Drabbles, part 1
A Rainy Day
Summary: Usagi is trying to take Chibichibi to the park in a rainy day, but getting anywhere with Chibichibi isn't that easy.
"Chibichibi! Wait!" Usagi called out while running after the little girl with two heart-shaped buns in her red hair. 'Take your little sister to the park, Usagi,' her mother had told her. Easier said than done. Well, Chibichibi loved going to the park, so that wasn't the problem. The problem was that it had started raining and Chibichibi was running from window to window instead of staying still to put on her rainy day clothes.
"Chibichibi!" The girl echoed Usagi, not stopping for a second. Then, just as Usagi was about to catch her, she suddenly made a 90-degree turn. Usagi, surprised, didn't follow fast enough and slammed straight into the wall.
"It hurts!!!" she wailed, sitting on the floor where she had fallen. Chibichibi stopped and walked over with a worried expression on her small face. "Chibi?"
Just then the kitchen door opened, revealing frowning Ikuko with a big wooden spoon in her hand. "What's with this ruckus?! I told you two to go to the park."
"But...but..." Usagi hiccupped.
"Chibi." Chibichibi just pointed at Usagi, as if to say she was hurt.
Ikuko sighed. "Listen, if you don't give me some peace and quiet, I'll never finish baking this cake I meant for your afternoon snack-" Before she could continue beyond that, Usagi had already stopped crying, gotten up and grabbed Chibichibi.
A few minutes later Ikuko heard her daughter call from the doorway, "We're going!"
Not fit to be a soldier
Summary: Luna has doubts about Usagi. (Takes place between anime episodes 2 and 3.)
Honestly...Usagi-chan never listens to what I say. How are we ever going to find the other soldiers, let alone protect the princess like this? She's such a klutz, too, and only starts crying when she should fight. *sigh* No sense of duty either, always oversleeping and getting distracted with video games or comic books. Maybe she's just not fit to be a soldier.
But then again, she could transform, so she has to be Sailor Moon. And she has defeated two youma this far. Even though it was only because Tuxedo Mask saved her at first. Both times.
Oh well, she's the only Sailor soldier I have. I just have to make the best of it.
The Last Chance
Summary: Jadeite realizes he doesn't have much time left to prove his worth to Queen Beryl. (Takes place right before anime episode 13.)
'Damn those Sailor soldiers!' Jadeite hit the wall next to the illusionary events playing on it with his fist. The impact left a hole in the solid stone, but did nothing to his frustration. Especially not with his latest failure repeating over and over before his own eyes.
Queen Beryl was clearly losing her patience, and the death of Tetis had been the last straw. He definitely wouldn't get more than one chance to prove his worth anymore. And simply collecting more human energy wouldn't be enough. No, he'd need to either find the legendary Silver Crystal or kill the Sailor soldiers to avoid her wrath. With still no knowledge of the whereabouts of the Silver Crystal in the whole Dark Kingdom, though, he was really left with only the latter option.
'I almost had them. If Queen Beryl hadn't interfered, they would be dead now,' he thought, watching as he had faced them on the deck of the wrecked ship Tetis had used for her plan to gather human energy. Then he turned away and the images vanished. 'How do I find them again? How do I find them quickly enough?'
Just then he sensed Queen Beryl calling for him and instantly teleported to the throne room. Delaying the inevitable would only make it worse.
