TAWoG: The Fish
This chapter is an old story. I might actually make this chapter a book depending on how good it is. Up to you guys if you want a full story or not. Just so you guys know. This is old and has not been updated for a long time.
Long ago, after Darwin the first just dies. Darwin the second came into the family. He looked the same as Darwin the first, but only with a slight change. A scare had formed on the left side of his cheek. Gumball accidentally dropped it on the floor, and a peace of glass scratched Darwin's face. Frantic, Gumball grabbed a bag and placed the fish in a happy new home. But one morning, before Gumball was ready to leave for vacation with his parents. Darwin wasn't breathing. Gumball picked the fish up and walked down to his mother, who sat at the table with everything packed up and ready to go. She was pregnant with Anais at the time. Gumball showed her the fish, saying. "Mommy, he's playing dead."
"Gumball, may i-i um...see the fish?" His mother asked with a worried tone.
"He's on his belly floating around and seems to be dead to me." She lifted the bag up and walked outside. "He's...um...not dead but...uh...asleep" she said as Gumball buckled his seat belt and waited to get there. Once they arrived, Gumballs mother opens the bag and pores the fish into the water. She checked around to see if her son was watching.
But little did they know, the fish was still alive.
After Darwin Watterson had discovered 'Darwin the first', he began to think about 'Darwin the second' and ask his mother about him/her. However, no one will tell him until this day.
Two months later
"Darwin, breakfast is ready." Miss. Watterson yelled from the kitchen. Darwin steered in his sleep before standing up in his fishbowl and stretching.
"Coming Miss. Mom." He yelled back. Darwin stretched out his foot from the fishbowl as he gave a big yawn. He looked down at his big brother, Gumball, as he lied their fast asleep with no sudden movements. He seemed to be in a deep sleep and didn't hear his mother.
"Well, I hope this day goes better than ever." He muttered to himself. "Gumball always messes up my day." He grabbed the doorknob and slowly opened it to find Mr. Watterson, a tall pink chubby bunny with a great big smile on his face, and hid his hands behind his back. He glanced down at the young fish, then walked in, stopping right at Gumball who was sleeping peacefully in his bed.
"Shh, keep your voice down and don't yelp!" Mr. Watterson said looking down at his oldest son. He slowly pulled his hand out with the ice cube; and stuffed it in his shirt. Gumball yelp, taking the ice cube out, then stared at his father for a moment.
"Oh no you didn't," He said running after him with the ice cube. "Hey, get back here." Gumball yelled as he ran past Darwin who was slammed against the bunk bed.
"Well, there goes my day." Darwin said walking out of the bedroom. Miss. Watterson, a blue cat who had anger issues, was flipping the pancakes in the air as Darwin watched from afar. His stomach started to growl at the sight of it.
"Okay boys, today you two are coming with me. I have a surprise that Darwin may like." Miss. Watterson said, handing the plate to Darwin.
"What's the surprise Mom?" Gumball asked. He was still in his PJ's.
"That's why they call it a surprise Gumball." Miss. Watterson added.
After finishing his breakfast and brushed his teeth. He ran down to find out what the surprise was. There, at the bottom of the steps was bags packed right at the door.
"Gumball, where leaving." Miss. Watterson yelled from the steeps.
"Coming mom." Gumball yelled back, running down and out to the car where Darwin waited patiently in the back seat. Gumball climbed in the front while his mother waved back to her husband with her luggage.
"Come on mom, I don't have all day!" Gumball hissed, watching his mother as she stuffed the luggage in the back trunk.
"Hold on, I just have to start the car and we're off." She turned the keys and put the gear into drive. "I want you two, to behave like adults. Don't be stupid, don't run off without me, and don't beg me for anything." She glared at Gumball angrily. "And I'm talking to you Gumball."
"Okay, now can we leave!" Gumball cross his arms in anger.
After two hours of driving, Miss. Watterson stopped the car to find a lake and the cabin she had borrowed from Mr. and Miss. Fitzgerald, and their food. She happily steeped out into the fresh air with her hands out smelling the woods and listening to the birds chirp.
"Oh finally, I can relax here for two days without Richard begging me for food." Miss. Watterson said walking towards the cabin. She stopped and thought for a moment. 'What if he eats all the food at home; and I'm out of money?'
"Mom, wait. Darwin stays here for a moment." Gumball said running towards his mother.
"Mom, remember the second fish we had. We buried it here before the Fitzgerald's owned it." Gumball whispered,
"What fish, oh...that fish. Darwin the second is long gone Gummy puss, and don't tell Darwin about him or he'll flip out." Miss. Watterson patted her son's back. "Now grab the luggage and come back to the cabin. We have a lot to unpack." Gumball nodded his head and ran back to the car.
'But, that fish was still breathing, I know he was.' Gumball thought opening the trunk. "Okay Darwin, Mom wants us to bring the entire luggage in the cabin. Then we can relax in the water and enjoy our vacation away from home." Gumball pulled out the luggage.
"Does Miss. Mom want us to grab the food?" Darwin asked.
"No, I don't think so." Gumball answered back.
Miss. Watterson waited on the porch for her two sons to come in with the luggage. But without even noticing, the water started to move in the corner of her left eye. She looked closer to find out what it was. All she could see was an orange head with eyes pop out and stare at her.
'It must be Darwin playing a joke on Me.' she thought wrong as Darwin and Gumball walked up towards her. She turned back towards the water with a surprise look on her face. But the strange creature was gone.
"Mom...Mom...MOM." Gumball yelled her name three times. She was startled from Gumball throwing the luggage on the porch. "Where should I put the luggage?" Gumball asked with his hands on his shoulders.
"in the kitchen, oh and boys. The bedrooms are free, there's like five of them. So pick before I do" Miss. Watterson watched as her son's walked in the cabin.
"I pick this room," Darwin yelled running in. The room was painted nicely with green walls. The floor was wood, and the bed was nicely made for him to sleep on. Gumball got Penny's room that had blue paint on the walls, and the room almost looked like his but didn't have a bunk bed.
"So boys, how do you like the cabin so far?" She asked, they both yelled back "We love it."
Gumball threw himself in the cold water, and then watched as Darwin grabbed the rope dangling from a tree. He walked backwards than ran, jumping on the rope and flying off into the water as he let go. Gumball laughed as Darwin came out looking at him with a funny face.
"Man, my face hurts from that." Darwin added swimming back to the shore.
"Oh, it's not that bad once you get used to it." Gumball said back. After two hours of jumping and laughing in the water, Gumball and Darwin came back out drying themselves off. Miss. Watterson fed them, and then tucked them in their beds.
Sometime around midnight, Darwin was startled awake from thunder, the rain poured down as lightning lit the sky reviling a shadow near the door. He slowly got up and out the room, walking over to Gumball's room to find him fast asleep. Darwin slowly crawled in the bed; trying not to disturb his brother. He cuddled in front of him while he pulled the blankets over his head to find the shadow walking towards the door.
For a split second, the lightning lit the room once more to revile a fish that looked like him, but had a scare running down his left eye and seaweed all over the fish. Darwin grabbed Gumball startling him awake, he held tight as the fish walked closer and closer. He grabbed Darwin's foot pulling him along with Gumball out of the bed. The screaming woke Miss. Watterson up. She ran as fast she could out of her bedroom looking for her sons in their bedroom's. But no sign of them until she ran outside.
"Gumball?" Miss. Watterson said nervously.
Gumball held on to Darwin as they both went under water. Darwin held Gumball looking at him as he tried to breathe, then he gasp for air letting out a scream.
"BOYS." Miss. Watterson yelled outside.
"Oh my." She looked at the water as bubbles came up. She jumped in searching for the two boys, but no sight of them anywhere. She swam up in the rain and screamed for her sons. "BOYS scream if your their" She yelled over the thunder.
"Gumball." Darwin yelled underwater, but Gumball was not breathing. He kicked the fish making it let go of his foot. Darwin swam up with Gumball in his hands.
"Miss Mom," Darwin screamed, but heard nothing.
"MOM" This time he heard her voice scream back.
"Boys" She touched Darwin's face then Gumball's.
"What happened to Gumball?" She said nervously.
"Something grabbed me, pulling both of us underwater." Darwin explained to his mother. They both made it to shore, Darwin tried giving Gumball air, but his heart did not beat. He tried once more making him spit out water and cough. Miss. Watterson held his son close as she cried. Then the fish walked up to the three looking down at Darwin. His hand grabbed Darwin's leg pulling him back in the water.
"GUMBALL," Darwin screamed as the strange fish pulled him back in the water. Gumball looked side by side trying to find something to hit the creature with.
"Grab anything to hurt it, I'll be behind you." Miss. Watterson voice was frightened.
'I knew something was wrong when I seen that head out of the water.' she thought grabbing an umbrella.
"Gumball, please help me" Darwin screamed as the creature pulled him underwater.
"Shut up fish! This is my spotlight. I get to have the family and you rot here like I did." The creature said angrily.
"Who are you, and what do you want?" Darwin said shaking as the fish tied him to the seaweed.
"I was a pet fish like you once. However, your brother thought I was dead and buried me here on vacation. Soon I began to grow legs, arms and talk. I seen you with my owner and planed on taking them back." The fish reveled himself in the dimmed light.
"I'm like you." He said knocking Darwin unconscious.
"Darwin." Gumball yelled.
"Oh my gosh, DARWIN" Miss. Watterson said watching the fake Darwin popped out of the water.
"Mother, I was terrified when he grabbed me and pulled me to the bottom of the water. He tried to drown me but I escaped safely," Said the fish.
"Oh my baby boy; where did the scare come form and what's with your voice?" Miss. Watterson asked.
"He strangled me, then grabbed a stick and cut my eye." The fish said covering it as if it where bleeding.
"Okay, how about we get home, pack everything up. Where leaving." Miss. Watterson picked the fish up and ran towards the car.
Darwin lied their underwater for a minute. That is when the light hit his face making him scream and shout underwater. The seaweed that was tied to him had a grip. Darwin pulled his hand out, and then tried pulling his other hand out.
"Gumball" He yelled, but the water blocked off the sound. Darwin was finally free. He swam up on shore to find Gumball getting in the front seat.
"Gumball, that's not me. He's trying to take my life." Darwin yelled as they drove off.
"Mom, that fish is back." Gumball said looking out the front window.
"I'll just run him over." Miss. Watterson said making a u-turn. She looked at Darwin with an angry look as the car made a sound. She pushed the petal and came zooming down near Darwin.
"Kill him, kill the fake fish." The fish yelled, Gumball started to thing for a moment.
'Darwin would never say a thing like that.' Then it came to him. "STOP THE CAR!" He yelled. The car came to a stop right in front of Darwin's face as he screamed high pitch.
"Gumball, what is it..." She was interrupted from the sobbing in front of the car.
"That's Darwin," Gumball pointed. "The real Darwin would never say a thing like that." They both turned looking at the fake fish.
"Uh...got to go!" He said opening the car door near Miss. Watterson's side.
"Oh no you don't" She opened her car door and ran right on top of him. "You're staying with us for a moment." She said pinning him down.
"DARWIN, ARE YOU OKAY," Gumball cried out to his frightened brother.
"I thought...you where goanna kill me..." Darwin cried putting his head against Gumball's chest.
"I'm so sorry." Gumball held him tight. "I should have known he was faking it, and with the scare, making it look real. And his voice. But that means..." Gumball stopped and looked at the fish.
"Let me go woman." He yelled.
"Darwin the second?" Gumball said holding Darwin.
"Yeah, what do you think?" He said spitting.
Miss. Watterson looked at Gumball. "We thought you were dead long ago?" She said looking down at him.
"NO, Gumball just carried me down here. I was never dead, he took me out of the fishbowl frightened and thinking I was dead. You people carried me here and buried me alive." He spit once more and then letting out a yelp as Miss. Watterson twisted his arm.
"Okay, okay. I wanted to kill Darwin so I can have my chance with you people. But my plan did not work."
"Darwin and Gumball, get in the car. I have something to do." Miss. Watterson said pulling him to the cabin, there she pulled out rope and tied him. She threw the fish in the water and ran back before he could escape.
The last thing they heard from the fish was "I'll be back, and when I do, I'll take Darwin..."
Monday morning
"And that's how Darwin the second tried to kill my brother." Gumball said in class.
"I still have a mark from him punching me." Darwin said shaking from thinking about that fish.
"I'm glad he's alright, I'm proud to be his brother as long as he lives." Gumball smiled at him, Darwin blushed putting his head down on the table.
"Well...um...that was a interesting story. So class, today I will be teaching you about the-" Their teacher didn't seem to interested in their story so she continued to teach the class instead.
