A Dark Street

Howdy! So I wrote this a while ago, but I thought I'd finally upload for Undertale's 5th birthday! (This chapter's an undertale fan fiction) I hope you enjoy it! It was inspired by Rush Garcia's cover of Megalovania.

She walked quickly; eyes kept down at her feet. The unfamiliar smell of the city filled her nostrils and caused her head to spin. She's not usually out this late, but this was a matter of emergency.

Oh why did her sister have to do it?

Slipping in between the various figures, making sure not to make eye contact, she quickened her pace. Her heart started to race as a figure called out to her, but she just kept her head down an ignored them. It wasn't far now.

She turned sharply left and found herself at a peculiar street. There were houses shaped like a castle, one shaped like a laboratory, one was even shaped like a fish!

She slowed her pace now, inspecting each and every house; it's got to be around here somewhere. She passed houses that looked like dog kennels and others that looked like ruined buildings. She glanced at what seemed to be some kind of restaurant, until she saw what she had been searching for.

She ran up to a double storied house with Christmas lights still hanging up and a pirate flag hanging from the roof. She went round the side, an alleyway between the house and another.

"Just walk right down, I'll be down there." Her sister's words rang around her head. Her breath started to shake as she took a trembly step down the stairs. Clutching her thin sweater, she continued to cautiously walk down the stairs.

One step at a time, one step into the darkness that had eaten the day, one step into a blind surrounding, one step at a time.

She finally felt herself walking on solid ground, though she couldn't see. She just continued to keep walking; she was bound to run into a wall sometime soon.

But she didn't.

She just walked and walked and walked. She looked around nervously, ready to hear a sound other than her footsteps. She tried to breathe normally, but they just came out in a shaky breath. She just walked and walked and walked, until...

"if you take one more step, you are really not gonna like what happens next..."

The voice was deep and threatening, it sounded as though each word judged her very being. She looked around to see who was speaking, but she still couldn't see anything. What if this was a voice recording? What if this was some kind of prank? She couldn't let herself be stopped by an immature individual, she had to find her sister, so she took a step.

SNAP! Her body froze, nothing could be moved except her face. She started to panic, why couldn't she move!? She struggled, trying to move her arms, legs, anything! But it was no use. With a heavy feeling in her chest, she was forced to just stand there.

"you humans just don't learn do you... what's your name...?" The voice called out again.

In a meek little voice, she stated her name, "I-It's Frisk!" Frisk just wanted to get her sister; she didn't want to stay here any longer.

"frisk huh...? well, sweetheart, you've caught me at a bad time, and you don't want to mess with me when i'm in a bad mood..."

There was a blue flash of light in the corner of Frisk's eye and the same deafening snap.

"I-I just wanted to find my sister, I, um, I don't want any t-trouble." Frisk spoke out again, her voice trembling.

There was another flash of blue light in the corner of her eye, but it was on the other side now, and yet another sickening snap. It was peculiar, the blue flash almost looked like a flame.

"now, doll face, i couldn't care less about why you're here," The same blue flame ran in front of her, with a snap, "my job is to make sure you don't come back..."

The blue went to the left, to the right, around the front, with a snap each time it moved.

The shocking blue light shone out behind her with an utterly traumatizing snap, she could feel the presence of a being there. Their hot breath was on her neck, though she couldn't turn her head to see who this enigmatic figure was.

Their breathe caused the hair's on the back of Frisk's neck to stick up, the figure said in a threatening tone, "and if you did come back..."

"you'd be dead were you stand..."

Despite the flame behind her, despite the intimidating voice, despite the fact that she couldn't escape, her determination still shone through.

"P-please Sir, I-I just want to find my sister, p-please, if I can find her I'll be out of your hair, I promise. And I'll never come here again, I-"

Frisk went silent as the breath on her neck stopped and the figure too went silent. The blue flame still shone brightly behind her though, which had slightly illuminated the rest of the room. The wallpaper and flooring all seemed black, well blue due to the light, although some walls look as though something had been thrown into them, like a fight occurred in here. She was standing on a strange device on the floor that almost seemed like treadmill. And in the very corner of her eye there was a wooden door. Frisk's heart skipped for a moment as she realised there was more to this dark room that meets the eye, and a possible opportunity for her sister to be there.

But her moment of happiness was short lived as the stunning light disappeared.
Frisk tried to calm her nerves as her eyes adjusted back into the darkness. She tried to stabilize her breathing, but she couldn't stop her heart racing. She was prey waiting in a cloud of darkness for the predator.

She heard the sharp steps of a person and held her breath as they walked towards her. What was the person going to do? Hurt her? Kill her!? Frisk couldn't do anything to prevent it, they could do whatever they wanted to her, and she couldn't stop them.

The footsteps stopped, and yet again Frisk could feel the presence of a person near her. They took one more slow step, and sighed, "doll... you have quite a determined soul, doncha...? makes you feel like you can do anything, no matter the odds... well let me tell you something sweetheart..."

With a flash of blue light the figure came into view, and the sight shook Frisk to her very core. Standing in front of her was a skeleton, a real life skeleton! Although this one had a dreadful hollowed eye socket and a flaming blue eye in the other. They wore a creepy smile, and with the flaming eye, let you know you were in real danger. The skeleton wore what appeared to be a suit with a black coat, white undershirt, and a deep blue tie, though there were several cuts in his suit.

The Skeleton leaned forward, and with an even wider grin, said, "kids like you... should be burning in hell!"

With another sickening snap, everything faded to darkness...
