Suki Ikus just wanted to fit in. He did. For a while. Then, on one evening, a searing pain stabbed threw his arm. Screaming, he was rushed to the hospital. Twitching, struggling, and screaming, he begged for it to stop. The nurses and doctors restrained the boy, managing to put him to sleep. An hour later, one approached the mother. She cried when she heard the news. His arm had to be amputated. A disease took over, and if it spread to his heart, he would die in minutes.
Hours passed. Now awake, Suki sat in the hospital bed, the lights off. He starred at his lap, sorrow clouding his mind. His left arm was gone. So was the pain. Tears dripped from his face, glancing at what was left, he only cried more. There was a knock at the door. He could only let out a small whimper. The door opened, "Suki? You awake sweety?" He looked up, seeing his mother. She gave a soft smile, walking in. Sitting beside the boy, she held a box. "I thought you would like this. I've been saving it for when you were older, but I think you need it now." Passing the gift, Suki examined it. The box was black, white writing on it. Something he didn't understand. Opening the dusty box, he starred at the contents. A scarf. A white scarf, black designs at the bottoms. He pulled it out, it was huge! "It was your grandmas. She was convinced that it had magical properties, I thought you'd like it." for the fist time after the surgery, he smiled. "I...I-I love it." He whispered. Suki got up, wrapping it around his neck. It was loose, and unintentionally, he draped it over his missing limb. It actually...worked. He left it, looking at the fact that the scarf almost reached the ground. He smiled, "I love it!"
Two days later, he went back home, getting ready for school. He wore his white sweater and black jeans. He brushed his brown hair out of his eyes, and looked at himself in the mirror. His blue eyes looked dead, cold and dead. He frowned, putting the scarf on.
At school, everyone gasped once they seen him. He flinched, blushing darkly, embarrassed, and took his seat. Beside his friends. They cringed, one asking what happened. He explained, his words muffled by the scarf. Suki noticed, that day by day, his friends gradually grew farther apart. They were disgusted by him. Not wanting to be around him. He was a freak. Some friends just...slowly stopped talking to him. Some ignored him. Some made excuses. Some....just said it. 'We're not friends anymore, leave me alone.' Everyday, he went deeper and deeper into depression. Now, he sat alone, people around him. They laughed and pointed. Even his old friends. He sat on his knees, head bowed. They made fun of him. Called him names. Then, something happened. Something horrible. Like his scarf, a feeling wrapped around his heart. It slowed down. Then stopped. His entire expression was calm as he stood. His skin paled, but he still stood. He should be dead. But he wasn't. The scarf, at the end, started to quiver. The seams stretched and snapped. They weaved together, and stopped. Four strips were there. Some saw it, and stopped laughing, others didn't. When the two raised, then they stopped. The strips curved and tightened, until four claws were there. Three 'fingers' and a 'thumb'. All curved and sharp. Suki was calm. People backed up. Then, a scream filled the air as the scarf 'hand' shot put. It grabbed a person, ripping their heart out. Suki didn't move. One by one, the bodies hit the ground, blood everywhere. The scarf was stained red. The horror of what happened didn't faze Suki. His blue eyes blinked, as dead as ever. He let out a content sigh, a smile twisting his features. He giggled, looking at the bodies. That was the day everything changed. The scarf did indeed have magical properties, ones that cursed the soul. Changing them into a monster, one with no heart.
He wasn't always Suki Ikus.
Ikus. He was the complete opposite from what he was.
That was the day the sweet innocent boy. Became a murderous monster.
