1: OS || Closer Than Ever ||
She pushed open the door to bar, dressed on a cherry red top, grey jeans paired with the dark black boots . Her only relief centre, it helped her push away his absence in her life. Four years, and yet she wasn't over him. She knew she will never, nor did she want to.But the pain was killing, she kept herself busy over the week in work, but the weekends were hard.
Shifting to Europe had been a great idea, though it was the hardest of the battles she had faced in life. He wouldn't find her that way. He wouldn't even in the wild think that she was out of India. She smiled at her victory as she placed her order, making herself comfortable on the stool.Their stupid challenges, even staying away from him was her challenge for her, she won, it ha been four years and he had not located her yet. She grinned. What an irony!
She din't cry that much now, she had grown immune, no one was there to wipe those tears, no one to comfort her. Rather he wasn't there for her. She ran her finger on the cold glass filled with ice cold, golden liquid. He wasn't there. Why din't he find her still, wasn't everything like possible for him to do.? Or maybe he wasn't finding her anymore cause he din't want to!!! Her heart ached at the thought. "What of he had moved on? " her mind screamed. She sipped down the bitter cold liquid that burned her throat. "I don't want him to find me, I am fine, I don't need him!" She said to herself. Lie it was.
She ordered yet another glass. She hated being idle. It always made her mind go back to him, where her heart was...with him.No. He won't come. I don't want him to come. Lie..! She craved for him, their Love, his care.
She sipped down the burning liquid down her throat, it was nothing compared to how her heart burned.
"Hell to you Mr. Baagad Billa, what have you done to me." She was now a changed woman. She had changed every habit which he liked, everything that reminded her of him. She had spent months perfecting her English, months of training in mathematics, months of practice of cooking, she herself din't know why she did that. Because that was what he liked or she no longer wanted to be the Anika he loved.
She was at her third glass, she looked at it still indecisive. She was now settled to two glasses, but today she had ordered her third. She din't know what was it, she felt more miserably irritated today, her heart was beyond normal, at unease today. She fingered the glass, trying to make her mind.
"Its your third!" Said a crisp voice, that startled her. She looked at the source. Her eyes locked with the sapphire ones. He came closer and stood beside her, indicating the bartender for a juice. Then turning to look at her, who looked at him in the most bewildering expression. She shook her head, blinked her eyes. He din't move a bit.
She turned to face the front, she was hallucinating him again! Seems like the previous two glasses had gone heavy on her. She called to the bartender by the name and left the money on the platform. Fumbling a bit she got off from the stool and made her way towards the crowd. She was tempted to turn and check whether he was for real. No, she her hopes had to be murdered. She din't turn. Making her way among the crowd of dancing people she reached the end of the room,a few people making out in the vicinity, she looked at the stairs that led to the streets outside. She had taken one step, when she felt herself being pulled backwards and pushed to a nearby wall in a shadowed region. Trying hard to register what was happening she looked up, to see those intense blue eyes boring into her, while she was trapped between his arms, the wall and him.
She widened her eyes, "Are you here for real!"
He couldn't help but chuckle. He could quite relate with that. He had also got into day dreaming her almost everywhere not to forget the nights sleepless without her presence. His gaze drifted downwards from her eyes to her lips. How he had missed gazing at them. He slowly touched her cheek with his palm, she let out a hissed breath at that. His own breathing jerked uneasily. He still affected her the same, after 4 long years of staying away.
His eyes drifted back to her eyes kissing him every where on his face. " You have changed!" He whispered huskily, moving his face close to her cheeks inhaling her scent, which was no longer the same. Not that he complained. Her face now close to his stubble, she inhaled his peculiar scent, the scent that was a part of her Shivaay."You have changed as well!" She said, slowly moving he head backwards. He moved away to face her again.
"Like?" He asked, his eyes devouring her presence hungrily."You are more rough now, your hands, your stubble, your eyes!" She said her words flowing out smoothly like the gentle waves, maybe due to the alcohol.
He chuckled. "Have been away from delicate things, delicate people for too long!" He said his thumb drawing pattern over her cheeks."You are a wild mess now!"
Her breathing heavy, she shot a glare at him."Thanks To You Mr.Baagad Billa!"
He looked back at her with an equally intense look. "Really? Weren't you the one who snooped out of my life !?" He spat, moving his body still closer to hers. Loving the way she addressed him, still."I din't have another option, you see!" She spat back."Why do you have to love me so much?" He placed a wet kiss on the junction of her cheek and jaw. The situation she had been in, and under which she had to leave him, were difficult for him to digest, but that just showed how much she loved him.
She closed her eyes shut as she felt his lips against her skin. She din't know what burned harder, her heart, her throat, her eyes or her skin under his lips. "I don't love you!" She managed to mumble. His presence felt so good. Her words not in a bit matched her feelings. He looked at her his eyes burning, his right palm held hers and drove it all the way up to their view, intertwining his fingers with hers, he pressed them against her palm, his eyes fixed on hers."Really!? You think I will buy that dialogue of yours?!"
Her lashes flickered, as she looked up at him and then his palm that was now commanding over her palm. His palmed moved recklessly over her palm.
"I repeat, I don't love you!" She said her look challenging.Grinning he, wrapped his other hand around her waist pulling her closer."That's why you left Saahil behind with me, that's why you left this with me.!" He slipped out of his pocket her treasured bracelet and slowly put it on, on its rightful place. While his eyes focussed at her palm, hers on him. "Does he (Saahil) miss me!?"
He looked back at her, "I think your first question should have been ...is he fine!?"
"Of course he is, he is with you, he will be more than fine! " she spoke without thinking a bit, a minute later she curse the bitter liquid. He smiled at her confidence over him. Time had changed nothing between them. Of course they had changed but their hearts were still the same old fellows.
"But that doesn't mean I love you, I left the bracelet in hurry...!" She completed, looking at him, while he only cherished looking at her.Running his palm over her hair down the length of her tresses, "Of Course, that's why you still wear this!" He said slightly moving his hand over her neck revealing her mangalsutra. He looked at her and she blinked looking back at him.
"I don't love you!" She said looking the other way.
He placed his finger on her chin and made her look back at him."But , I am irrevocably, in love with you.! 4 years Anika, how could you leave me all alone like that. You have no idea, what I have gone through... Kahaan nahi dhoonda tumhe, this is not fair Anika, you broke our promise.!"
Her eyes moistened as, his voice shook with emotion, as he cupped her face. "I m sorry Anika, please come back.!"
She heard her name after years. She was now Ann not Anika. She loved the way he took her name.
"You don't have to be sorry for anything Shivaay!" She spoke cupping his face in her palms.
"I want you Anika, cause there can be no Shivaay without Anika!""I don't want to come back!" She said determined.
He rubbed his stubble against her cheek, and whispered into her ears-"How about I steal you away, back to OUR HOME!"
She closed her eyes feeling him. "Don't do this all over again! We have moved on for good!" She trembled as he kissed her earlobe. "Running away isn't moving on, Anika! Besides, I know you have been waiting for this day, and you want US as much as I do.! Can you trust me?"
She immediately turned at that.
"I dont want to!" She lied. She said pushing him away. In response he only grabbed her waist roughly and pulled her closer."I will make you trust me again!" He said placing a kiss on her forehead.
She looked at him, her heart racing at the proximity. She couldn't refrain more. She had died every minute to be with him. She can't fight him, she never could. That was it. Her mind was made.Without a thought she slid her arms around his neck and let her lips crash over his, giving him the answer he wanted. Making no further delay, he kissed her back with equal vigour, his hands caressing her body and pushing it more into his. She tasted a blend of alcohol and herself. He was getting intoxicated in the process. She was intoxicating for him. The 4 painful years had been washed away by the few moments he had shared with her.
She was wild. He was rough. Their hearts that were ached, by the separation now found solace.
She broke apart blushing. Her head hammering, as the after effects of the drink seeped in. He grinned, breathing heavily,"Like I said You are a wild mess!"
"And you Rough!" She said panting for breath.
"I want my Khidkitod, paagal, Anika back!" I know she lives, somewhere here. He spoke against her face.
"I doubt whether you can find her back. !" She said looking down, while he looked at her.
The very next moment he slipped his hand beneath her top, caressing her waist, causing her to gasp at his touch."Shivaay, ye kya kar rahe hai aap!" She exclaimed like she always used to
He smiled, "She lives here, I see her.!" He said boring his gaze into hers. "I already found her.!" He winked.
She couldn't help but giggle, at his animatedly cute and undoing expressions."Aap naa ek number ki chaalu cheez hain!" She placed a chaste kiss on his cheek.
He smiled wider than ever. She was back. His Khidkitod Anika! A minute later she realized, that she had found herself back. She hadn't spoken like herself for months, she hadn't heard her own giggles for years, and with just minute he found her.
She had done too much after her drink. She was loosing it now. She held her head, it hammered like crazy. He understood, "Why did you have to drink so much!? Dare you touch that stupid thing again." He frowned, supporting her.
"Its okay Shivaay, I m used to it!"
It killed him to see her that way. It wasn't something she would do. "Lemme carry you back to my car!"
"No, we can take the cab, it's quite convinent.!"
He heard no more he scooped her in her arms and carried her back to his Rover. He helped her into the backseat and sat beside her, as the driver pulled the car down the drive way.
She looked at him, her eyes growing drosy. She inched closer, he was unsure. She moved her lips to his,but he pulled back. He din't want her to regret anything she did under the effect of the drink. She pouted, frowning at him. "You are drosy, you need sleep", he said taking her in his embrace such that her head was now resting against her chest. She pulled back her head and looked at him, his lips to be specific. He let out a curse. All he wanted was to kiss her back. But he was scared. She gently squeezed his palm, her eyes pleading him. Thats it. Jerking her slightly back be claimed her lips, kissing her passionately. Breaking apart he smiled at her, she at him. He was grateful to the privacy they had.She snuggled closer to him, and after four long years she slept in peace, in his arms. The rest was forgotten.
She had always been wild, but beneath that wildness lay the most delicate being, he knew. He smiled at her. He was the happiest man on earth. She drowsily opened her eyes, smiled at him and drifted back to sleep.
This time both were sure, they wouldn't let the other go, no matter what, they knew the pain of separation, and couldn't afford anymore of it. Now they were much closer than they could ever be..!
