After 4 years....

Shivaay is now 13 years old, Om is 10 years old and Rudy is 6 years old. Jay is 17 years old but ShivJay are still best of friends.

Shivaay has managed to move on, he gets sad when he misses his parents but he has very well managed his emotions.

He's now more overprotective and overpossessive of OmRu and is very close with Jay and Kaka.

He respects kaka a lot and has given him the position of his father but still calls him kaka.

Kaka has still not told ShivOmRu about the note and about the fact that their lives are in danger.

Oberoi's have not contacted them at all and Shivaay and kaka have no hopes of them coming back.

"Jaldi karo! Kaka aate hi honge." ("Make it fast! Kaka must be on his way.") Shivaay yelled at Jay and Om.

"Bhaiya ? Hum yeh balloons kyu laga rahe hai ?" ("Bhaiya? Why are we putting up decorations?") Lil, 6 year old Rudy asked Shivaay while passing him a blue balloon to stick it on the wall.

"Kyu ki Ru baby, aj tumhare baba ka birthday hai." ("Because it's your baba's birthday today.") Shivaay smiled at Ru and jumped down the stool.

"Wow ! Matlab cake !" ("Wow! Cake!")  Rudy cheered and giggled.

Shivaay laughed and ruffled Rudy's hairs affectionately.

"We're ready Shiv." Jay said as he and Om came out of the kitchen.

"Please mujhe batao ki tum dono ne mera cake kharab nahi kiya." ("Please tell me you two haven't ruined my cake.") Shivaay mumbled dramatically.

Jay and Om looked at each other and smirked.

"Hume kharab karne ki jarurat hi nahi padi, woh pehle se kitna kharab tha." ("We didn't need to ruin it, it was already in ruins since you baked it.") Om and Jay said in unison and burst out laughing.

"Accha ?" ("Is it?") Shivaay narrowed his eyes playfully at them both. "Toh fir kaka jab cake katenge na tab tum dono ko kuch nahi milega. Mein aur Ru Baby hi cake khayenge." ("Alright, you two won't get the cake once baba cuts it. I and Ru baby won't spare a single bite for you guys.")

Shivaay and Rudy hified each other and stuck their tongues out at Jay and Om.

Just then a knock sounded on the door.

"Hey lagta hai kaka aa gaye !" ("Seems like kaka's here.") Jay said in hushed voice. "Chalo jaldi chup jao. Go OmRu, hide." ("Let's hide.")

OmRu nodded and ran towards their hiding place while Shivaay switched the lights off and Jay got ready to open the door.

"Ready ? Mein darwaza khol raha hu." ("Ready? I'm opening the door.") Jay asked and stood behind the door.

Jay opened the door and stepped behind the door to hide himself so when kaka walked in all he saw was darkness.

"Shiv ?" Kaka called softly.

Oh I forgot to mention, Shivaay had convinced kaka to call them by their names without adding 'baba' at the end, a few years back.

"Shiv ? Om ? Kaha ho baccho ?" ("Where are you all?") Kaka walked inside with worry written all over his face.

Suddenly Shivaay switched the lights on and everyone jumped out of their hiding place and yelled, "SURPRISE !"

Kaka stumbled back a few steps in shock at first but then grinned at the kids. "Yeh sab kya hai ?" ("What's all this?") He laughed a bit.

"Happy Birthday Baba/Kaka !!!" ShivOmRu and Jay yelled again.

"Thank you bacchon." ("Thank you kids.") Kaka smiled and sat on the chair. He removed his shoes and went to get fresh.

"Jao jaldi cake leke aao Shivaay." ("Bring the cake, Shivaay.") Jay said while he made space for the cake on the coffee table.

Shivaay nodded and went to get the cake.

The cake was simple but considering it was baked by Shivaay it was beautiful. It was a square shaped cake with chocolates spread on it and 'Happy Birthday Baba / Kaka' written on it in brown icing.

Shivaay placed it on the coffee table. They all patiently waited for kaka to come.

After a while kaka came and sat on the cot while staring at the cake in awe.

"Yeh aap kab laye Shiv ?" ("When did you bring the cake Shiv?") Kaka asked.

"Kaka, yeh Shivaay ne khud banaya hai." ("Shivaay has baked it himself, kaka.") Jay replied enthusiastically.

Kaka looked at Shivaay with a proud smile. He was happy that Shivaay was becoming better at cooking everyday and he was also not shy to explore the art of cooking.

"Waah Shiv, aap toh master chef bante jaa rahe hai." ("Wow Shiv, you're becoming a master chef.") Kaka smiled making Shivaay's cheek go blush pink.

"Thank you." Shivaay mumbled.

"Chalo kaka cake cut karte hai issey pehle ki Shivaay sharma sharma ke pighal jaye." ("Come kaka, cut the cake before Shivaay becomes a fire ball with all the blushing.") Jay laughed making other laugh as well.

"Shut up Jay !" Shivaay yelled in embarrassment but smiled nonetheless.

Kaka nodded and cut the cake. Everyone sung happy birthday song for him and he fed the first piece of cake to ShivOmRu and Jay too. Then ShivOmRuJay fed him the cake.

After eating cake and praising Shivaay for his amazing cooking / baking skills, kaka gathered everyone around him and asked Om to bring his bag.

"Yeh lijiye baba. Isme kya hai ?" ("Here, baba. What's in it?") He asked while handing over the bag.

"Yaha baithiye, mein batata hu." ("Sit here, I'll tell you.") Kaka smiled and patted the place near him.

Om sat down.

"Mere pass aap sab ke liye kuch hai." ("I've something for all of you.") Kaka smiled and saw everyone's eyes shine with excitement.

"Sabse pehle sabse chote se shuru karte hai." ("Let's start with the youngest.") He said and put his hand inside the bag. "Ru, yeh aapke liye." ("Ru, this is for you.")

Kaka pulled out a red Lightening McQueen school bag and gave it to Rudy.

"Wow !" Rudy adored his new school bag with a huge grin.

"Rudy ? Koi gift deta hai toh kya bolte hai ?" ("Rudy, what's the magical word?") Shivaay prompted.

"Thank you." Rudy answered Shivaay's question and then turned to kaka. "Thank you Baba !" He squealed and hugged kaka.

Kaka chuckled. "You're welcome mere nanhe shaitan." ("You're welcome my lil devil.") Kaka said and ruffled Rudy's hairs.

Rudy wore his school bag on his back and ran away in excitement.

"Ab Om ki bari." ("Now Om.") Kaka said and pulled out a set of different types of colours. "Apko drawing karna pasand hai na ? Toh yeh apke liye." ("You like drawing, don't you? So this is for you.")

Om took the big box in his hands and opened it. He ran his hands on the oil pastels, colour pencils, crayons, water colour cakes, oil paint tubes and sketch pens before looking up at Kaka and giving him a hug.

"Thank you. Thank you so much, baba. Aap bahot acche hai." ("You're just amazing.") Om said in excitement and happiness.

Kaka kissed Om's forehead. "Welcome."

"Ab Jay tumhari bari." ("Now Jay it's your turn.") Kaka said.

"Kaka mein ? Pr mein toh sabse bada hu, mere se pehle toh Shivaay ka number hona chahiye na ?" ("Me? But I'm the eldest among them, it's Shivaay's turn, isn't it?") Jay asked.

"Kis ka, Shiv ka ? Yeh mahashay toh mujhse bhi bade hai. Puri duniya ke tensions sar pe liye ghumte hai, jab bacchon jaise rehna sikh jayenge tab woh tumse chote honge, abhi nahi." ("Who, Shivaay? This big guy is older than me. He carries the world's tensions on his shoulder. I'll consider younger than you when he'll start behaving like that, not now.") Kaka said and laughed at Shivaay's frowns.

"Kya kaka aap bhi." ("Why are you pulling my leg, kaka.") Shivaay mumbled with a pout.

"Aao Jay." ("Come Jay.") Kaka pulled out a pair of black luminous dancing sneakers. "Yeh tumhare liye." ("These are for you.")

Jay couldn't believe his eyes. He had been bugging his parents for those shoes since a week and they were avoiding the topic and here was kaka, who had bought those shoes for him without even asking for it.

"Pr apko kaise pata chala ki mujhe yahi shoes chahiye the ?" ("But how would you know I wanted these?") Jay asked in surprise.

"Apka dost." ("Your friend told me.") Kaka replies shortly and Jay looked at Shivaay who just shrugged his shoulders.

"Pr kaka, mein yeh nahi le sakta.." ("but kaka, I cannot take these...") Jay said as a formality.

"Arey beta rakh lo, mein apke mumma papa se baat kar lunga." ("Just keep it, I'll talk to your parents about it.") Kaka smiled at Jay's grin.

"Thank you. Thank you. Thank you so much kaka !" Jay jumped up and down in excitement.

"Aur ab aap." ("Now last but not least.") Kaka turned to Shivaay who had been patiently waiting for his turn.

Kaka pulled out a gift wrapped box from the bag and handed it to Shivaay.

Shivaay took the box and tore opened the wrapping. He gasped in surprise when he saw what was inside it.

Shivaay looked up at kaka. "Aap mere liye ek mobile leke aaye hai ?" ("You've bought me a mobile phone?") He asked in disbelief.

Kaka nodded with a smile. "Bas itna hi nahi, mein agle mahine se apko pocket money bhi dene wala hu." ("Not just that, I'll be giving you pocket money from next month as well.")

Shivaay looked at kaka in shock like kaka had grown 2 heads.

"But kaka..." Shivaay started but kaka cut him off.

"Ru, Om ! Yaha aaiye." ("Ru, Om! C'mere.") Kaka yelled.

OmRu came running towards kaka.

Kaka took out the last item from the bag which was a sweets box and opened it. He picked one 'pedha' from the box and fed it to ShivOmRu and Jay.

"Yeh khayiye pedha !" ("Have pedha!") Kaka cheered.

"Kis khushi mein kaka ?" ("What's up with pedhas?") Jay asked curiously while taking two more pedhas from the box.

"Mujhe nayi naukri mili hai. Mein ab McDonald's mein manager hu." ("I've got a new job. I'm a manager at McDonald's now.") Kaka revealed.

"Wow that's so great kaka." Jay was the first to react.

Shivaay just stood there smiling. "Congratulations kaka." He finally managed to coax out and hugged kaka.

"Ab apko paiso ki chinta karne ki koi jarurat nahi hai, Shiv." ("Now you don't have to worry about money, Shiv.") Kaka whispered into Shivaay's ear before they pulled apart.

Next morning,

Everyone woke up late cause they had went to bed late last night.

Shivaay was now in grade 9 so he had morning shift school cause he needed to attend the extra lectures while Om was still in grade 5 so his school timing was 2 hours late than Shivaay's.

However both of their schools finished at the same time so they both used to come home together.

This morning was nothing new, Shivaay had been to school, and now kaka was trying to wake OmRu up so that they can get ready for school.

"Baba, nahi jaana. Mujhe apke sath rehna hai." ("Baba, don't wanna go. I wanna stay home with you.") Ru pouted and gave his best puppy dog eyes to kaka.

"Nahi, school jana jaruri hai. Aapko apne Shivaay bhaiya jaisa banna hai na ? Toh school jana hoga." ("No, it's important to go to school. Don't you wanna be like your Shivaay bhaiya?") Kaka tried to convince him.

But Ru was smart...

"Nahi baba, mujhe apke jaise banna hai...Aur aap toh school nahi jaate toh mein bhi nahi jaunga." ("No baba, I wanna be like you... Since you don't go to school I won't go either.") Ru said and crossed his arms.

Kaka chuckled. "Badmash ho gaye hai aap." ("Aren't you getting smarter.") He said and lightly tapped his cheeks. "Aap school jayenge, matlab jayenge verna baba apse baat nahi karenge aur apko chocolates bhi nahi denge. Aur toh aur woh naya school bag sirf ghar pe rakhna hai kya ?" ("You'll be going to school. No excuses. Or else I won't speak with you and no chocolates as well. Don't you wanna use your new school bag?")

Ru's eyes widened and he nodded frantically. "Mein jaunga school. Naya school bag ! Mein apne sab friends ko dikhaunga." ("I'll go to school. I'll show my new school bag to everyone at school!") He said and ran towards the bathroom to brush his teeths.

Kaka chuckled softly before going towards Om's sleeping figure.

"Om, uthiye." ("Om, wake up.") He shook Om but Om didn't open his eyes. "Uthiye jaldi, verna school ke liye late ho jayenge." ("Get up, you'll be late for school.")

Om was actually awake but he was pretending to be asleep.

Finally, Om decided to 'wake up' and opened his eyes. "Baba, mujhe school nahi jana." ("Baba, I don't wanna go.") He mumbled.

"Apko kyu nahi jana ab ?" ("Why don't you wanna go now?") Kaka asked with a sigh.

"Uh...um...mere pet mein dard hai ? Ha, mere pet mein dard hai." ("Uh...um..I've stomach ache? Yes, my stomach's hurting.") Om came up with a lie.

"Accha ?" ("Now is it?") Kaka raised an eyebrow. "Arey bichare Om, koi baat nahi hum abhi doctor ke pass jate hai woh apko ek sui laga denge aur aap thik ho jayenge fir uske baad mein apko school chod dunga." ("Poor Om, I'll take you to doctor he'll give you a shot, then you'll be alright and I'll drop you off to school.")

Kaka suppressed his smile when he saw Om's fear stricken face.

"Nahi." ("No.") Om sat up immediately. "Nahi, dard chala gaya." ("No, I'm fine now.") He said and stood up.

He was walking towards the bathroom but suddenly turned around towards kaka. "Baba, aj aap ghar ka saaman lane jaane wale ho na ?" ("Baba, aren't you going grocery shopping today?") He asked.

Kaka looked at him and nodded. "Haan, apko kuch chahiye ?" ("Yeah, you want something ?") He asked while folding the blankets.

"Nahi." ("Nope.") Om shook his head. "Aj toh Shiv bhaiya bhi late aayenge." ("Shiv bhaiya is going to be late today.") Om said slowly.

"Haan, Shiv ka extra lecture hai aj." ("Yeah, he has extra lectures today.") Kaka replied absent-mindedly.

"Toh apko akele hi bade bade bags uthake lane honge." ("Then you'll have to lift the heavy bags yourself.") Om said with a fake frown. "Nahi, nahi kaka, mere hote huye apko saaman uthana pade yeh toh galat hai...Ek kaam karte hai, aj mein ghar pe ruk jata hu, hum dono milke jayenge bazaar." ("No, no absolutely not. It would be so wrong if you lift those bags when I'm here to help you...Let's do one thing, I'll take a day off today and we'll go shopping later.")

Kaka furrowed his eyebrows.

Why was Om finding ways to bunk the school ?

"Aap ko aj school kyu nahi jaana ?" ("Why don't you wanna go to school today?") He directly asked Om.

"Ai..aisa toh kuch nahi hai." ("It's...it's not like I don't wanna go.") Om said quickly and ran away to brush his teeths.

After half an hour, both OmRu were ready in their uniforms. They both were playing outside the house while waiting for kaka to get ready so that kaka could drop them off to school.

OmRu were playing hide and seek and it was Om's turn to find Ru. Om was searching for Ru when he saw a herd of cow passing by and an idea popped in his brain.

Om took out his tiffin box from his bag, opened it and called the cow to eat his tiffin.

He smiled when he saw that cow had licked his tiffin clean.

Just that moment kaka came out of the house. "Yeh kya ho raha hai ?" ("What's happening?") Kaka asked in shock when he saw Om feeding his tiffin to cow.

Om turned towards kaka with an innocent face. "Baba, iss gau mata ne mera pura tiffin kha liya." ("Baba, cow has eaten my lunch.") He pouted with fake sadness. "Ab mere pass school mein khane ke liye tiffin nahi hai, toh aj mein school nahi jaa sakta." ("Now I don't have lunch so I need to take off today.") He quickly added.

Kaka sighed. He understood that Om had did that on purpose.

Kaka sat on his knees before Om. "Aapko school kyu nahi jaana ?" ("Why don't you wanna go to school today?")

Om held his head down.

"Koi pareshani hai apko school mein ? Koi kuch bolta hai ?" ("Is someone troubling you?") Kaka asked with concern.

Om shook his head saying 'no'.

"Toh fir kyu nahi jaana ? Aur sach sach batayiye." ("Then what's wrong ? Tell me the truth.") Kaka demanded in a soft voice.

"Woh mera best friend Saransh bimar hai. Woh kal bhi school nahi aaya tha aur aj bhi nahi aayega." ("My best friend, Saransh, is sick. He was absent yesterday and won't be coming to school today either.") Om started to explain. "Aur Saransh ke bina mujhe school accha nahi lagta, isiliye nahi jana." ("And without him I don't like school so I don't wanna go.")

Kaka smiled at his childishness. "Accha, thik hai. Ab mujhe ek baat batao, agar aap aj school nahi gaye aur teacher ne kuch important sikha diya toh ? Aur agar Saransh ke aapse pucha ki kya sikhaya tha toh aap usey kya jawab doge ?" ("Ah, ok. Tell me one thing, what if you take off today and the teacher teaches something important today? And what if Saransh asks for notes, what would you do then?") Kaka asked.

Om stayed silent.

"Om, Sarash bimar hai aur ghar pe reh raha hai kyu ki usey pata hai ki uska best friend Om uske liye notes bana raha hai. Hai na ?" ("Om, Saransh is sick and he's resting at his home tension free cause he knows his best friend Om would cover for him and will also help him with notes, right?") Kaka asked.

Om nodded.

"Toh fir ? Aap aj ke notes kaise banaoge agar aj aap school nahi gaye toh ?" ("Then how would you give him today's notes if you miss school?")

Om nodded. "Sorry baba, mein school jaunga." ("Sorry, baba. I'll go to school.") He mumbled.

"Good. Aur agli baar jhoot mat boliyega. Kyu ki jhoot bure bacche bolte hai." ("Good. And next time don't lie. Bad boys lie.") Kaka smiled and stood up.

After that kaka dropped OmRu to school after buying some snacks for Om's lunch.

How are you all ? Hope you're doing fine and staying home.

This chapter was really random to be honest. No surprises, no suspence, no excitement just normal stuff.

Btw, let me share a secret...
You just read a part where Om fed his tiffin to a cow so that he could bunk school, right ?...
Well, it was a true incident which I wrote... When I was like 7 years old, I had did that cause I didn't like what my grandma had given me in the tiffin so I found a cow and fed her my tiffin.🙈🙈🙈😛😛😂😂

Yes, I was a very naughty and troublemaking child...🙈🙈😂😂😂😂

Next chapter will be an emotional ride and there's going to be a shock for you all...

(Note : I said SHOCK not Surprise.)

You might start hating me after next chapter...🙈😂
