The Confession

Follows right after the Epilogue in When We Crashed and before the bonus chapter.

Ella's pov:

"You didn't tell them!!" The moment of realization hit me like a truck, as I almost cry out in frustration to Luke, who only wraps an arm around my back and pulls me to his chest, engulfing me in his scent.

"Baby, you said we could tell them together." He says in soft voice, as I let myself sigh in defeat, which really just turned into a pout.

He lets out a soft laugh at my facial expression and bends down to peck my pouted lips.

"But, ahh they are going to kill us once they found out we've been dating for days and didn't tell any of them." I pull away from his embrace to look up at him.

"Well, they might be a little angry at first....."

I raise my eyebrow at him as he clears his throat, "Okay so maybe a lot, but they will get over it... eventually."

"I really hope that what you're saying his true." I mutter as he gives me one last peck before pulling away and grabbing my hand, taking me outside and to his car.

But as we approach the car, I couldn't stop a blush from forming as I remembered the last time we were in his car together.

We had our first kiss in here.

Well... to be specific, I think our first three kisses, I don't know why it feels like so long ago we were confessing our long awaited feelings towards one another.

I've just been so happy since we've been together. Luke really just brings out the best in me.

The last couple days, we actually haven't been out and about. I mean, even though things are good now with my parents, I haven't been itching to leave the house and head into town.

We've just stayed at one of our houses, simply enjoying each other's company without worrying about ruining our friendship because of what we felt towards each other.

We are finally able to be comfortable with one another, and let our feelings for each other show instead of keeping them hidden.

Taking me out of my thoughts, Luke nudges my shoulder and winks at me, knowing that I was thinking about the last time we were in his car together.

"Ahhh don't bring it up." I can't bring myself to meet his eye as I feel the blush on my cheeks still visible.

"I love you~...." he sings, opening the door for me as I kiss his cheek at his action.

"You're cute." I mutter before laughing as he sends me a wink and one of his adorable smiles.

"I know." He says, running over to the drivers side of the car.

He glances at me before putting the key in.

"Yes?" I ask, showing that I caught his glance.

"Nothing, I'm just thinking that I'm not the only cute one here."

Avoiding his gleaming eyes, I look out the window with a shy smile, "Just drive."

He laughs, "Yes Ma'am."

"Actually, I don't really want to do this." I lean back in the seat of his car, trying to think of any possible scenario that could play out in the next few minutes.

I know that Julie and the boys are really nice friends, the best of friends actually...

And I know that they will be ecstatic once they find out we are dating, I've only been hearing them fantasize about it for the last couple of weeks.

But, once they find out we've been dating for quite some time now...

...

We are dead, definitely dead.

"Ella, don't overthink yourself too much. I promise by the time we leave tonight, everything will be perfectly fine. I mean, sure they might be upset that we didn't tell them a little bit sooner, but they will understand."  Luke warm hand takes a hold of my shaking one.

I take a deep breath and nod my head, trusting his words as look up at Ashton's house where everyone already was.

"Okay, I'm ready." I squeeze his hand then let go and remove my seat belt.

When we get out, I follow Luke to the front door to which he knocks once before opening it up to see everyone's eyes on us, their warm smiles greeting us as we give them smiles of our own in return.

"It's about f*cking time!!" Zander's voice was the first to make an appearance as he runs up and wraps me in a bear hug.

"I'm so happy you guys were able to make it!! It feels like it's been forever since I've last seen you guys." I look over Zander's shoulder to see Julie standing up from the couch where she was sitting next to Ashton, who follows her in standing up as he fist pumps Luke and pulls him to one of those bro hugs.

"I missed you guys too." I say as Zander let's go of me so that Julie can pull me into a hug of her own.

After Julie, I greet Ashton, Jake, Gianna, and Damien. But as I did so, the nagging at the back of my head wouldn't stop on when it would be best to tell them.

Now?

Or should I wait until everyone is seated and more comfortable?

"Come on! I saved you a space on the couch next to me so we can catch up!!" Julie gleams, taking my hand so that I follow her to the couch.

I glance back at Luke to see him already caught up in talking with the boys to see my distressed face.

We probably should have talked about when... or how we should tell them.

I know Luke said not to over think it...

But I am definitely over thinking it.

"You know I've been lonely ever since we stopped being roommates, now I have no one to binge watch romance movies with." I laugh as Julie nudges my shoulder.

"I thought you said you were going to force Ashton to watch them with you?" I tease, but she frowns.

"I know, he always tells me to call him whenever I feel alone or troubled. But I always feel guilty making him drive all the way over here from his college just because I am lonely. I feel bad, even if he insists." She shrugs her shoulders.

I nod my head, "I understand, to be honest, for the short amount of time I was here, I figured out that a lot what Luke said was true." I laugh.

Julie looks at me confused, "What did he say?"

"That you always put others before yourself. You know, you really helped me out with everything that happened. I feel like I never got the chance to really thank you for that..."

But she only shakes her head and smiles at me, "Really it was nothing, I just felt really bad about what your parents did to you, and then the whole thing with Luke, which speaking of that doofus, how are you two? I know you guys are back to be being best friends, how has that been?" She asks.

"Wait let me in on this discussion." A voice joins us as I look over to see Zander walking towards us, taking a seat on the other side of me on the couch.

"Well we-..."

"Please tell me you guys are dating, I honestly can't take it anymore. You. Guys. Are. Meant. For. Each. Other."  Zander interrupts as Julie points at him.

"I agree with that statement!"

"It's a ship."

"It always has been!"

"Hell yeah!!"

I watch as they high five right in front of my face.

Okay, I think this is the time to do it. Just come out and say it...

But before I could, the unthinkable happens.

Just as I was about to get a word out of my mouth, someone puts a hand on my shoulder and kisses my cheek, "Need a drink Baby?"

The room goes dead silent.

...

"WHAT THE F*CK DID YOU JUST SAY??!!" Zander screams before falling off the side of the couch causing a loud thud.

My heart drops as everyone just shares in shock. First to Zander freaking out onto the floor, to Luke, then me, and finally, to Julie, who looked to shocked to say anything.

"Oh right..." I hear Luke mutter as I face towards Julie, who was looking at me with wide eyes.

"Julie I-....." I mumble out, trying to think of an explanation for not telling her sooner. I was scared that she would think that I didn't trust her enough to tell her sooner, but her next words gave me instant relief...

"I KNEW IT!!! I HAD A FEELING YOU WERE!!!! ASHTON I TOLD YOU!!!! I KNEW IT, I KNEW IT I-....."

Ashton quickly walks over and covers Julie's mouth with his hand. He kisses her cheek in a way to try to calm her state of excitement, but much to his dismay, she bites down on his hand and stands up, jumping around.

Gianna soon runs over to us before Jakes arm could wrap an arm around her waist to try and stop her.

...

All and all, boyfriends trying to control their over excited girlfriends is clearly a no go.

...

Oh, and Zander is still on the floor.

...

Crying tears of joy...?

"How long??!" She squeals, grabbing both of my hands while looking at me.

My breath quickens, giving Zander the chance to somehow gain his balance and stand up, "Yeah, how long, can't be more than a day, right? Or else we would have known sooner-...." But his voice slowly starts to fade out from the facial expression that I was giving him.

"Uhm... actually," Luke draws out, as I take a deep breath awaiting everyone's response as to what he is about to say, "A couple of... days..."

...

"WHAT!!!"

"ARE YOU SERIOUS!!"

"A COUPLE DAYS!!!"

"HUH?!!"

In less than a second, complete chaos cut loose.

Zander was on the ground...

Again...

Gianna and Julie were firing questions at me on how it came to be and why it took so long.

Jake and Ashton, who were first trying to contain Julie and Gianna, soon gave up and approached Luke, probably deciding to take their safest bet...

Survival.

And with all the loud noises coming from around me, the questions, the confusion, the screaming....

From Zander...

It was suddenly hard to be able to think and focus on the questions they were trying to ask me.

"Where was it? How did it happen?!!" Gianna asks clapping her hands together excitedly.

"Well uh-...."

"What did he say?" Julie asks.

"He-...."

"What did you say-..." Gianna continues her question.

"I-...."

"Why did you wait so long to tell us?" Julie changes the question.

"We just-...."

"Is like official, official. Did you have your first date yet??!"

"We are but we didn't-..."

"Y'all are missing the most important question," Zander pushes the two girls away as he stares deep into my eyes...

I gulp in nervousness before he asks, "Is he a good kisser?"

"ZANDER!!!" Julie and Gianna screech, as my face goes red from embarrassment.

"W-what?? I-..." I was at a loss of words from such a straightforward question.

But I mean, to be fair, that is honestly a question that I should have expected from Zander.

Suddenly, I feel hands on my shoulder as I look up to see Luke looking down at me with a worried expression.

"I think you guys need to give her a second to breathe." He says, coming to my rescue as I slightly thank him with a slight head nod.

"You're right, sorry Ella, I think we all just got a little over excited since we've been wanting it to happen for so long." Julie smiles at me sheepishly as everyone slowly starts to find a place around the living room so we weren't all bunched up in such a small space.

"It's okay Julie, and, I think it might be easier if we start from the beginning."
I smile at her, looking at Luke as he nods his head in approval.

"It all started..."
