SOUL OF THE 90'S
It's amazing how talk of the 90's still trends today. It was like humans put in the best of everything they could in the 90's.
From loving TV shows that every age could watch to awesome advancements im technology, the 90's was truly a growth spurt age for humans.
It was a time when anyone could be themselves without altering anything for anyone's sake but theirs.
You could just close your eyes and picture it. Especially if you were actually born in the 90's. If you weren't there are many sitcoms and movies made in that age which still trend.
At the time, everyone held unto a word so well and that word was 'Soul'.
By soul we're not referring to third portion that creates the totality of a human being. Nor do we refer to the well known soul train.
speak of the passion and drive humans had for everything they believed in.
They carried their beliefs in their hearts like it was their life source and it was. Whenever they had to speak, you would see them in their masses for a protest.
The hippies were proud to be hippies, believing in peace, unity and diversity of all kinds. The goths and punk lovers embraced their love for hardcore grunge music. Almost every kid, nerd or not had at least a drum somewhere in their garage.
The soul of the 90's did not hold unto beliefs only but they accepted happiness. Some of the best sitcoms ever released were produced in the 90's.
To be honest, a perfect TV show did not have to warn parents on 'nudity or strong language' before it started. The whole family could just gather round the TV set with the huge back and enjoy a nice family show.
We still can on networks like ABC, but ask yourself when was the last time you downloaded a TV series that was so normal your four or five year old sibling or kid could watch it with you.
The soul of the 90's, cherished true friendship. If you asked your older brothers, sisters or parents about their time in high school, you'd never hear them have a laugh of their past without mentioning 'the gang and I'.
Some of them, still hang out with their friends. There was something about friendship that seemed even stronger than family blood back then.
The 90's soul thought music alive. Music was everything to the 90's kids or teens.
Artists expressed themselves with songs. A lot would shed tears during their concerts. Every music had a reason to be written. If it did not, then it was meant for fun and it always fulfilled it purpose.
We had West life, Maria Carey, Celine Dion, Spice girls, Michael Jackson, Elton John, Aaliyah, Whitney Houston, Sinnead O' Connor and many others preach the truths of love, unity, fun, family and all the perks of life in deep thoughts, messaged by their beautiful voices.
You did not have to be the best dancer in the world to move your feet. When the music came on, so did every one and their groove with songs like—Saturday night, The Macarena, Cotton Eye Joe, Tragedy and more.
The major fact and conclusion is this ; The 90's soul had love.
It was more than just a word and meant everything. It was a respected fact that people knew well and held unto.
Love was spoken of in words, by bonds, in books and in the daily lives of the 90's kids.
Music, movies, picnics, parties all spoke love.
Its quite a confusing fact that though this generation speaks louder than any, it seemed void of a lot.
This generation can get better and will get better if we all did one thing—take those masks off.
This generation seems to be full of people who are afraid of getting hurt or mocked. For this reason everyone wears mask of who they are not or who they wish to be.
More teenagers get depressed easily and often wish to switch even their families if given the opportunity.
If every human in this generation could take of their masks and stop the lies, bit by bit we will learn to love without doubts, compromises or struggles.
The 90's soul knew how to love every moment of life.
There was no social media to tell one if they were deserving of likes and followers or not.
No.
The 90's soul just walked by the parks and salons knowing they were loved by family and friends. If not, they were loved by themselves.
And that in it's unique way was always more than enough.
Being alive is an opportunity and a chance to be better than yesterday. Breathing is a gift. Life if we accept its peace,is a blessing.
The 90's soul knew this —Everything has a soul.
We should learn to cherish that.
Was the 90's the perfect year?
No it wasn't.
Humans have never really seen a perfect year.
People keep changing, animals keep getting extinct, mother earth keeps tumbling in earthquakes and flood like she's humpty.
So many things might make you go to bed frustrated at yourself and the world.
It makes you go to bed at night with a deep sigh and wish to dream deeply.
But the Shimmer Community will like to let you know that still it's a wonderful world and everything will be fine.
The current pandemic of 2020, has got everyone wandering if earth will be fine.
Well she will be but to be honest, she might give humans some more trouble but in all this, learn to wake up, love yourself, live the best of everyday and understand that despite the flaws so many, we are still beautiful people and this is a wonderful world.
Here's a short video we found to make you see the joy of being alive.
You are who you are for the sake of man without voices. Be the best of you. Accept yourself and understand that everyday in this wonderful world through tears and laughter is a blessing.
Shimmer on daily and best, knowing the best is you.
