The sun is setting.
In the woods there was a cotage.
And in the cotage's living room there lived, a family. The mother is laughing happily seeing her two sons' fool around dancing while the father was laughing along as he was playing the flute, and the family wolf howling beside him-yes they have a wolf and he's sweet and cuddly.

Everything was loud, but the joy of the family deafened it they were so happy.

They didn't know what was to come...

(9yrs old)Keith's Pov

"Hahahha-pffft ahahaha." Me and my big brother laughed while our arms are hooked together spinning.

I was grinning so wide my cheek hurts! But being this happy with my family I wont waste every second of it.

"Okay, okay you two dinner is ready, and wash your hands okay." She said stern but the happy aura still with her.

"Yes, mother." Shiro said sighing then pouted knowing the fun was over, I did the same while crossing my arms. As we finished washing our hands after splashing each other a bit, then raced to the dinning area we ate quietly.

Small time skip by our smol green paladin~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"Okay you two, change into your pajamas and go to bed." Mom said washing the dishes happily, but I can tell she's exhausted, she just doesn't show it too much.

"Yes mom." I said yawning then rubbed my left eye, Shiro and I changed in our white pajamas, then went to bed.

(A/n: the pic from above is there house but imagine it less modern p.s. I didn't find anything that qualifies to be their cottage so I think this one is cute =3=)

"Want me to tuck you in?" Mom said entering the room carrying an oil lamp beside her.

"Hm, yeah." Shiro said sleepyly yawning and I hummed in response, mom smiled at us warmly, but I can see the sadness in her eyes'-hm wonder what's wrong?. . Nah I'm just tired thats all.

"Okay, sleep well then." She said then tucked us in and gave us a kiss on the forehead and cheeks. Still sleepy I smiled my eyes closed, the candles were put off and after mom left the room I heared a soft mumble.

"Don't worry, you two will be safe." Then the door shut...

Tex's Pov

"I need to go faster! I need to warn Krolia and protect the boys' they're coming!!!"

"Hya!" I said as I was riding my horse and I reached the house and hurried inside slamming the door open as I saw my wife on the rocking chair then looked at me worried.

I looked at her then nodded still panting, and as if she read my mind she quickly stood infront of me sobbing. I hugged her in my chest and she kept sobbing.

(11yrs old)Shiro's Pov

I woke up hearing soft sobs down stairs (since our room is near the stairs) so I tiptoed beside the door and looked through the small opening and saw.

"Mom?" I questioned myself whispering and continue to eavesdrop. What? I didn't intend to do it, I don't know what to do since I'm awake-

"What are we supposed to do Tex I-I don't want them hurt because of me." That's moms voice! I've never heard her this afraid before she's always tough.

"Don't worry I'll take them far away safe from here." Dad's voice said. What? Are they taking us away!? As I heard that I ran toward my bed and lied down, and dad got inside our room waking us up.

"Get up you two, and get changed! Don't question and hurry up." We did as our dad said and quickly changed into our clothes. Mine is a white cotton long sleeved polo with black suspenders  polo pants and a long black coat. Keith has a just above the knees jumper and a white short sleeved shirt with his black red winter boots and a long navy blue coat. As we got outside the room our mother greeted us with a bear hug and gave us a kiss on the head and whispered something we didn't quite understand, but said something that I do understand.

"-may this seal of protection last as my love for them will." Mother said as I looked at her smile. She smiled back at me and kissed me on the cheeks and hugged me again and then gave something to Keith. A necklace.

Keith's Pov

Mom gave me a necklace its a small silver knife with a symbol on it. I looked at it in awe as mother smiled at my reaction ang puts it on me.

"You will use this someday to protect yourself and your big brother okay." She smiled warmly, and I quickly hugged her tight never wanting to let go, so I just cried bawling my eyes off.

Author's Pov
(Sorry I'm more comfortable this way ^-^")

"Please mom don't-don't leave us! I-i love you!" Keith said hugging his mother, then Shiro came hugging to his mother saying the same thing as Keith crying his eyes out, but knowing that he's the oldest of the sibling he must act like one ,but he loves his parents so much. What is he to blame it hurts so much to leave someone he loves dearly let alone his parents. Krolia lets go both of the two turning behind trying not to show any sign of weakness to both of her sons.

"Tex please take them to somewhere safe-please." Krolia said to her husband clutching his shirt, as he did so and took the two crying boys.

A few more minutes of crying both of them stopped, only Keith still sobbing. Their deep enough to the woods and stopped.
"Stay here and don't leave you understand." Their father said to his sons as he hugged them both saying a love goodbye.

"Dad!"
"Father, please don't leave us!" The two boys cried out as their father disappeared out of the dark woods.

Hours have passed as they both waited for their father to come back, but he never came.

Keith's Pov

"Can you smell that?" Shiro asked as he got up and walk toward where the smell came from, I quickly followed him not wanting to be left into the woods. I sniffed around the air and walked toward to where I think its from. Not long after we found a ginger bread house. Wait that doesn't seem right how is there a ginger bread house in the middle of the woods? Me and Shiro looked at each other giving a 'what the hell' look then looked at the house again and walked towards it carefully. We maybe young, but we're still cautious and we're not that naive, its not everyday you see a ginger bread house in the middle of the woods before plus mom taught us how to survive in the woods and dad told us how to hunt, so we're sticking to those lessons.

We're now on the front door knocking calling out to someone if their home. No one responded.

*Crunch*

I snapped my head seeing Shiro eat the door mouth full. I glared at him.

"Fwat? I'mf hunwry." He said still eating, I did the same but only took a bite. Then the door creaked open . . .

1228 words and a cliffhanger sorry but I need to sleep 'cuz tomorrow is a monday and my first period is math 6 in the morning =_=#
