Speaking of public skating plz tell me I'm not the only cocky one that does this. But when I get on the rink for the first time I glide a bit, do a tight turn, then stop to test my blades but it's also a bit of a show off move tbh. And to make things better, the people who can barely skate are very impressed it's hilarious xD
