Everyone was frozen in shock for a few long moments, staring at the dead body in front of them.

Jungkook couldn't tear his eyes away, no matter how much he wanted to.

It was like a car crash; it was horrible and he felt like he needed to snap into action, but he had never seen a corpse before and he couldn't look away.

Finally, Namjoon was the one to respond first.

"It's Haley." He whispered, eyes wide.

The girl from the restaurant, the kind server who couldn't have been older than fifteen.

"Oh my God." Seokjin tried to scramble to his feet, but he was uncoordinated and fell back again.

He quickly crawled to the nearest bed of flowers, trying not to throw up.

Namjoon suddenly pushed Jungkook back, snapping him out of his staring.

"We need to call my dad." He said with authority. "We need to...we can't touch anything."

He placed his hands on Jungkook's shoulders, taking up the boys whole vision, purposely blocking the horrible scene from Jungkook's eyes.

"Don't look. You'll get nightmares."

Jungkook just stared, the imagine of her bloated body already burned into his mind.

"Seokjin!" Namjoon called, not taking his eyes off of Jungkook. "Get Yi-dae!"

Seokjin shuddered, wiping his mouth as he got to his feet, swaying slightly. He quickly raced off, not sparing a look behind him.

"She...she was just there...just yesterday." Jungkook whispered. "She was fine yesterday..."

Namjoon turned him around, forcefully and but gently walking Jungkook down the trail, around a bend where he wouldn't be able to see the body anymore.

"I know, it's okay." The older boy rambled, his grip shaking. "We'll call my dad, he'll help. He'll fix this."

He sat Jungkook down on a bench and plucked a large hydrangea flower, giving it to him.

"Can you do something very important for me, Jungkook?" Namjoon bent down in front of him. "I need you to count all the little petals on this pretty flower. Can you do that, Koo?"

Jungkook nodded slowly, mind reeling. He wasn't sure why this was important but if it would help Namjoon then he would do it.

He glanced down, seeing there were so many of the tiny blooms and he got to work.

One, two three, her body, six, seven, covered in dirt and bloated from the water, ten-

"Focus on the flower only." Namjoon encouraged softly. "Just the pretty yellow flower. Nothing else."

Jungkook restarted, shoving all other images out of his mind.

Namjoon watched him for a few moments, before standing up and hurrying back to the scene.

He didn't know what to do, he was so panicked and shocked and terrified and felt like he was going to throw up too.

He stopped beside the puddle of soil, his shoes barely getting wet. Sinking to his knees, he could only stare.

He knew he shouldn't interfere with the crime scene, but he had known Haley since she was five years old. Had played games with her when he babysat, had been at all her birthday parties. He knew she always had a crush on him, one he couldn't return since he was eleven years older, and gay.

But now she was laying dead on the floor, surrounded by dirt. Her clothes and hair were soaked, her skin a light blue tinge.

"Hales..." He reached out, gently pushing her hair back, exposing her too white neck.

There were deep red marks around the skin of her neck and Namjoon frowned.

"Namjoon!"

He yanked his hand back, quickly getting to his feet.

Seokjin raced over, Yi-dae right behind him.

"Your dads on his way." The boy was slightly breathless from running in the muggy greenhouse.

"Is everyone alright?" Yi-dae asked, checking Namjoon over for injuries.

"Y-yeah, just a little shaken up is all." Namjoon said.

Seokjin shuddered, trying not to look at the body. "Where's Jungkook?"

"Around the bend. I didn't want him to see. You should take him to the clinic, he might be in shock." Namjoon said. "I'll wait here for my dad."

Seokjin nodded, eager to get away.

He hurried around the corner, seeing the youngest boy sitting a bench, intently counting the petals on a large flower.

"Jungkook," he slowed down. "Come on, we're getting out of here."

Jungkook held the flower up to him. "I lost count after one hundred and sixty three."

Seokjin blinked, slowly accepting the flower. "That's...it's okay."

He helped Jungkook up, guiding him quickly out of the gardens.

They didn't say anything as Seokjin led him to a little building, the clinic.

It was small, just like all the other buildings on the island, with a short desk in the front for reception, and a three chair waiting area.

It was empty right now.

The woman behind the computer looked up. "Did you have an appointment?"

"No, but Jungkook might be in shock. Namjoon wanted him to get checked out." Seokjin explained, his hand resting on the boys back to comfort him.

She jumped up. "What was there to see on our little island that was so shocking?" She hurried around the counter. "Well, if Namjoon said it, it must be important."

She kindly took Jungkook's hand. "Come here sweetie, I'm Junha."

Seokjin watched as she led Jungkook to a back room, and then he was alone in the waiting room, trying not to think about how Haley's lifeless body had been buried in that pot.

-

"Dad!" Namjoon exclaimed, stumbling a little after he was pushed out of the garden.

"I don't want you to see this. Go home and lock the doors." Chief Kim ordered.

"I've already seen it!" Namjoon tried to get back in but the two strong security guards who were always around his dad blocked his way.

"We'll handle it, it's not safe for you." The chief stood firm. "Go home and stay there until I get back."

"But-"

"Go, Namjoon. Rex, please escort him back."

Namjoon huffed, turning and storming back down the pathway.

The large bodyguard followed just behind him, as if making sure Namjoon wasn't heading anywhere but back home.

Namjoon sighed. "Can I at least stop at the clinic? My friend is there, he saw the body too."

"You should listen to your father. I'll bring your friend to your house."

"He was in shock earlier, I think it would be better if he saw me instead." Namjoon reasoned.

Rex debated, then nodded. "Then back to your house."

"Sure, fine, whatever."

Namjoon hurried to the clinic, Rex right behind him.

"Namjoon!" Seokjin jumped up from his chair.

"Where's Jungkook?"

"He's in the room now."

Namjoon nodded. "Good, I think he just-"

"You should be getting home now." Rex placed his hand on Namjoon's shoulder.

Namjoon shook him off. "I haven't even seen him yet!"

"Seokjin can bring the boy to your house after he's checked out. Your dad says he wants you at home." Rex was firm.

Namjoon huffed in annoyance. "I don't care what he wants, he doesn't care what I want!"

"Hey, it's not worth a fight." Seokjin said gently. "I'll bring Jungkook over later, then we can talk."

Namjoon sighed deeply. "Okay, I guess you're right."

Rex grabbed the boys arm, ushering him back to the door and Namjoon yanked it free, storming out himself.

Seokjin frowned as he watched them go.

He felt bad for his friend, but there was nothing he could do.

So he sat back down and waited for Jungkook to be okay.

He couldn't help but think, was this a one time incident or was there a murderer loose on Shima Island?
