Y/N POV:

I wake up to the sound of my alarm. I reach over to my nightstand and shut it off.

I get up and shower. When I finish, I brush my H/C H/L hair out and change into my uniform.

I put on my black chocker with a cresent moon on it and also put on my shoes.

I grab a bagel and grab my bag, walking to school.

My house was normally quiet since my parents worked a lot, not that they really cared about my existence.

I get to school and change my shoes like normal, walking to the occult club.

On my way, I bump into Musume and her flying monkey squad. "Watch it, loser!" Musume snaps.

I roll my eyes and keep walking.

They scoff and sashay off.

I get shoved by a few delinquents and a couple student council but otherwise people mostly just ignored me.

I was part of the occult club, so that didn't make me the most popular person and my social akwardness didn't exactly help my situation.

I liked demons and spooky things and I loved watching horror movies and all, but I was mostly in the club for my two best friends, Oka Ruto and Shin Higaku.

I had been really close with them since childhood and they introduced me to the other members who I had become pretty good friends with.

I walk up to the occult club, since today was my turn to polish the relics.

I finish as the other members walk in.

I say hi to them as they gave their usual shy, quiet hi's.

After a few minutes of talking, I say goodbye to all of them and they go to study the seven mystries of Akedemi High.

I walk outside and up to the tree on the hill, sitting down in the grass in the shade, pulling out my sketchbook.

I start sketching as Shoji appears, the demon I had found out about a little while ago.

"Hey, Y/N" I jump a little at the voice but relax when I realize it's just Shoji.

"Shoji, you scared me!" I jump and he laughs.

"Sorry, Y/N. And speaking of you, I think your arts really improving" Shoji complements.

"You really think so?" I ask as he nods, sitting cross legged in the air, looking over my shoulder at my drawing.

"Thanks, Shoji!" I say and he smiles.

Shoji says you're welcome and we talk for a little while until the bell eventually rings.

"I should probably go before I'm late. Bye, Shoji!" I pick up my sketchbook and stand up.

Shoji pouts. "Bye, Y/N" Shoji says before he disappeared.

I run down the hill and into the school.

I walk into my class and sit down, continuing to sketch.

A few minutes later, the teacher comes in and starts the lesson.

"Y/N! Pay attention!" The teacher snaps when she sees I'm drawing instead of paying attention.

"Sorry, Sensei" I apologise.

"Just pay attention." The teacher says and goes back to teaching.

A few kids look at me and whisper.

I hid behind my sketchbook and I look around to see that almost no one is paying attention, yet the teacher chooses to call me out. Ugh, just my luck.

*Small time skip*

Finally, the bell rings and everybody starts to get up and leave.

I pack up my sketchbook and leave.

I get my lunch and eat with the other occult club members.

After lunch, we all head to cleaning time.

After finishing that, I head to the club activity.

We attempt to summon a demon, and as usual, we fail.

It disappointed the other members, but they were used to it after many failed attempts.

Shin and I say goodbye to the other members and walk out.

Shin and I had a habit of walking home together, Oka would normally be with us but she was out of school for three weeks because of a personal matter, or so she claimed.

She didn't even tell Shin and I what it was about, even tho we all aggred we wouldn't have any secrets, but I guess she has the rights to her privacy.

Shin and I stop in front of my house.

"Well, I'll uh, call you later?" Shin says, rubbing his arm nervously.

"Yeah" I say and widen my eyes as Shin leaps forward and hugs me.

He seems to have realized what he just did because he pulls back suddenly.

"I-I'm s-sorry. I'll s-see you later, Y-Y/N" Shin says and starts walking away.

"Bye, Shin" I say, playing with my hair and blushing.

Dial it back, Y/N. I scold myself.

Shin waves slightly and walks away, scolding himself under his breath.

I wave back and giggle. Shin gets out of sight and I unlock my front door, walking inside.

Shoji makes himself visible, floating beside me as I put my bag down and take my shoes off.

I change out of my uniform and see what food I have.

"So, you guys had another failed attempt to summon a demon again, I don't know why you guys bother trying if you're just going to fail" Shoji says teasingly.

"We wouldn't fail if you would just let me tell them about you." I point out.

"I just.... don't want a bunch of attention brought about me." Shoji says.

"Why won't you let me tell them? They're demons hunters and love mystries" I say.

"Why won't you confess to that boy you like?" Shoji turns the questioning on me.

"Touché." I say, slightly blushing.

Shoji nods. "Mhm."

I was confused, but didn't wanna push Shoji. He was the only person, well demon, besides my friends in the occult club that actually cared about my existence.

"I'm hungry, you want something to eat?" I ask Shoji, taking Ramen out of my pantry.

"Demons don't real!y need to eat" He says, still floating in the air.

"That's unfortunate." I say, fixing my Ramen and putting it in the microwave.

"Mhm" Shoji says.

After my Ramen finishes, I stir it and put it in a a bowl, turning on my favorite horror anime.

I suddenly got an idea that maybe I should invite Oka and Shin over this weekend for a horror movie marathon like we used to do when we were kids.

"You sure that's a good idea?" Shoji asks me as if he read my mind.

"Why wouldn't it be? I haven't seen Oka in three weeks, and it's been forever since we've all hung out together."

"I just... don't want them to catch me." Shoji says while biting his lip.

"I'm sure nothing will happen, Shoji." I reassure him.

I try to put my hand on his shoulder but it goes through him, making me fall over.

Shoji tilts his head and laughs. "You forgot humans can't touch us."

"Yeah, yeah. I got that." I say, getting up.

I eat my Ramen and put my dishes away, calling Oka and Shin.

Hey, guys!

Hey, Y/N!  What's up?

H-Hi, Y-Y/N...

Wellll, I was wondering if you guys wanna come over this weekend and have a movie marathon like when we were kids.

I-It's -okay with me, Oka?

I don't know, Y/N. You sure? I might be busy.

Please, it's been ages since we all hung out together..

Fineee. I guess. Since it has been ages since we hung out together .

Yay! I'll get the movies and see you guys at noon on Saturday?

Okay.

Shin, I'll see you tomorrow at school. Oka, talk to you later. Love you guys, bye!

Bye. Love you  too!

*Mutters* more then you know...

*Whispers* Tell her.

No.

Tell me what?

Nothing. Bye. See you at school! *Hangs up*

I put my phone away, confused.

"Is that how you humans normally talk to one another?" Shoji asks.

I jump slightly. "Shoji! I forgot you were there!"

Shoji frowns a lot. "You forgot in a few seconds of talking to your friends on that.....whatever it is"

"Don't judge me. And it's called a cellphone."

"Fascinating." Shoji says with a hand on his chin and I laugh.

I pick up my books. "I don't suppose demons know algebra?"

"Ale....bra?" Shoji says, confused as if I was speaking a different language.

*Time skip*

"So, they combined this math with letters, even though they're two completely  different subjects? That's ridiculous!"

"That's what I said! Up top!" I go to high five him and fall through him into the floor again.

"Still can't touch me~" Shoji points out the obvious.

"I got that!" I say standing up and brushing myself off.

I study for a while until I fall asleep, laying on my notebook.

Shoji POV: (Wasn't expecting that, were you?)

"Y/N?" I ask and she doesn't answer, snoring softly.

I smile as I try to pick her up but forget she can go right through me and I almost drop her before I catch her with my powers in the air.

I breathe a sigh of relief and use my powers to move her on the bed.

I move the blanket on top of her and she smiles in her sleep.

I smile as I hear my name.

"Shadow demon! What do you think you're doing?" Booms a familiar voice.

(A/N: any bets on who it is?)

I roll my eyes and cover Y/N up, then teleport to the demon realm.

"Calm down, flamey, I know what I'm doing."

"Don't call me that! And I don't think you do, Shadow." The flame demon says.

"My name is Shoji, flamey." I say with sass.

"We don't use human names in this realm, Shadow. And you know the  rules, you can't fall for a human. I realize that you're new around here, but we do still have boundaries around here, Shadow," Flame says.

"Mhm, Mhm. Just another little problem, I don't care. I promised her mother I would protect her." I say defensively.

"You're not supposed to communicate with humans! Shadow, do you think this is all some kind of joke?!" Flame demon yells, his flames increasing.

"Actually, I kinda do" I laugh.

His flames spark even more.

"Fine. Don't get ur sparks in a twist, wouldn't wanna burn the place down." I say tauntingly.

The other demons snicker and I laugh.

"Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna get back to Y/N." I say and teleport back.

Y/N shivers so I put another blanket over her.

As a demon, I didn't fully understand humans or love but I felt something special for Y/N ever since I met her.

I promised I would protect Y/N, no matter the costs.

I'm a pretty chill guy for a demon, but I would kill anyone for Y/N in a heartbeat.

I'm not afraid to get blood on my hands for her. Well, you know what I mean.

Y/N was still asleep and I didn't really need to sleep, so I look around to see what I could do.

I float over to the desk Y/N was working at and noticed she didn't finish the thing she called "homework"

It seemed simple enough after Y/N explained it. She and her angel voice and features could make a funeral sound interesting.

I levitate the pencil and finish her homework, ending with a dramatic swoosh of the pencil, dropping it on the book.

Y/N yawns.

"Aww, she's adorable." I whisper.

She falls back asleep and I close my eyes, falling asleep as well. I can see why humans do this so much, it's relaxing.

I close my eyes, letting my mind wonder.
