/\Pine Wood Forest/\
Note: The following short story contains minor blood/gore.
"I'll be right back Mom!" A girl called, soon leaving her house with her bike. A smile breamed across her face.
The sun shone high in the sky; no clouds visible. It was a warm afternoon in Summer, not too hot and not too cold. A young girl who looked to be about 16 with dirty blonde hair and sweet green eyes. She had pale skin with a bit of lipstick on.
She wore a white T-shirt with dark navy jeans and silver earrings. Her bike was a baby blue color with a little white basket in the front. She rode down the street, a soft breeze flowing through her hair.
"Evening Megan!" A man called, waving hello to her. The man was walking a big, Great Dane whose drool got all over the sidewalk "Evening Mr. Jillson!" Megan waved back, the Great Dane barking hello.
"Hi Thunder!" she waved to the dog, still riding down the street. She entered a small town filled with brightly colored houses. Some were orange, some were green, and some were even pink! Megan headed to a small store.
She gently put her bike on the bike stand, entering the store. The doors slid open, and she headed inside. The same familiar beep sounded above her head. She didn't pay much attention to it and went to the food isle.
A store worker stopped her, his brown eyes filled with concern "Excuse me, sorry to bother you, but I just wanted to warn you about something," he said "Oh, what is it?" Megan asked, confused.
"There's a suspicious man that keeps wandering around the town at night, sometimes at dawn. We aren't sure who he is, but he seems off and strange," he explained, shuffling his hands "What does he look like?"
"He wears all black with a big bag that has a little keychain on it that sounds like a bell," he described the strange man "I'll keep an eye out for someone like that and report any suspicious behavior from him if I see him."
"Thank you. Oh! And before I forget, my name's Chris, you?" the young man said, reaching his hand out "Megan, nice to meet you, Chris." They shook hands together, Chris soon getting back to work.
Megan grabbed some food before soon leaving. Now, as she stepped outside, dark clouds crowded the sky. The smell of wet mulch and grass lingered in the air. I better hurry and get home before it storms.
She grabbed her bike and hurried back to her home. As she got closer to her home, she heard a small bell noise. She came to an immediate stop. She listened for it again, hearing another bell ring.
It sounds like a bell... The bell noise that Chris warned me about! She thought, whipping around. A man wearing pitch black cloths and a big bag stood just down the street she came from. The bell noise came again and again.
Fear surged through her and she hurried back onto her bike. Suddenly, a loud boom shot through the air and Megan fell off her bike. Her vision blurred and her body ached with pain. The man stood over her body.
He kneeled down beside her, his voice cold "Nighty-night, Megan." he whispered into her ear. Megan felt the wet liquid of blood pouring out from her head. The man had shot her in the head. She tried to call for help, but nothing came out of her mouth.
The man moved away, disappearing into a vast forest. Megan died on the road, a pool of blood around her head. The police soon arrived as Megan's mother reported her dead body. The police searched and searched for 7 months.
Nobody saw nor found the man ever again. Megan's case along with others who were also murdered by him were still a mystery...
