((I thought this idea would go along great with them so..))

Simon runs around the forest, rifle in his hands and a green backpack with water, food, and a teddy bear in it, it used to be his brother's, before he died of the disease. It was that, then this, those things did this to them, took everything from them, first their electricity and running water, then made a disease that wiped out just about everyone, including his younger brother and parents, now this, now those things, The Others, that's what Simon calls them, have controlled some humans, planning on killing off the survivors. Simon makes it to a highway, the cars seeming to be stuck in time, if time was stuck in a car crash. Simon walks around it, seeing two dead bodies with bullet wounds on their back. Simon would puke, but he has seen so many of things like this, he was practically immune to it. Then he sees something that makes him worry, a cigarette bud, with smoke still coming out of the end. He steps on it, putting it out and looks around, that's when it happens, he gets shot it the leg, he yells out in pain and falls onto the ground, crawling under a truck as they shoot again at him, missing that time. He curses under his breath, the pain in his leg being unbearable. Slowly, he grabs the pistol from his pocket and crawls out from under the car, limping away as he shoots behind him, then falling onto the ground in pain, whimpering. Soon, he passes out from blood lost. When he wakes up again, he's in a bed, he looks around before groaning at the pain in his leg, where is he? He looks around and sees his backpack and bites his lip, he needs to get to it. He needs his gun, he slowly gets up and quickly falls into the ground, howling a bit in pain, he grabs his backpack as he hears footprints come up the stairs, he makes it back into the bed and hides the bag under the pillow, he sees red seeping through the blankets near his wound but ignores it as he acts like he's asleep as soon as the door opens.
