Ghostly Love
I could never imagine being in love with her....
...... in her ghostly form.
My name's Andrew Ferdel. I'm a nerdy boy who doesnt look like one. Instead my role in my class is the popular nerd. I sometimes get into fights with a group of guys because of being flocked by girls. Which is why I spend my free time on the rooftop.
That's when I found her.
It happened a year ago when I was still a freshman. Her name was Mint. We were in the same year level. She had short light brown hair and sparkling blue eyes. Her personality really fits the type of girl I want: quiet, very calm and patient, and smart. But she was unexpected sometimes.
"Will it be alright if we'll be friends then?" she asked.
"Of course!" I excitedly replied.
That's how I started my friendship with Mint.
Everyday, we bonded with each other on the rooftop. And every single time we meet, my heart fluttered with joy. I knew that I had fallen already. Her voice was music to my ears and her orbs were sapphire crystals to me. My feelings became stronger and stronger but I kept them hidden.
Though I almost got caught by her once.
"Hey Andrew." she said.
"Yeah?"
"Can I ask something?"
"What is it?" I looked at her in curiosity.
"...... do you like me~?" she said in a cute tone. I suddenly blushed furiously and quickly covered my face.
"No. No no no." I shook my head.
"Your ears are red~!" she giggled.
"Shut up!" I yelled in embarassment.
"Okay okay~ I won't tease you anymore."
I peeked and slowly placed my hands down. But something very unexpected happened right after...
"Andrew, close your eyes for a bit."
"E-eh? um.... okay?" I slowly closed my eyes and waited.
I felt arms wrap around me from behind and lips kissing my cheek. Then I heard Mint's voice again.
"Don't open them yet." she calmly said.
I didn't dare to open them. The feeling was relaxing. It has been a very long time since someone hugged me. I was living alone since my dad passed away and my mom left me. I didn't have anyone anymore.
"Andrew, I won't leave your side."
"... Me too." I muttered softly.
Days, weeks, and months passed, many things happened. Mint and I made new friends with Mark and Chloe. We studied with each other, hung out, celebrated each of our birthdays and many other happy moments.
Recognition day came. Time flies so fast. That's what I always think of. Well, me and my friends were recognized during that day. Suprisingly, Mint was one of the top 10 with me and Chloe.
Summer came. A time for relaxation. I spent most of the time at home, doing chores and looking after my little sister, Erica. Time to time, Mint would visit me too. We watched movies and played games.
One time, she said something that struck me hard like a truck.
"Andrew." she said while cuddling with my arm. (a/n: they is in the livin room)
"What is it Mint?" I asked looking at her.
"... you won't see me again." she replied in a sad and serious tone.
"Huh? Why?" I asked in confusion. "Is there something wrong? Did I—"
She cut me off placing her index finger on my lips. "I can't say the reason and you're not one of them."
My heart broke into pieces. At that moment, I hugged her tightly and I didn't want to let go. I softly cried on her shoulder, drenching her shirt.
She cupped my cheek and slowly.... kissed me. I kissed back, pulling her closer. She slightly pulled away and said, "I love you Andrew."
"You've been hiding it huh?" I teasingly asked.
She blushed furiously and I chuckled at her cute reaction. She really was a beauty...
"Andrew, I won't leave you." she said.
"Andrew.... Mint... She committed suicide."
"I love you."
About a week since we confessed to each other, Chloe rushed to my house and told me about Mint's sudden suicide incident. She was hanging on a big tree in their backyard. I didn't believed it. It was too much. She was fine and nothing was wrong with her. But when Mark drove me to the hospital, there I saw her pale, lifeless body. Her neck, bruised with blue and purple colors. I cupped her cold cheeks, crying over her fragile body......

It was a normal day at college. Attending classes, passing paperworks and all the other things students do. Well.... until this annoying girl would come up to me everyday.
"Hey Andrew!" Hailey called me out.
"Yeah?" I bluntly replied while arranging my locker.
"Help me out with my homework again, please?" she asked, hugging me from behind.
"..... sure. At your house?"
"Yes please!" she cheerfully explained. "Thanks in advance~"
I responded with a small nod. She pulled herself away and walked out of my sight.
I never wanted to be bothered by anyone, specifically girls, since THAT incident....
My summer was one hell of a depressing one for me. I didn't eat much, I ignored any calls and messages from my friends, and I almost killed myself too. If it wasn't for my little sister, I would be gone by now. And if it wasn't for the voice I kept hearing too... that familiar voice which comforted me.
Mint..
I slammed my locker shut, feeling weird looks and eyes upon my back. Since classes were already finished, I rushed out toward's the school's gates and took a cab to my house. When I arrived, I hurried to my room, happy that my sister was still in her daycare, and locked myself up.
'Andrew, are you back?' the voice asked.
I looked at where the voice is but I couldn't see someone.
"Who are you...?" I answered with a question.
I heard it giggle. 'You don't know me after talking with you during summer?'
"No...." I felt my heart ache. "I-I... I don't know you. P-probably I do but... I'm not so sure..."
That's when I saw a faded light at the corner of my room. A girl appeared, wearing a beautiful white dress. With blue sparkling eyes and short brown hair, she stood beside me.
And that's when it hit me.
'It's me Andrew...'
The beautiful smiling ghost was my beloved.....
'Mint.'
