OS : Too Late For Remorse?

This OS begins where Shivaay introduces Tanya as his wife after fifteen days of his disappearance.
"She is my wife - Tanya", he introduced the woman to the media. While she stood behind him, staring away. Flashes of their marriage before her eyes. His vows ringing in her ears. She stepped behind slowly, unable to see it all in front of her eyes. Her eyes were already moist, the tears, threatening to roll down.

He glanced sideways and turned slightly, raising his gaze to meet hers. His heart ached to see her ... She was breaking!

Again! He was repeating it all, this time unknown to himself.

***

Lost in his thoughts he walked down the corridor towards his room. He had to end this all soon. It burnt him to see her on tears. What a way to start a new wedded life! He stopped in track when he saw Anika leave the room taking a suitcase behind her. Oh, no. Where was she going? He had to give her a hint and tell her he was being blackmailed. He was about to call out to her, but she turned to look at him before he could even call. Tears still shone in her eyes. She walked up to where he stood.

"Are you okay?"

He simply nodded in a yes.

"Stop this please." She pleaded in a mere whisper.

He gulped, wanting to hug her and tell her it was him. When he saw Tanya approaching them, he looked aside frustrated.

She misunderstood his frustration.

"Why do you do this to me every time?" She asked looking defeated."Har baar...Shivaay... Har baar!"

"Look. I have had enough. I told you, you are not..." He struggled to complete the sentence. His eyes were switching glances between Tanya's gaze and Anika. He had to pretend to have lost his memory.

"...your wife." She completed it for her. It broke him to see her stand there like that, broken in front of his sight.

"Why?" She asked once again, her heart in turbulent pain.

"Look, mujhe irritate mat karo...Maine kaha naa...just go!" He said, hoping she would leave, cause he had no strength to hurt her further.

She nodded wiping he tears. "If I leave I will never come back, not again Shivaay!" She looked aside.

He shot up a glance at her, how could she agree to go? She had to fight him, tell him it was her right to stay. She had to fight for him for once. His jaw muscles clenched at the mere thought of her leaving him, to never return. Hell he would never let that happen.

She slowly walked back to her suitcase, in hope that in the very next step he would stop her. But he dint.

One last glance she gave him and disappeared.

His heart screamed, but she had turned deaf ears to him. She had died every minute waiting for him from the past fifteen days. Telling himself he was alright, praying for him day and night. She had loved him every moment, only to be once again shown he would do anything he wanted in their relationship. Her heart shouted cried to allow her to go back to him, but her brain subdued her heart (something she had learnt from him). Her brain quietly suppressed her heart's cries warning it, lest it should lie shattered and broken again.

**

"Anika!" He woke up looking around. He was sweating profusely. He rubbed his forehead and quickly gulped in some water. He had to go to her. Something just din't feel right.

He walked out of his room only to be stopped by Tanya.

"Where are you going?" She asked him her eyes scrutinizing him.

"To her!"

"That's not an option!" She said folding her arms. "You know the consequence!"

"Hell with the world. All I care about is her. I can do this no more. I can't let myself break her again. Never. Do what you want, I will fight all, but her!"

He started walking towards the exit hurriedly.

"Shivaay, you have played well so far, don't fall weak now. The consequence will be terrible. I warn you for your own good!" Tanya tried her last bit to stop him.

"Anika meri Jaan hai! Agar jaan hi nahi rahegi toh jeene ka kya fayda? I was weak to fall in your trap, and she is my strength. When she is by my side, I can conquer the world, tum log chaah kar bhi kuch nahi bigad paaoge!" He walked out, to her her back, his heart thudding furiously hoping she was alright.

A knock and two. No response yet again. He panicked. Where was she? Chanda. He called her immediately, the lady dint pick up. He rushed to Chanda's house.

He ran like a maniac through the hospital's monotonous corridors. A few cries, a few shrill screams and a few terrorized faces was all he witnessed. He had been told by Chanda's neighbors that Chandra had left for the hospital as one of her friends had met with an accident. He just hoped that friend wasn't Anika, though his heart knew something was terribly wrong with he could sense it. It dint take him long to locate the hospital room he had been directed to.

"Anika!?" He whispered wanting a no for the answer as he looked at Chandra. She nodded in a small yes. His eyes widened, slightly red, he was furious at himself. His heart refrained from beating, and was now beating painfully. He saw a nurse move inside.

"If I leave I will never come back,.." Her words echoed in her ears. "No. No.No...she can't!" He ran to the room, only to be stopped by Chanda, and a few other attendants.

"Sir, you can't go inside!"

"I can! No one can take her away from me."

"She will be fine. You need to cooperate with the doctors!" Spoke Omkara coming to his side in time.

"Om...Anika...inko baata naa...she is my wife...!"

"She is my wife! he said again only wishing he had said it before.

Om had tears in his eyes seeing his brother crestfallen. He cried like a baby. Chanda had called at home, but by then Shivaay had left, as soon as Omkra had heard the news he had rushed to the hospital while Rudra had gone looking for Shivaay.

Om quickly hugged his brother. "Kuch nahi hoga bhaabhi ko. Kuch nahi. She is a fighter Shivaay, she will fight it all to be with you."

He sat their quietly his gaze fixed at the door of the room she was in. Memories both good and worse ran before his eyes.

They had come such a long way together. Still he wasn't able to hold her close by him through the thick and thin.

Mere baad kisko,

Mere baad kisko sataoge,

Mere baad kisko,

Bass bhi karo kitna rulaoge,

Mere baad kisko..

"Jab aapki zindagi ke faisle koi aur legaa naa uss din aapko ehsaas hoga Shivaay, aap chaa kar bhi kuch nahi kar paayenge."

Main tu hoon chiraiya aakash ki,

Pinjrey se udd ke main jo gayi,

Phir laut ke kabi naa aaungi,

Phir haath se kisko khilaoge,

Aur neend se kisko jagaoge,

Mere baad kisko,

Mere baad kisko..

A lone tear escaped his eye. He had always regretted what he had done but never verbalized it. He had hurt her time and again- he knew. But, he had loved her then and loved her now; and would always!
