~sorry for not updating sooner, I just got writer's block. I won't make you wait any longer though, so here it goes!~

I ignored Scarlet's strange words, and thankfully made it to the bus on time. I sat with my cheek pressed against the glass as we made our way to school. The sun was just starting to come up over the horizon, and it was extremely quiet.

When we finally reached school, we were a bit early so I made my way to the band room, which was Rei's home room. He greeted me with a smile and walked over. "Hey man! What's up?"
"You're not going to ask about the 'love confession'?"
"You wish Ichigo. Come on man, there's no way you would get a confession this early."
"Didn't you say that's what you thought it was?"
"Thought what was?"
"Scarlet wanting to talk to me after school!" He looked at me nervously.
"Who's Scarlet? Are you okay man?" I just stared in shock.
"What do you mean 'who's Scarlet?' She's the girl who came into the nurses office yesterday."
"I'm really worried about you, did you hit your head on something?"
"Of course not, I just-" suddenly the bell rang and Rei put his hand on my shoulder.
"I've got to go, I'll see you in gym." He gave me another worried look before heading back inside. He looked really lonely by himself like that.

I headed toward my classroom and made it inside before the late bell. Scarlet wasn't in front of me anymore, it was just an empty seat. 'Could I really have dreamt all that? No stay calm, she's just absent, that's it.' I tried to reassure myself, however, my hopes were shattered when Scarlet's name wasn't on the class roster. No one else seemed to notice. 'Was it true did I really just-' I turned my head, and my eyes happened upon Rin's confused face. She was looking at the empty desk in front of me!

"Okay class! It's time to pick partners to discus the summer reading with." Ms. Foster called out. I turned nervously toward Rin and held out my hand. "Uh, hi, I'm Ichigo, you want to pair up?" She shrugged.
"Sure, I guess." She pulled her chair up to my desk.

Once everyone had found a partner the class got much louder. "Hey Rin," I said nervously, "I saw you looking at the desk in front of me, can I ask why?" She turned to me surprised before going back to her somewhat cold expression. "It was just a place to look I guess."
"Oh." Hopes crushed again.

Seeing the disappointment in my face she spoke up again, "why?"
"You wouldn't believe me," I laughed, "oh well, let's get back to the le-"
"Try me."

~I wanted to end there, because I like cliffhangers! HAHAHAHA! I'm going to become impatient with myself later on though, I can tell all ready. XD oh well, I'll probably update again in a little bit.~
