Before discussing this ship, I have to fawn over it's anime. Madoka Magica, I am officially adding it to the list of shows that broke me. Adding to a tally of four. Also, I spoil a lot for this one.

Now, this ship is actually a major function of the series as it builds character development for Sakaya. Essentially, she sold her soul so this oblivious guy could use his hands again. Emphasis on oblivious. She was so dreamily devoted to him that this next part hurts. Just after Kyosuke comes back to school, Sakaya's best friend tells her she intends to ask him out and that Sakaya has one day to confess to him. Talk about a tank hit, huh? It gets even heavier when she discovers her soul is no longer in her body. Translation: she is a Lich. This means she can't ever be held by him. To do so would be necrophilia. So she is forced to watch her friend take away her crush.

This ship is so appealing to me because it was based off of the little mermaid. Girl saves a guy's life. Girl sells soul to be with him. Guy falls in love with someone else. Girl falls to despair. Classic.

It's adorable and should've been given life!
