"So, what are the gardens?" Jungkook asked, following the two islanders. "I mean, besides the obvious."

"Oh, you're going to love them, Kook!" Namjoon beamed. "It's a preservation of the beautiful and unique flora that grows on the island!"

"Namjoon started this place." Seokjin boasted as they walked up a stone path, surrounded by tall bushes that had little yellow flowers growing on them. "Now we get free entry any time we come."

Namjoon blushed. "I just wanted to make sure the rare species here got a good chance to grow, since we needed to use all the available space for building and farming."

"Good morning, Mr. Kim." The man standing at the entrance bowed.

"Yi-dae, you know you can just call me Namjoon." Namjoon hastily made him straighten up.

"Of course, Mr. Kim. Is this new boy a friend of yours?" Yi-dae looked at Jungkook, who waved.

"Yeah, this is Jungkook, Dal's nephew. He's visiting from the mainland this summer." Namjoon explained.

Yi-dae smiled at him. "Well any friend of Mr. Kim is a friend of the gardens. Come right in." He opened the doors and they all thanked him as they stepped inside.

"Whoa..." Jungkook's eyes went wide as he tried to look at everything at once.

It was a large dome, made of glass, and surrounded by tall trees, drooping vines, and yellow paths weaved around yards and yards of flowers, most of which Jungkook had never seen before.

Namjoon took the place in, pleased to see everything had still bloomed well while he was away. "Most of these don't grow anywhere back on the mainland, so it's important for us all to preserve them here."

Seokjin crouched down to gently hold a large white flower at the center of the dome. "This one is RJ."

Namjoon pointed to the blue one beside it. "This is Koya, my personal favorite."

"They're pretty." Jungkook inspected them. "What are they called?"

"Their scientific name is Bangeranium21, but Seokjin and I call them RJ and Koya." Namjoon explained.

Jungkook noticed a smaller pink one forming behind the white and blue flower. "What about this one?"

Namjoon leaned in close to see and Jungkook's cheeks turned as pink as the flower.

"Hm, this one must have grown while I was away." He faced Jungkook with a smile. "Why don't you name it, Kook?"

"M-me?" Jungkook was shocked. "But this is your special place, these flowers mean a lot to you, you should name it!"

Seokjin chuckled. "We can't name all of them, Gguks. Joonie and I just love these ones the most. We planted them here when the garden was first built, hence why they're in the center."

"Besides, you're our friend, you should get a flower too." Namjoon said. "So we can all bloom together."

Wow.

Namjoon was the greatest man Jungkook had ever met.

"Okay, if you're sure." Jungkook looked at the plant, feeling its soft green leaves. "What about...Cooky?"

"Like a cookie? Cute." Seokjin ruffled Jungkook's hair.

"Cooky like Kookie." Namjoon smiled. "I like it. Nice one, Jungkook."

Jungkook tried not to smile. "Thank you."

Namjoon stood up. "We should water them. I'm sure Yi-dae did already, but it's hot out today."

"On it!" Seokjin hurried down one of the paths that led to a little supply shack.

Namjoon and Jungkook started walking down another, taking in the looming trees and the sunshine that shone in through the glass, warming them and the plants.

"You should be in here when it rains." Namjoon said. "It's my favorite place on the whole island."

"I bet it's amazing." Jungkook agreed. "This whole place is amazing."

He ducked his head, heart pounding. "Y-you're amazing."

Namjoon blushed and turned away, rubbing his neck. "I-I'm not amazing."

"Of course you are! You created this whole place! You're so smart and kind and everyone loves you." Jungkook couldn't believe Namjoon didn't think highly of himself. "My friends back home are great but they never would have thought of this. You're so deep and thoughtful. I've never met someone like you before. You're just...inspiring."

Namjoon's cheeks were even pinker than Jungkook's. "I- thank you. You're really great too. This island is small and boring but you've never complained like all the other visitors do. I have a lot of fun hanging out with you. And Seokjin." He hastily added in.

Jungkook couldn't hold back his smile.

"Hey, you fuckers!" Seokjin shouted, running after them with a large watering can, splashing water. "You're not leaving me to water all of this by myself!"

A tall, white, rectangular marble flower pot was suddenly hit by the sun, and they were all blinded for a second.

Seokjin gasped as he tripped against it, the watering can flying from his hands as he hit the floor, the pot tipping over with a might crash, sending its contents flying.

Jungkook's arms shot up to protect his face, but nothing hit him.

Confused, he lowered them, and was shocked to see Namjoon had swerved in front of him, taking the splash of water instead.

Seokjin groaned, sitting up. "Fuck, since when was that moved there?"

Jungkook peeked up at Namjoon, staring at the boys now see through white shirt. "Whoa, Namjoon, you okay?"

But Namjoon wasn't staring at either of them.

He was staring at what had fallen out of the flower pot.

Jungkook followed his gaze and gasped silently, frozen.

Seokjin frowned. "It's not that big of a mess, guys. Why do you look like that?"

He glanced over too and screamed, kicking into the path to push himself away.

Because there had been something buried in the soil in that pot, underneath the flowers.

A body.
