My boyfriend, best friend, and I were all fighting to the death with the vicious beasts. They were once good, amazing mages in this town but the meteor that fell turned them into bloodthirsty demons. Luckily they don't have any powers anymore or we'd be dead meat. I turn around when I hear the screams of my boyfriend. I probably shouldn't have because I saw him being devoured by one of these demons.

I ran up to it and struck its head with my sword, it fell over. Its body was sucked into the black hold that kept its heart beating. By the time it had disappeared, I knew my boyfriend was long gone. Again, I heard pain-filled screams behind me. I turned around again and saw my best friend being swallowed whole by her beast. I killed another demon and watched as it died.

Just as I had finished off the two beasts, my mother and brother has teleported to the world behind me. The tears wouldn't stop falling from my eyes as this point. I turned around to them and they rushed up to me. "Gytha, what's wrong?" My brother panicked. "These demons just took my lover and my best friend from me!" I cried. "I swear, I'll kill them all!"

They both went to hug me but another demon had approached us, it was the biggest we've ever seen. "You disgusting, vile creature...." I murmured to myself. I walked forward but was stopped by my brothers arm. "Stop..." He said to me quietly. "Let me kill it." I told him. "I would if I wanted you dead but, Gytha, I really want you alive." He said and continued staring at the beast. I started to get angry. "Just let me kill it!" I raised my voice a little and hit his arm with the dull side of my blade.

His arm didn't move but he looked over my way quickly. "Stop it, you're going to get us all killed!" He sternly told me. "No, you're going to get us all killed because you won't. Let. Me. Kill. It." I said, getting angrier with each word. "Both of you, shut up!" My mother shouted at us both. My brother and I instantly shut up. "Ethelred, you make it rain and Gytha, you control the water and shield us. Got it?" She told us. "Yes, mother." My brother and I said.

Ethelred had focused on making the clouds rain. Once it did, I used my powers to make a big, thick water shield and my mother raised up some fallen souls. The souls had looked around and felt their bodies for a quick moment before my mother commanded them to attack the demon. My brother continued to make the rain fall and I continued to keep the shield strong.

The demon threw an attack and it hit the shield. The attack got halfway through my shield but then died down and disappeared. I used my will power to make the shield even stronger and more difficult to get through. I raised my hands up to the shield to get better results. The demon looked at me and noticed that I was keeping the shield up and was preventing him from getting his food.

It threw another attack directly at me, getting through my shield, my brother noticed this and tried to stop it by making lightning hit it. The attack was reflected and it headed towards my mother instead. It hit my mother and the fragments of the attack hit my brother.

I already knew the fate of my mother but my brother was severely injured and if I didn't do something, he would die, too. I made a water shield around us that was powerful enough to take one attack. I took out a bottle of healing powder and sprinkled it on my brothers wounds. His wounds glowed a bright teal. I hadn't noticed that the demon had attacked the shield and the shield had collapsed. All of the water that I was trying to use had fallen on me.

"No!" I shouted to nobody. My brother had stopped making it rain and instead made it hail so the water wouldn't affect me more. It was too late, my legs had turned into the teal fin. I knew my life was over, mermaids can't survive more than five minutes without some kind of water and all of the fallen water had turned to ice. "Crap..." I murmured to myself. I noticed a big bolt of lightning hit the vile beast that we were fighting and it started to bleed.

"Yes!" I shouted. I focused on that one spot of blood and finally reached through to it. It was still connected to the veins that contained the blood inside the monster. I started making the blood thinner and started twisting it. I was able to bring out the black hole without killing the demon and it was sucked in. The only thing that was left of the demon was it's heart that was still beating. Ethelred grabbed it and started to squeeze the heart until it exploded. The blood had turned black as it dripped onto the floor.
