and by her adding more numbers to my head it only confuses me more. Bridget talks about every boy band that has ever lived and I really don't care.plus I can't see anything. Do even if this doesn't change a thing at least you know why I asked for a new seat.
Your student
Sofia
Sofia hands Mr. Robertson the letter and walks away just like he did 3 days prior. She feels so good about all through but after 1st period she walks into the class and sits at the very back.
"Sofia come here please" Mr. Robertson yells from the front
Sofia slowly walks up to his podium and looks down at her beat up tennis shoes.
"That letter was totally inappropriate and uncalled for, but with that being said it was a very brave thing to do and I admire that" Mr. Robertson gets quieter at the end
" thank you. And I'm sorry about the letter I was just mad" Sofia finally looks her teacher in the eyes
"No thank you for bringing it to my attention. I'm going to go ahead a change your seat, but because I want too not because you told me too." He adds smiling
So Sofia gets her new seat. And both her and Mr. Robertson learn something new. Sofia learned that she has to talk to someone if she has a problem. And Mr. Robertson learned to listen to want his students say.
