Inside dream

"Daddy! Daddy"! My five-year-old son asked tugging on my leg as I dressed myself for work. "Yes, Shisui"? "I wanna go to work with you today". "What about your schoolwork"? "I'm one of the best students in my class and I can always have a clone go instead of me".

"Wouldn't you rather stay home and help your papa with Itachi"? He shook his head. "No, I wanna be with you". I smiled. "Did you ask papa if it was ok"? "Mhm, he said it was ok. Please daddy"! "Alright, Alright, let's go". I ruffled his hair making him smile.

He stayed glued to my hip as we arrived at the police station. I led him to my office and went sit at my desk while he sat at the small desk I had against the wall for him. So far all of my boys have wanted to follow me to work to get a better idea of what it is their father does.

Hashirama never says it but I know it bothers him when the boys never ask to go with him. Thankfully he knows they don't do it purposefully to hurt his feelings. I'm sure we'll eventually have one that'll want to take after him more. Maybe it'll be Itachi? Out of the four of them, he's the gentlest.

"Any new cases"? "Hm, maybe". I went through the files on my desk, a lot of them were cases my officers were working on. I only had a select few that I took for myself. One being a domestic disturbance between a woman and her boyfriend. She had came to the station herself and specifically asked for my help. I couldn't turn her down after seeing the bruises and black eye.

"I do have one but I'm debating on rather or not I should take you". "Why"? "Because this is a domestic abuse case. The man that lives in the house is extremely dangerous and I would hate for you to get hurt if things go south".

"You're forgetting one thing though". "What's that"? "I'm your son. You trained me yourself as well as Uncle Izuna. If I have to defend myself I'll be able to no problem". I smiled. "Let's get going then". He got up right away and headed out the door. I couldn't help but smile.

Shouting could be heard from outside the house as we approached. I looked at Shisui to see if he was scared but he wasn't. I figured things would escalate quickly considering his temper. There's no telling how long he's been at her.

I quickly pushed Shisui behind me as I kicked in the door. Dakota was in the corner shaking as her boyfriend towered over her getting ready to hit her. I immediately tackled him to the ground and fought against him as he tried to overpower me. I quickly managed to get handcuffs on him and was about to go tend to Dakota but saw that Shisui had beaten me to it.

"It's ok ma'am your safe now. He can't hurt you anymore". She hugged him tight while crying. "Thank you. Thank you so much". She was talking to me. I kneeled beside her placing a comforting hand on her back.

"My offer to help you still stands. I have a house and job ready for you if you want it". She nodded her head.

End of dream

He was so young. Everywhere I went he wanted to follow. I never had a problem with it. I loved having him around. He made going to work more fun than it already was. I was thrilled when he told me and Hashi he wanted to join the force after graduating from the academy.

I just wish I had been able to protect you better. There's no telling what kind of hell you must be enduring right now. I don't care how long it takes, I swear I'll find you and bring you back home where you belong.

"Dad". Obito called out after knocking. "Angela's in the interrogation room waiting for you. She's the one that injured Kazumi". "I'll be right there".

I wasted no time. I kamuied straight to the interrogation room and kicked her. "Are you completely insane"!? She glared at me. I made my way over to her, grabbed her by her throat, and threw her into the nearest wall.

"Where is he!? Where's my son"!? She looked up at me and smirked. "He's probably dead by now". I grabbed her and slammed her head into the wall. "You're going to tell me where he is now or else"! "Or else what? You'll kill me"? Blood started to stain her lips and leak from her forehead as she spoke in a strained voice with the same smile as before.

"Don't push me". I said through gritted teeth. "You and Hashirama must feel like utter pieces of shit. How does it feel not being able to protect your child? A child you calm to love. He called out for you you know. He called out for you both but you never came. You abandoned him just like his birth parents did".

I kneed her hard in the stomach this time. Blood spat out of her mouth and landed onto me as I continued to beat her to a pulp. Over and over my fits and legs collided with her body. I could feel her bones breaking under the force of my power each hit carried but was stopped.

It was Izuna. He held my fist in his hand as he placed a gentle hand on the arm that was holding her up. "You can stop now. You've made your point". He said calmly "You out of all people should know how I feel". "I do. I felt the same way you do right now when Sayumi was taken from Tobirama and I but what I need from you right now is to remember what you said to me once we found her kidnappers".

I lowered my head allowing my bangs to hide my face. "He's no use to us dead. There are other ways of finding out the truth. You've gotten your revenge". "Exactly". He lowered my fist and gently pulled me away from her.

"Kazumi is awake. We can ask him what he knows then revisit the option of talking to her later. You must know there's a chance she's lying to you". "I know". He held me and I cried on his shoulder.
