So this:

I got to theorizing with a few friends and it turns out that this might actually be a reference to when Hot Rod became a Prime.

"Rodimus"

"Hotmus"

Hotshot may actually be dead in that Easter egg and this might be a representation of passing on the matrix. Just like with Hotrod.

It might also be a joke that the animators put in for giggles and we might not actually get a "Hotmus Prime"

But it's just a theory.
