Death Day

"Come on it's just a bit further, your not going to chicken out are you," Trista smiled back at me as she hiked up the small hill leading to the Morton House. Her brown-red eyes moving to Mary who could only sigh as she looked at the decrepit house before us.

The windows were gone and the door looked to have been clawed by a savage beast. The exterior being the same faded white it had been since were born and the shingles of the roof looked one storm away from being on the ground. For most, it was an abandoned home, but for us, it had been our playground ever since we were small. "Are you sure about being out here? What if we get attacked by something?" I questioned as I looked down at my watch, it was twelve-thirty in the morning, not exactly the day I would want to walk down memory lane with my two friends. Especially not here, given the fact that not even five hours ago someone told me I'd die here.

"Your not seriously hung up about that Gypsy, are you? It's all crap, there's no such thing and you aren't going to die here."

💀💀💀

I stood behind the tree as the creature angrily bashed into the patch of old trees entangling its body. Mary was on the other side of me, holding onto her bleeding side as Trista looked over to me with a small frown. I don't think this was ever what the girl's thought would happen when they invited me out here. They probably figured that we'd all just laugh this stupid situation with the Gypsy off and file it under the Halloween bull category never to be remembered again. But, I'll admit I was expecting to be crushed to death or Murdered by one of those Michal Myres style serial killers, not by a blind Ankylosaurus-cat-looking hybrid.

The creature managed to finally get out from the tangle of trees, it's brilliant purple irises lit by the faint glow of the moon's reflection. It gave out a few huffs before it opened its mouth, scenting the air. Trista paled as it began to wander towards us, it's speed slowly increasing as if it were planning to ram into the tree.

I took a deep breath before I stood and ran out from our hiding spot, whistling and waving my arms around in the most obnoxious way I could think. The creature's eyes moved from the tree to me. Both of the girls looking from one another to me. "Run! Get the heck outta here!" I screeched.

Neither looked willing to leave. But, with a bit more prompting from me screaming at them from the top of my lungs they darted away as soon as the creature had begun to charge at me. I smiled as the creature bolted towards me. Content in the simple fact that if I was going to die, they wouldn't be joining me.
