She's searching for a way out, not knowing that there's none. She's looking for light, to defeat the darkness that's slowly swallowing her, not knowing that he's blocking it. She's helpless, in need of comfort and reassurance, but in a world full of people like him, she'll never be free of her misery.

As she lay in her bed, alone, crying her eyes out, she heard his heavy footsteps stomping his way up the stairs and halting in front of her old wooden bedroom door.
Fear flashed in her eyes, as she awaited him to emerge and beat her once more, all caused because of his drunk state. Suddenly the door flew open, almost breaking the hinges, and in came her abusive boyfriend, who she couldn't get rid of. He came in and pulled her up by her hair and tossed her to the floor like a rag doll, smashing her head against the wooden floor, almost knocking her out, he continued to harass her, taking advantage of her weak state, mercilessly punching her without any sign of regret. And she just lay there, helpless, taking blow after blow her "lover" gave her.
But finally, after gathering every ounce of strength she had, she pushed him with her feet, which caused him to stumble backwards hitting his head in the process, and fainting. This was her chance to escape, so she stood up on her wobbly feet, and darted out the door as fast as she could, and pried the front door open, just to be shocked, and see that they were in the middle of nowhere. That cruel boyfriend of hers had taken them to a completely deserted place, with no sign of civilization. But thankfully at the distance, she saw her boyfriend's old beat up truck, as she got nearer, to her luck, she saw that the keys were in the ignition, so she quickly climbed in and drove as fast as she could, with tears rolling down her beat up face.For the first time in a very long time, she felt that she was free, and genuinely happy.
