His Bride
[Last Shot]
"Never" Rakshit wasn't willing to allow himself to leave hell and settle in life with a normal girl who was meant to be his wife as the angel had been constantly reminding him.
"Oh come on! This is the fate and you can't deny it" The angel looked irritated at Rakshit and continued his attempts to teach Rakshit what love was.
There came the one point when Rakshit was beyond pissed by the angel's constant talks involving love and happiness that he left the place at once. For him death wasn't scary at all but now he didn't wish to die, just because a girl came to his life and he had to marry her made him unwilling to let death approach him as for him it would be like a coward who accepted death because of a girl.
Just because a girl or rather say any normal person would be the reason of his death, he set up his mind and decided to marry her.
He returned to the castle and went to meet Drishti who was sitting by a water fountain waiting for her fate to arrive when she felt the presence of a man behind him. As she looked behind and found Rakshit standing behind her, she moved her gaze back to the water of the fountain flowing with delicacy and adding calmness and peace to her current mood.
"Hey you. Tribute"
"The name is Drishti!" She glared at him for calling her Tribute when she had already told him what her name was. Rakshit kept looking at her till her glare faded and she managed to speak further "what do you want?"
"To marry you" Said Rakshit making Drishti startled at the first place. From his saying she assumed that every girl who came here before her was destined to the same fate and so was she.
"No way in hell!" She stood up from her position and moved towards Rakshit in a blaze of fury "I'm not marrying you fool"
"You dared call me a fool?"
"Sorry because calling you a fool will be an insult to the self respect of fools! You try to play any trick and I won't be just backing off!" She was ready to backfire at him when she pushed him which made him wonder how could she be from the bloodline of Goddess of Love. She held anger in herself, fierceness, confidence and boldness in her to that extent that it wasn't possible for 'Love'
"Don't ever do that again" Rakshit glared at her with the most horrifying look he made but she did not budge. Instead she stood in front of him and looked into his eyes fearlessly. Seeing in her eyes once again his anger subsided quickly and the urge to hold her crept into him even though he held it back.
"I will. What you're gonna do?" She pushed him once again and moved back when Rakshit held her elbow and pulled her.
"You're marrying me tomorrow and that's final" He ordered her and left the place to meet angel for the required preparations.
Meanwhile Drishti was roaming around the palace discovering some facts unknown about him. People would always be cursing the devil and pictured him the villain but never cared to understand that he was just punishing people for the wrong they did. Drishti sighed and started thinking about the tributes who came here before her. She assumed that she was fated to die the very day but being the true queen she was, she decided not to be afraid if she had to sacrifice by marrying him for the sake of her people.
Walking through the hallways of the gloomy castle she came face to face with a petite figure of a girl wearing a black hooded dress. The girl looked at Drishti with a swift moment of her eyes before glancing back at the wall she was looking at prior to when Drishti came. "Um, hi. I'm-"
"Another tribute?" The girl took her hoodie off revealing her beautiful chocolate brown face with hopeful black eyes and a smile stretched across her tender thin lips "I know"
"How do you?" Drishti looked at the girl quite not understanding the situation at that moment.
"Cuz I was also one" on hearing the girl Drishti's curiosity started rising and she decided that she would ask her what was the tribute's fate later on. The girl was quick to read her expressions and her posture so made it easier for Drishti and replied without letting her ask the question "I am Maya and your name is Drishti right?" Drishti nodded in positive and looked back at the girl "I know what you're thinking. Every tribute has a different fate. When I was one, my fate lead me to being the one who could seek what laid in future for the tributes or anyone who was brought here"
"So you can see the future?" Drishti asked Maya who was quiet moved by the politeness and the patience in her voice. Starting from the day she began seeing the future, she was used to people getting hyper or impatient but she had never come across a person who had asked her calmly. This made her smile and she forwarded her hands asking Drishti to hold them.
As soon as Drishti held her hands Maya started getting visions of the happenings of the future. She saw her about to get married, she saw her standing with Rakshit and she saw Rakshit smiling faintly. All these visions let a smile adorn her face seeing that Rakshit would be redeemed from this life and get a life he would love to live. Drishti watched her smiling but couldn't comprehend anything. This was what was supposed to happen.
All of this was going on smoothly until the one specific vision came which showed what would actually happen.
She saw her crying.
She saw her bleeding.
She saw her her dying.
As her vision was about to drop a hint of who would be responsible for that, she felt her hands empty.
Maya gasped all of a sudden and opened her eyes with a jerk and tried looking for Drishti who was nowhere to be found. It was as if the girl had disappeared in thin air. Terrified by the situation she decided to consult Rakshit that Drishti's life was in danger. Rakshit who had just returned from the angel's abode was looking for Drishti to make her ready for the wedding and get the entire thing off his hands at once, he was baffled when Maya came running to him and informed him about the vision she saw and Drishti's sudden disappearance.
"Find that girl!" Rakshit ordered the guards and everyone who went at once in search of the His Bride.
He started searching the entire place once he was reminded that the angel could help him in finding Drishti. He left his palace at once and flew off to the angel's place where he came to know that there was something terribly wrong with her.
"What do you mean?"
"Rakshit, you told her that she had that impact on you. She was supposed to be from the bloodline of the Goddess of Love but this girl is from the ancient bloodline of the God of War! The three sisters had informed me that something went terribly wrong"
"What will you take for Translation?" Rakshit scoffed as everytime angel would try explaining him something it would go beyond gis understanding.
"Means you are fucked up!" The angel screamed and ran to fetch some things.
"What?"
"Agrh, the fact is that Atropos came to me and told me that Cupid asked her that she had to cut Drishti's thread of life and change her fate but when Atropos asked Lachesis she told her that Drishti's life was fairly long. Atropos resisted on doing so and asked Cupid why when he told her that it was against what the destiny as the one for Rakshit should be of the other bloodline" Rakshit looked at the angel with blank expressions making him sigh "You fat brain! In short your to be wife is kidnapped by Cupid and she is in danger!!!!"
"Why didn't you speak that in the first place? You're freaking complicated!" Rakshit yelled and returned to his castle with angel and informed everyone to find the Cupid.
Maya, Rakshit and Angel went to Cupid's castle while everyone else surrounded the place to avoid him from escaping if he came out. Rakshit, Maya and Angel tiptoed into the place and found Drishti tied to a pillar with a cloth piece tied around her mouth. Despite the situation, not even a single tear escaped her eyes as she looked at the Cupid who was explaining her the entire situation. "So that's why you need to die. If you didn't marry him, he'll die but if you did he'll live. That position belongs to someone else not you so I'm saving Rakshit and the place for the girl who actually should've been the bride" Cupid smiled at her and raised a knife to stab Drishti but Rakshit came from behind and got hold of his arm.
"Not so soon Cupid" Throwing his knife away he looked at Drishti who was being helped by Maya to get free from the chains. "Now take her and get her ready for the wedding or both of us will die for free!"
"You don't understand Rakshit, she ain't the one! She needs to die" Cupid looked at Rakshit and took out his arrow to shoot him but angel was quick enough to save him.
"Run! You moron!" He yelled at Rakshit who flew away from the place with Drishti in his arms and Maya following him.
They reached the palace anx prepared for the wedding. Drishti wasn't much happy with the decision but she couldn't let him die either. If that was the fate she was ready to stick to it and save him.
As the marriage was in it's final stage Cupid narged into the place with his army and arrows and tried breaking it off. Rakshit's guards were trying hard to compete with it and to soem extent they were able to hold them till the wedding finally reached it's completion.
They were called husband and wife and Cupid's plan failed miserably. Rakshit took a breath of relief and looked at Drishti while smiling but she simply glared at him. "God this girl glares too much. How am I supposed to live with her forever?" He complained making everyone laugh looking at them.
Time went by and they lived a normal life. They had spent over hundreds of years fighting with each other before they finally reached the stage when they fell in love after 467 years of their marriage.
Year 2021
When they were living their mortal life.
"Rakshit. We will have a baby now. But it ain't coming. It's so late. What do you say?" Drishti threw a cushion at Rakshit who managed to dodge it and laid back at the back listening to Drishti complaining about kids being late, again.
"What? We are trying it's their wish when they want to come. I'm not God"
"Rakshit, there is something known as science"
"So what do you want to say?"
"You need to get a checkup" she showed her teeth and looked at him with hope while he was trying to keep his cool.
"There's no problem with me!!!"
"Loom Rakshit. I know it will he difficult but we can get you the treatment" she put her hand on his shoulder and tried to make him understand but he was simply getting annoyed at her.
"I said shut up! I'm alright!"
The end
