IMPORTANT - THIS HAPPENS BEFORE PART 1 (so basically how/why Felix ended up there)

.

.

.

The one who found him was, surprisingly, Jeongin.

"Hyung! I think I've met an angel at the supermarket today!"

Changbin and Hyunjin had both scoffed at the ludicrous idea, Seungmin had rolled his eyes at his dramatics, Minho had quirked an eyebrow in a display of mild curiosity, Jisung had briefly looked up from his game before reporting his attention on it, and Chan had simply smiled.

"Have you, now?"

"Here, look!"

Groceries abandoned and forgotten in the entrance, shoes haphazardly kicked off on the way, Jeongin quickly marched up to the small kitchen table where their oldest had settled down to get some work done before dinner. Pulling out his phone, he was quick to open Instagram, almost instantly finding the profile he was looking for.

He shoved the device in Chan's face with a triumphant look, and it took the man a few seconds for his eyes to focus on the picture now on full-screen before him.

"Oh."

That simple word was enough to gain everyone else's attention again - this time curiosity winning out. His simple reaction had been breathless, and Chan was now openly gawking at the picture. At once, Minho, Hyunjin, and Jisung scrambled out of their respective seats to take a look, with Changbin and Seungmin following closely behind.

"Holy moly," breathed out Jisung, eyes wide.

"Is he- is he even real?" choked out Hyunjin.

"I think I'm in love," stated plainly Minho.

"An angel... an actual angel..." murmured Changbin.

Seungmin made a strangled noise. "He has freckles...!"

"See? I told you guys," replied smugly Jeongin.

.

"His name is Lee Felix. He's twenty-one, moved from Australia to pursue a major in dancing. He has two younger siblings - sisters - and his blood type is AB."

"Wow. Seungmin-hyung's stalker tendencies strike again, uh?" snorted Jeongin, shaking his head.

"To be fair, you can find all of that information on his different social media accounts," shrugged the older boy, unperturbed. So what if he had been digging into said accounts for hours now? He was curious, sue him. "And now, thanks to me, we also know that he'll be going to the same school as us, and that he just moved into the apartment block in front of ours. You're welcome."

"He's not very careful with his personal information," stated Minho with a small frown, settling down at the table with a warm cup of coffee as he stared at a picture on his phone. "I can see his school schedule in the background - he has dance class with Hyunjin, and he shares most of his other classes with either Jisung or Seungmin."

"We're only one day apart in birthdays! It's Fate, I'm telling you!" beamed Jisung, scrolling through Felix's Facebook page. "We're practically twins already. Soulmates!"

"Aren't you guys getting a little hyped up for nothing?" protested tiredly Changbin, rubbing his eyes. "Sure, he's cute, but for all you know he's a jerk. I mean, who has that many social media accounts?"

"One of two people," answered simply Hyunjin, checking out some more pictures of their newly-found angel. "Either people who are arrogant and vain enough to demand strangers' approbation, or people who are so insecure they can't live without being constantly acknowledged by others."

"Considering the glimpses of personality we get through his Pinterest and Tumblr accounts, it's probably the latter," mused Jisung. "He's got some pretty damn funny memes, not going to lie. Truly, a man after my heart!"

"Changbin's right," then piped in Chan, both amused and disapproving at the same time. "Appearances aside, don't get your hopes up. I mean, someone with that kind of smile has to be hiding something. There's no way anyone can be that genuinely happy."

.

"Oh, hi! You're the boy from the supermarket, Jeongin-ah, right? It's really nice to see you again!"

"Hi, Felix-hyung! It's great to see you again too!"

As the two boys started animatedly chatting about the school - with Jeongin promptly volunteering to give him a tour sometime during the day - the rest of the boys could only stand back and watch, eyes wide and mouths gaping.

Apparently, Chan was wrong: someone could be that genuinely happy.

Lee Felix was even more beautiful in person, but that was probably because the kindness and happiness practically radiating from him couldn't be fully exposed in a mere picture. His entire face lit up the moment he saw Jeongin, and his heartfelt smile accentuated the splatters of freckles on his cheeks.

He looked like the personification of the sun itself, and Chan had never been happier to be proven wrong.

"Oh, these are my friends!" then introduced Jeongin, pulling Felix toward the group. The boy simply let him, obviously curious. "Everyone, this is Felix-hyung!"

And then Felix graced them with a direct smile, and Chan understood then and there that they were all doomed.

.

Felix was a literal ball of sunshine and, in a matter of days, he had successfully wormed his way into the heart of every single one of the boys. He was sweet and caring, always willing to either help or simply lend an ear, and he had an unending amount of cheerfulness to share and spread.

What really struck them, however, was how innocent Felix was. He trusted easily, and was quick to be tricked or fooled. He hung to their every word and while he was far from stupid, he was most definitely naïve. It didn't take long for them to realize that, somehow, the world had yet to taint his beautiful soul in its darkness.

He was quick to forgive, quick to see the good in people - even when there wasn't any. He didn't want to upset anyone, always did his best to make everyone happy, and though they quickly found out about all of the little insecurities buried deep within him (he was a bad liar, and an even worst actor), he didn't let his issues hinder his view of the world.

He was bright. Pure. Good.

Too bright. Too pure. Too good.

Chan started dreading the day Felix's pink glasses would break, fearing his brightness would be ruthlessly suffocated once it happened, never to be found again - and he knew the others felt the same way, too.

It was scary, how quickly they came to care and worry for the boy. But the more time they spent with him, the more their desire to protect him grew.

They figured that if Felix was too innocent to see the bad in people, they'd take it into their own hands to protect him from it.

It started off simply, really. A few, vague warnings here and there, maybe a threat or two thrown at the most stubborn ones - but in a matter of half-a-month, no one outside of their group dared to approach Felix again.

The boy was hurt, of course, having made friends outside of their little group over time, but they were all quick to reassure him: no matter what, they wouldn't leave him.

Thanks to Seungmin and Jisung's efforts, Felix started deleting his social media accounts one after the other, slowly convincing him that he didn't need those silly things, that he didn't need people he didn't even know to acknowledge his existence when he had them by his side, and that if he truly needed validation from other people, then they would be happy to give it to him.

It had been Jeongin's idea - to build up his dependance of them under the guise of building up his self-esteem. Bless that psychology major.

It was Minho, however, who dared to speak up on a particular matter that everyone had thought of, but none had wanted to bring up just yet.

"He's going to get hurt. Will come a day when we won't be there for him, and what happens then? He'll be broken."

"So what do you want to do?" replied Chan, quirking a brow. "Lock him up?"

Minho's silence and pointed stare had been enough of an answer, and Chan hadn't dignified him with one. The others hadn't said anything about it, but they all knew deep down that Minho was right.

However, it was a crazy idea, right? Plus, it's not like Felix was going to leave them anytime soon.

A day they wouldn't be there for him? Preposterous. They would always be there.

Or at least, that's what they thought until Jisung came home one day, out of breath and on the verge of a panic attack.

"Felix- Felix is planning on going back to Australia...!"

"What!?"

They were only beginning the second semester, Felix still had another year to go afterward before earning his major, but he had shared with Jisung his goal of returning to Australia with his diploma and opening a dance school of his own.

"It's still quite a long time away," he had pointed out upon noticing Jisung's pained expression, trying to reassure him. "We still have a lot of time left together, right? And I'll definitely come back and visit!"

If they let him leave, then they wouldn't be able to be there for him. They wouldn't be able to protect him. They wouldn't be able to stop the world from smashing his purity to pieces. They wouldn't be able to fix the damage done, wouldn't be able to stop him from breaking apart, because Felix was too bright, too pure, too good—

No.

No, they couldn't let that happen.

That night, they had a very serious meeting between all seven of them. They were all of the same mind, but now came the matter of technicalities.

"We're all serious about this, aren't we?" asked simply Chan, stern. "Once we get started, there won't be any going back."

They all nodded at once, determined, and Chan nodded back, pulling out a notepad to take notes. They needed to organize this properly, and while it would be faster to type everything on his computer, it'd also be extremely difficult to entirely get rid of the evidence once they were done - a risk he wasn't willing to take.

At least with paper notes, he could burn them once done and not worry about any potential back-up.

"First, there's the matter of where," he started, writing the word down in bold letters. "Anyone has an idea?"

"I think I speak for everyone when I say that that old mansion you inherited would be the perfect location," pointed out Changbin, earning approving nods from the others. "It's in a rather secluded area, far enough from the city that it can't be reached by foot, and the closest neighbor lives over forty-five minutes away."

"The forest around provides good coverage, too," added Minho. "Anyone unfamiliar with the area wouldn't be able to pinpoint the exact location."

They were all avoiding to say why it mattered: because they knew Felix would fight them on this, they knew he would try to run away, they knew he would try to call for help if the opportunity arose. They knew he would be upset, that he would most assuredly hate them for a while - but they were willing to endure it all, if it meant keeping him safe.

"The mansion, then," nodded Chan, writing it down. "We'll have to properly lock all of the windows, ensure they're thick enough that they can't be broken easily. We'll also need locks on all of the doors."

"Keeping him inside won't be enough to make him cave in," pointed out Jisung, biting his nails worriedly. "Are we going to try and rely on Stockholm syndrome?"

"Partly," confirmed Jeongin, having already drawn a plan. "With a mix of electroshock therapy conducted by Chan-hyung, and a new drug Minho-hyung developed recently, and then a proper psychological follow-up to cement the effects that will be done by me, we'll be able to make his mind cave in and give up."

Hyunjin gulped. "You say that... you say that like we're going to break him."

"We are," confirmed simply Minho, patting his shoulder reassuringly. "But then we'll build him back up, with the pieces we need for him to listen to us and stay put."

"I know some people from whom we can get the necessary equipment," announced Changbin, exchanging a nod with Chan. "There's a basement, right? We can set everything up down there."

"We'll need to completely break his ties before taking him," remarked Seungmin. "If his parents notice he's gone, they'll make a fuss."

"Leave it to me," replied Jisung, gulping a bit. "He's already on thin ice with them because of his major - it'll be easy to push him into a falling out big enough that would justify completely cutting ties with them."

"We'll leave it to you, then. Since he doesn't have any other friends outside of us, the only other people who might notice his absence are the teachers," continued Chan. "But I'll take care of that part, forge a resignation letter or something."

"We'll need to pay off his rent and sell his apartment too," remarked Seungmin. "Make sure to empty his phone and then get rid of it so the location can't be traced. Erase the last of his social media accounts, too."

"Shop for clothes." Hyunjin clicked his tongue when they shot him confused looks. "He won't be able to go out on his own. We can move his stuff once he's settled, but he'll still need more."

And on and on it went, the fantasy slowly becoming reality as they started working through the details of such a delicate project, well aware of the wrongness of it all, but none of them bothered enough to care.

.

They worked in a record time, taking a little under three months to get everything ready. The mansion was renovated from top to bottom, Seungmin setting it up with the most recent technology and the best security system possible. Cameras were hidden in every room, electric locks were placed on every door, and absolutely no detail was overlooked.

It was a real prison with golden bars - Felix wouldn't escape any time soon.

Thanks to Jisung's hard work, Felix did end up having a falling out with his parents barely a month before they were ready. It was pretty bad, and Felix cried a lot, but every time he entertained the thought of calling back and apologizing, one of the boys was there to stop him and reanimate the flames of anger and pain in his bruised heart.

All of his social media accounts were officially deleted, the only contacts left in his phone were those of the group, and Chan had already sent in Felix's fake resignation that nullified his inscription to the incoming semester.

Seungmin had also somehow gotten a hold of his landlord, and had gone behind his back to terminate the contract and pay the due rent in full, assuring Felix would be moving out before the end of the week.

And Felix?

Bright, pure, innocent Felix. He was completely unaware of the monsters he had awoken, unaware of the hell awaiting him.

"Hey, Lix! Wanna come over to celebrate the end of term with us?" had suggested Jisung.

And Felix - bright, pure, easily fooled Felix - had agreed without a second thought.

When he finally stepped passed the threshold, he failed to notice the pointed, somewhat eager, mildly anticipating looks the others shared around him. Their masterplan had been in motion for a while, now, but it was now time to get to the main course.

And Felix - bright, pure, good Felix - never saw it coming.

.

"Hey, anyone wants some more pizza?"

"Me!"

"You already had five slices, Jisung!"

"So what? I'm a growing boy!"

"If anyone needs to grow still, it's Changbin."

"Yah! It's hyung to you, brat!"

It was the usual chaos Felix had grown accustomed to, but for once he wasn't entirely fond of it. A pounding headache had taken over his skull a little under an hour ago, and it hadn't lessened since—and the continued buzzing of noise and energy around him definitely wasn't helping.

He winced as his head throbbed again, feeling a little sick. He closed his eyes, rubbing his temples as he tried to take deep breaths. He felt a little sluggish, a bit heavy - he figured the exhaustion of the last semester was finally catching up to him.

"You good, Lix?"

He opened his eyes to find Minho staring down at him with palpable worry. He mustered up a small smile, which quickly shifted into a pained grimace.

"Headache," he groaned.

"Oh, poor baby." Minho was by his side in an instant, gently pulling him over so his head would lay on his shoulder while he started massaging his scalp. "Are you tired?"

"A- a little...? I- I don't know why it came over me so- so suddenly..."

The moment he laid against Minho, it felt as if all of his remaining strength had been sapped out, and his eyelids felt heavier than ever before. He wanted to close them, rest his eyes for a bit, and hopefully whatever strange bug he had caught would pass...

"It's okay, Lixie. Close your eyes," murmured soothingly Minho, still massaging his scalp. He felt his other hand gently stroke up his face, coming to cradle his cheek, and putting enough pressure to keep his face pressed into the crook of his neck. "Everything is going to be okay, I swear."

Wait, what? What is he talking about?

Felix's fog-filled mind was still sharp enough to pick up on the odd wording and the mild tenseness of the man holding him. He tried to sit up, and panic seized him when he realized that he couldn't move, for some reason. His limbs were too heavy, they didn't move when he told them to. His breath hitched as he struggled to open his eyes, his sight blurry and filled with moving shadows when he finally managed to.

He could still hear Minho's soothing voice, but he couldn't make out the words. He felt faint, any exterior noise echoing as if he was submerged under muddy water. He tried to lift his head, but the gentle pressure keeping it down grew stronger, the arm around his waist tightened its grip, and Felix's heart started hammering in his chest as his hazy mind finally caught on to the fact that something was wrong.

Before he could try and act on it, however, he felt another hand slide along his exposed neck—and suddenly, something cold pierced the soft skin. He let out a choked whimper, his senses dulled, but still there enough to register the pain.

Someone instantly shushed him, hands stroking his hair and his face and his hands as the pain receded, and warmth suddenly started spreading throughout his whole body.

It was comforting, inviting. He was already so tired, he didn't have the strength to fight off the gentle nudges of sleep. With one last stuttering breath, he stopped fighting it altogether and let himself slip into unconsciousness.

The moment Felix's body went limp, everyone let out the breath they hadn't even realized they had been holding. The pills Minho had crushed earlier in the night and mixed with Felix's drink had done their work, and the drug Chan had just injected him with would prolong its effects.

"So... We're really doing this, uh?" whispered Jisung, even though he knew Felix wouldn't wake up for hours now, no matter the exterior stimuli.

"We're really doing this," confirmed Chan, straightening up and tucking the syringe away, before turning to the boys with serious eyes. "Let's get moving. We only have a few hours before he wakes up."

That was enough to get them moving. All of the stuff they would immediately need had already been brought to the mansion, all they needed now was to bring Felix. Carefully slipping his jacket and his shoes on, Chan was then the one to carry him downstairs, what with being the strongest out of all of them.

Changbin had the car waiting, Seungmin had already handled the security cameras in the street, and the others were keeping lookout to ensure no one walked in on them - they wanted Felix to disappear without a trace.

It's only once safely in the car that Chan allowed himself to breathe a little easier - but they were far from done. The moment everyone was in the car and they got moving, Hyunjin and Jisung were quick to carefully tie the boy's wrists and ankles - a simple insurance in case Felix woke up earlier than expected. They were mindful not to make the bindings too tight, though, not wanting to chaff his delicate skin.

And then they got on the road, and there truly was no going back.

The ride was a peaceful affair, yet the tension was unmistakable. Felix's still body was resting in Hyunjin's arms, the taller boy startling every time Felix so much as stirred, obviously terrified at the thought of him waking up before they got to their destination. Thankfully, though, Chan and Minho had done a good job with the drug, and Felix stayed asleep for the entire ride.

Not a word was uttered when they finally reached the mansion, everyone moving with practiced ease - they all knew what they needed to do.

Chan picked Felix up again, instantly taking him up to the second floor, where the master bedroom was located. They had all instantly agreed on giving it to Felix, seeing as he was the one who would be spending the most time in the house, and they knew how much the boy would enjoy the large windows that made up the entire left wall of the room.

As soon as Chan laid him down on the bed, Jisung showed up with a pair of scissors to cut through the bindings. The younger let out a soft curse as the ropes fell, revealing the slightly chaffed skin of Felix's delicate wrists. It would seem that, despite their precautions, they had still made it too tight.

Having apparently expected such an outcome, Jeongin showed up with some cream to help soothe the rope burns. They were faint so, hopefully, they'd be gone by morning.

They didn't bother changing him. The las thing they wanted was for Felix to freak out right off the bat. They wanted him to at least eat something before starting the treatment, and they knew for a fact that he wouldn't eat anything if he understood the situation in its fullness.

Once everything urgent had been settled, and after making one last round of the house to ensure everything was in place, they decided to call it a night. They knew that tomorrow would be hard for everyone, so they needed to get their rest.

Jisung and Jeongin stayed behind, snuggling up with Felix, who didn't even stir as the warmth of two bodies blanketed him. Then, one by one, all of the others dropped by to bid them goodnight, before going to settle in their own rooms.

Yes, tomorrow would be a long day.
