"Good Relations" Entry
(I feel like I'm out of time and I'm too tired to continue writing rn so I'm just going to publish what I have so far)
About seven moons had passed since the NightWings moved into the rainforest, and the healer's hut was the busiest it had ever been.
As ordered by Queen Glory, the NightWings were to come in to be checked for injuries and patched up if any were found. The first day was hectic - there were too many patients and only three RainWing healers. So, any NightWings with medical knowledge were required to help, and the most critically injured dragons were treated first. Including Starflight, one of Queen Glory's friends.
Bliss had been the one put in charge of him, because - according to the queen - she was the most 'qualified'.
As the days went on, things calmed down, and soon it was just the original three RainWing healers again.
On this particular day, Bliss was in the back, checking on Starflight's bandages when Bullfrog came to tell her it was Sun Time. Bliss nodded, and off Bullfrog went. After an incident with a hammock breaking in the middle of Sun Time, the Healers agreed it was best if at least one of them stayed behind, just in case. It was a rotation, and today was Bliss's turn.
For the most part, it was quiet, save for the usual ambience of the rainforest. With nothing better to do, Bliss decided to take a look at their inventory, see if they needed anything. She ended up looking at the leftover cactus longer than necessary. Didn't the five dragonets mention a war, with SandWings? She remembered that SeaWing, with that nasty gash on his leg... Maybe she should talk with the queen about stocking up on that cactus.
The light coming in from the door was suddenly cut off. "Hello?"
Bliss turned around - there was a NightWing in the doorway, shuffling nervously on her feet. She looked.. unsure. The healer motioned for her to come in, crossing the room quickly to meet her in the middle.
"What's your name?" Bliss asked. Growing up in a place where everyone pretty much knew everyone, Bliss wasn't used to asking that question, she was used to already knowing her patient's name.
"Uh, Ebony."
"Alright, Ebony, what seems to be the problem?" Bliss slowly circled the NightWing - no sign of any external injury.
Green eyes watched her cautiously. "I.. think I'm sick."
The answer was slow, hesitant.
Bliss nodded. "What are your symptoms?" She began gently feeling along Ebony's left wing, applying light pressure. Just because there was no external evidence of an injury didn't mean there wasn't one.
She carefully opened the wing, checking for any tears. The membrane was different from what she'd seen before. It looked like a night sky, with barely visible clouds of green - the same green as Ebony's eyes, Bliss noted.
It was pretty, beautiful even.
The NightWing, thankfully, let Bliss do her job and began listing her symptoms as requested; she could barely keep anything down, not even water; she could barely sleep; a near-constant headache, most likely caused by stress; and to top it all off, she'd been overwhelmingly upset throughout all of it.
Bliss had moved on to the right wing halfway through. She tried not to look worried, but it must've been obvious, judging by the amused chuckle coming from Ebony.
"What do you think, doc? Am I dying" Her voice held a sarcastic undertone.
"It sounds to me like you're homesick."
...
"What?"
