Pls he's so adorable, I fucking love Kem Sukjen 💜

It was pitch black by the time they reached the town again, and Jungkook walked behind the two islanders, since they knew the way back even without being able to see.
Despite the cool evening air, Jungkook's cheeks still blushed hot, and he was thankful he was out of sight of the two older boys, who laughed and pushed each other.
Had he been obvious? He hadn't realized Seokjin had seen the way he was staring at Namjoon, and he wondered if Namjoon had been staring the same way back. He was apparently gay after all, and Jungkook considered himself at least average in looks...but Seokjin was a Greek god and Namjoon only viewed him as a friend, so what chance did Jungkook have?
Besides, he was only here for a few months, and Namjoon was the son of the chief of the island. There was no chance.
He sighed, his hands shoved in his pockets. He had been sweaty because of the hike, but now with the cold winds blowing he was shivering.
"Let's have a bonfire!" Seokjin was saying when Jungkook tuned back in. "I haven't had a s'more in so long!"
Namjoon chuckled. "You and your chocolate."
He looked over his shoulder to Jungkook. "Does that sound good to you, Jungkook? Or do you want to head home? I bet you're tired and want to shower."
Jungkook was tired, and had a lot to think about, and he definitely needed a shower, but it would be a cold day in Hell when Jungkook ever turned down hanging out with Namjoon.
"Yeah, sounds great." He beamed, his nerves tingling under the islanders kind gaze.
-
The chief's house didn't stand out from any other house on the island, Jungkook supposed the chief wanted modesty to promote equality on the small island.
Namjoon opened the door and they all shuffled inside.
"Dad!" Namjoon called, finally dropping his backpack to the floor. "I'm back!"
"Yo Mr. Kim!" Seokjin plopped himself on the couch, clearly at home here.
Jungkook stood there, not sure what to do, hands crossed in front of him as he shifted his weight from foot to foot.
A man peered around the corner, pulling his glasses off his face. "Joon?"
Namjoon beamed, walking over to hug his dad. "Hey, how have you been?"
"You act like you've been gone for years." Mr. Kim chuckled. "The island was good in your absence, how were your studies?"
While the two caught up, Seokjin patted the cushion next to him, and Jungkook carefully sat down, looking at the two Kim's.
Mr. Kim looked exactly like Namjoon, you could tell at once glance that they were father and son.
"Jin and Jungkook and I were going to have a fire, want to join us?" Namjoon asked.
The chief shook his head. "The council called a meeting, I was just about to head out."
"Oh," Namjoon sounded a little sad.
"We have a lot of catching up to do when I get back, though." Mr. Kim said, brushing past Namjoon to head to the front door.
"Sure." Namjoon mumbled.
Jungkook frowned, looking to Seokjin, who had the same expression.
The door shut behind the chief, and Seokjin leaped off the couch, running up to grab Namjoon's wrists, spinning them around.
"Jin-"
"Come on, Joonie woonie," Seokjin pulled him into the kitchen. "Start getting the ingredients, I'll go start the fire."
Namjoon laughed as Seokjin pushed him. "Alright, I'm going. Don't set yourself on fire."
"Jungkook, you should help Namjoonie." Seokjin called as he headed deeper into the house to the back door.
The house seemed deathly quiet once Seokjin went to the backyard, and Jungkook nervously rose from the chair, heading to the kitchen.
Namjoon was pulling down a box of graham crackers when he spied Jungkook. "Wanna grab the marshmallows? They're in the pantry, top shelf."
Jungkook nodded, hoping his cheeks weren't still red as he scurried over, opening the pantry door.
He spied the confection and grabbed the bag. "These still seem fresh, do you import them from the mainland?"
Namjoon nodded, pulling out the chocolate candy bars. "Yeah, they give us stuff we can't grow on the island, and things like furniture and toothpaste and all that, and we trade fish and crops. Mostly fish."
Jungkook followed Namjoon through the house to where Seokjin had gone, mind whirring.
He felt he should clear up what had happened at the top of the hike.
"N-Namjoon," Oh great, stuttering already.
Namjoon stopped and turned. "Yeah?"
"Um, about what Seokjin said...back there," Jungkook felt himself blushing again, but that was okay since Namjoon's cheeks had flushed as well, knowing what Jungkook was getting at.
"We don't have to talk about it." The older boy hastily said. "It's, uh, it's fine- it's whatever, you know?"
Jungkook nodded, heart pounding.
Quick, idiot! Say something straight! Say something blatantly heterosexual so he doesn't question you!
"Um, your thighs are very nice."
Fuck. You IDIOT-
Namjoon stared, his hand drifting down to one exposed thigh. "Uh...thanks. Yours...too?"
Jungkook ducked his head, thoughts getting messed up in his dumb boy brain.
"Th- thanks, uh, um, yeah, I- yeah thighs are really....essential, for uh...movement..." He gulped, not sure how to dig his way out of this.
Focus on something else! Literally anything else!
"And your eyes are beautiful too!" He blurted.
Not THAT! Oh my God- why don't you fucking compliment his dick while you're at it?
Namjoon ducked his head too, smiling behind his fingers as he raised a hand to cover his face.
"Thanks, I like your eyes as well. They remind me of Bambi."
Jungkook clamped his mouth shut, terrified to say anything else.
"Seokjin's probably wondering what's taking us so long." Namjoon hurried down the hall, to a sliding glass door that led to the backyard.
Jungkook saw the oldest island boy warming his hands over a small fire in a pit, the orange glow illuminating his beautiful features.
"Gimme gimme!" Seokjin raced over, hands grabbing for the chocolate.
Namjoon laughed as Seokjin ripped the treat from his grasp, immediately tearing open the package with his teeth.
"Tell your dad to import more chocolate." Seokjin said, muffled as he shoved the candy bar into his mouth. "Oh fuck yeah, this is the shit."
Namjoon collapsed into a lawn chair, propping his feet up on one of the rocks surrounding the fire pit. "You would have more luck than I would. He only wants to talk to me if we're talking about me taking over his position."
Jungkook opened the graham cracker box and pulled one out, munching on it as he sank into another fold out chair.
Seokjin finally shared the chocolate, making a treat for each of them before sitting down as well.
The silence around them wasn't uncomfortable as they stared at the fire, but Jungkook found himself continually drifting to his thoughts, remembering his awkward moments with Namjoon, and he felt compelled to distract himself.
"So, how did the boat crash?"
Seokjin laughed around the bite in his mouth. "Blunt. I like it."
Namjoon had been half asleep, but he rubbed his eyes and opened them. "Honestly, no one knows."
Jungkook frowned. "What? How could no one know? Wasn't your dad the one steering it?"
"Yeah, well, no." Namjoon and sat up, rubbing a hand over his face.
"T'was the Shipwreck Man." Seokjin said ominously, before cutely stuffing the rest of his s'more in his mouth.
Namjoon scoffed. "That's just a dumb rumor people started in all the emotion of the crash. It's not real."
"Who, or what, exactly is he...it?" Jungkook asked, confused.
"He's an evil spirit who caused the boat to crash." Seokjin explained. "Or something like that. It's what all the old people believe. They say he caused the ship to steer into the island."
"My dad was steering, and then he said something shoved him out of the way and took over the wheel." Namjoon said. "Like a stowaway or something, it had to have been a person. Spirits aren't real."
Seokjin shrugged. "Who knows what really happened."
"But if someone really did intentionally crash the boat, wouldn't we have found them already?" Jungkook asked. "Since this island is small and everyone knows everyone?"
"They did." Namjoon sighed. "A boy our age, actually, was reported by several people to have been the one who broke into the captains area and suddenly jerked the wheel and crashed it. My dad identified him as well and they banished him to another island to live in solitude there as punishment."
"What? They couldn't! They don't have a right!" Jungkook argued.
Seokjin popped a marshmallow into his mouth. "International waters, no laws. People can do whatever. And it was for the rest of us's safety. I mean, he did kill three people in that crash, how do we know he wasn't hoping for more death?"
"Besides," Namjoon stretched out. "I'm sure he's been found by other people and brought back to the mainland by now."
Jungkook didn't like this story. "But what about his parents? You said he was our age, he couldn't have been on that ship alone."
"He was probably a stowaway. The Shima was taking us to Hawaii for a vacation, remember? He probably thought he could get a free trip by sneaking on board." Namjoon yawned.
"But-"
"Jungkook, we don't know all the details." Seokjin chuckled. "Besides, that was a decade ago, it's in the past now."
Jungkook frowned, staring at the fire.
Namjoon yawned again. "Shit, I'm beat. You guys can stay out but I'm gunna head in."
Hearing that reminded Jungkook of how tired he was.
"Me too." He mumbled, eyelids feeling heavy.
Seokjin pouted. "Fine. More chocolate for me."
Namjoon chuckled as he got up. "Fatty."
Seokjin stuck his chocolate covered tongue out.
Namjoon waved to Jungkook. "See you tomorrow."
Jungkook's heart skipped a beat. "S-see you tomorrow, N-Namjoon."
Seokjin snickered at him as Namjoon walked away.
Blushing, Jungkook jumped to his feet, stammering out an excuse before running across the yard to Dal's house.
There was a note on the counter that his uncle was going to be late coming home, and to help himself to any dinner.
Not hungry, Jungkook hurried to take a shower, his mind buzzing with NamjoonNamjoonNamjoon.
He changed into pajamas and climbed back into bed, half asleep already.
He thought he saw something dart through the trees outside his window, but when he went in for a closer look, he only saw Seokjin putting out the fire.
Shrugging, he flicked off his light, not seeing the glittering eyes watching him from the darkness.
