So there I was, raging at the death of Adam Taurus, when suddenly I stopped caring. But wait, there's more! After I stopped caring, I had a sudden urge to read alternative route fanfics. One such fanfic put Adam in the place of Blake and BOOM... I now ship Frostbite.

Frostbite is the pairing of Weiss Schnee and Adam Taurus. Of course, anyone who watched the show has the immediate response of "But they would kill each other", and they'd be right. What they don't consider is that it is that exact reason that the ship works. Let me explain.

Adam and Weiss are effectively two sides of the same coin. They're both talented, high ranking individuals who have strong convictions and little tolerance for stupidity and disrespect. They have a strong will, taking each slight against them with enmity. Despite their harshness, they do care about their allies. Furthermore, they despise Jacque Schnee. Notice that, while on opposite sides, many of their personal traits can be placed on the other. The adamant spite for each other's side could easily morph into a close friendship if you place them on the same team. Put them on the same side, and their prideful convictions will do the rest.

Of course, I should note that said traits only truly apply to them pre volume four, but I digress.

I think the fanfic that really pulled me into it was Red Sun Over Beacon. It excellently explores how Adam would interact with the rest of the cast and Weiss especially. Work your way up to chapter seventeen and if you still don't ship it, you will have officially earned a cookie.
