Chapter 5
Is This Really What We Want?

Wendy's P.O.V

As soon as our encounter with Fairy Tail was over, we immediately headed home. We walked in silence until we reached the guild, and upon arrival I went straight to my room.

I sat down and leaned against the bed, then began to cry.

Fairy Tail doesn't get it. We love all the guild members there like family, but....even families break up. I'm an orphan and they took me in, but then they kicked me out. So now, I'm here. I'm here, and I doubt anyone can take me away from them...

Someone knocks on the door, "Wendy...? Wendy are you in there? Can I come in?" Sierra opens the door, only to immediately rush to me.

"Wendy, what's wrong?" She wipes away my tears, her eyes glimmering with worry. I don't answer, and realization dawns on her face.

She sits down beside me, hugging her knees. "Wendy, do you want to hear a story?" I nod my head, slightly confused.

"Once upon a time, there were six completely different children, with completely different lives and pasts. These children, over the course of many odd encounters and adventures, became a family of sorts. A crazy family, with flaws and problems, but a family all the same. No matter what problems they had, it would all be okay in the end, for a true family will always stay together." She glances over at me.

"Wendy, you can't go back. You always can't, but, you can find forgiveness and happiness that can take you back to how it was. It won't be the same, but....all families have problems. Fairy Tail....that's your family, no matter what anyone tells you... Just remember..." She sighs and stares straight ahead.

"Families can be as big as an ocean, if only you let them in."

I shake my head, I know what she's saying, but....

"Sierra, my family has already grown."

Lucy's P.O.V

Stupid! Stupid! Stupid! Stupid idiot! I shake my head, thinking of Natsu and the rest of my 'friends'.

"Lucy, you're going to break that desk if you keep hitting it."

I spin around, only to see Cassie sitting on my bed, her feet dangling over the side as she flips through my novel. "Don't read that!" I scream and snatch it up.

"Hey! It's great though, I find writing a great way to express feelings."

"That's not what it is." I say quietly.

"Lucy, that book just keeps getting darker and darker, the more it progresses...." I scowl.

"Lucy, are you okay?" She asks, tilting her head to the side. Her eyes shine with worry, and not the regular worry as if I'd fallen down, the type of worry in which she's asking if I'm emotionally stable.

"I'm fine, perfectly fine."

She raises her head to look me in the eyes, "I don't believe you." It sounded like a dare, a challenge to my statement, and that's all it took. I began to cry, my vision blurred with tears until suddenly I was being hugged.

"Don't worry about them, their just.... Lucy, you'll find that as much as people try to push you down, you can always get back up. Always." She squeezes me tighter.

"We have a motto here, we didn't tell it to you because we thought you'd laugh, but... 'Find the light in the dark, and the dark in the light. The life in the death, and the death in the life. The worlds not complete without an incomplete balance.' " She sighs.

"Lucy Heartfilia, you are a strong, big hearted Mage who is perfect exactly the way she is, no matter what anyone tells you. But sometimes, I think you need to be reminded." Cassie smiles.

"But doesn't everyone?"

Juvia's P.O.V

The wind whips my hair around my face, and the setting sun sets the water of the lake on fire. It's beautiful, but the perfect silence is interrupted with the padding of footsteps.

From my perch in a tree, I feel like I can see the world, but the world isn't what I want it to be. I want to be with my family, but I don't know what that is anymore.

"I know what you're thinking Juvia, but we are part of your family, even if you don't realize or understand that anymore. We are." Rin says, sitting below me at the base of the tree.

"Juvia is wondering how you can think that." I say quietly.

"Juvia, I think you have the biggest personality here. You throw your heart out to others, even if you don't get anything in return. I think you've started to expect nothing back, so you have stopped trying." I keep quiet, not wanting to hear.

"I'm telling you now that, even if you don't always receive the love and kindness you deserve, you should keep trying. Because if you find that one person or people who will love you just the way you are, and you're not trying to find them anymore, then the opportunity is gone."

"Juvia thinks she may understand what you are trying to say."

Third Person P.O.V

The three original Shock Wave members put their hands out, reaching for the fallen fairies. Reaching out with their hearts, to really welcome them into a family, and one by one, these fallen and broken fairies pick themselves up.

With both sadness and happiness in their eyes, they take the hands of a family member, a friend. They reach out with their hearts and grasp onto the light and hope their new family had brought them.

"I'm home." They whisper.

Once upon a time, there was a family. It was flawed and cracked and bent, but is was there. It was small, but the hearts in each and everyone person of that family spanned as wide as an ocean. And in the days of freedom they had, they trained and fought for their new family. With every passing day they grew stronger. From pure determination, from having something to prove, and to make the family proud they grew stronger. Until, finally, they looked at what they had achieved and what they had built, and for once they were proud of themselves.

With pride and power and friendship in their hearts, they began their competition, set on winning their family the pride of the world.

{1074 words! Yay! Now, the next chapter shall be closer to the GMG and the chapter after that will be the start of the GMG! Fun, right?

Now, I need some shipping ideas, and also, I need some character ideas....

I need some different guilds for the GMG, and some wizards. So, if you guys could comment or PM me ideas that would be amazing!}
